Chapter 2

Visions

The Rinosians were approaching fast, and all eyes were fixed on Alyssa's little niche in the world. Her heart was pounding, the Earth spinning beneath her. Sweaty plams, tight throat. She thought of staying there, letting them catch her. No, she thought, I should run, so she picked herself up and ran, she did not stop until she got home, only the next day would she find the events that occured after she ran. It occured as follows:

Ouran was baffled. He had been reciting lines for the new show, and had looked to the southwest of the tent, past all the Rinosians, and had seen a face, watching them. He would have liked to let it go, but the Rinosians were not without prejiduce against them. Then, the face had been smitten with a look of fear as he had sent some of his guard to find out who it was. The face soon dissapeared, leaving him a wondering Sojourner, albiet a wondering Sojourner being snipered from the direction he was facing away from.

The sniper finally gathered his nerves and fired a shot at the Sojourner. He missed, it hit his shoulder, he might die from the poison that the bullet was laced with, however. So, thinking his job was done, the sniper stalked off.

Ouran's world was getting fuzzy, he saw his guard surround him, basic proceedure, until Zanteth barged into the circle of protection. Soon, the Rinos tribe was all around their fallen leader, and the ambulance was on its way. He was whisked away to the hospital soon after.

A day passed, and the Sojourner was still unconcious, they had already found the poisons toxifying him, and they were purging that in hopes of preventing death. A million healing spells had been cast over him, and Zantos was anxiously standing over his friend, and only then did he notice something strange. On his friend's brow, his mark glowed.

"That shouldn't be happening," He puzzled, "come look at this, Brimsha."

Brimsha was the captain of the Sojourner's personal guard. He peered at the mark, as perplexed as the high priest, "I wonder what's going on in there," but he did not have the slightest chance to wonder further, because a young girl of fourteen burst in, opening the doors with a bang. The girl was in tears, but not Rinosian, she had no mark. Why was she crying? Another mystery, Brimsha's head hurt, guards weren't meant to think.

Ouran woke with a start at the loud noise of the doors opening, how long was he out? Then he saw a girl. She was about his age, to be exact, he was a year older. She was not beautiful by Rinosian standards. The Rinosian idea of beauty was fair skin and blonde hair, both of which their ruler possessed. She had cinnamon toned hair, that matched her amber eyes and her deep tan. She was a beauty, in an exotic way.

He had no idea that she was checking him out at the same time, and had fallen into a restless sleep before he could hear her tell her entire story of what had happened yesterday.

She was totally unaware of the fact that he had slipped into a sleep filled with visions of the past
