Okay, I have an idea with blending this story with the other one I was thinking about, the pirate era one.
I've recently finished a Wilkie Collins novel in which multiple narrators are used very effectively. What I'm thinking of is a story that involves Alex as a zealous pirate hunter and Joshua, who the general public believes to be a pirate, but Joshua might not be exactly guilty. Tes could still be in it as his right hand, and so could Ren, though I think I'd have to change his name.
Like Colllins, I could have a few chapters narrated by one person, then passed on to another character, but all keeping the same central characters in view. for example: Tes might begin the story and narrate Alex hounding them, and then it could pass to Ren, seeing the same thing from a different perspective as the story progresses.
How does that sound? |

| sounds cool. The switching point of view will be great for showing the differences in the way Alex and Joshua see the world. |

| Yes, that sounds like a good idea. Switching the narration p.o.v. around might get some interesting poll results as well... |

That's what I'm shooting for. It will be more focused on individual choices instead of just events, which will fit with the central idea of the effects of idealism on people too.
The only thing I'm confused about is: now that I have to re-start it, do I have to take it back to new SG's? or do I just re-do the chapters here? Not exactly sure about the propper procedure for this one. |

Also, would it stay here or move to the Experimental forum? Or fantasy? I guess it kind of fits fantasy, but is more along the lines historic fiction, and it would fit Expermental because of the different narrators thing, but I don't think it will end up being appropriate for this forum.
Ah, I'll get it sorted out eventually, and anouce it to all you who have been so patient and helpful when I do ;) |

| (Sigh) I'm starting to think this sg is on life support and I should cease my heroic efforts to keep it going. The plot I had in mind actually could fit into part of the new idea I'm toying with. Tess could be Mirinda with some tweeking, Alex could stay baisically himself, Joshua could be the other Joshua....( go to http://www.cityofif.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3835 to to see what the heck I'm rambling on about) |
