Hi there! This is my first time doing this, so please bear with me. Needless to say, I'm excited. THUMP. Ow, I hit my head on the low basement ceiling while jumping for joy. BUT ANYWAY, back to the story.

This story takes place in a world much like ours, and yet much different. The main difference is that this world features magic and medival paths to make a living for oneself. To keep a magical balance in this world, it is half land and half water. The land features wilderness as it's main factor. In this wild, many of the mystical beasts that scientists say cannot exist, well, they live there. There is little of the world that is tamed. What is belongs to the towns that serve as bases for the different races. They are:
Druids: Masters of wilderness and nature, they can bend the natural world to their will.
Wizards: They absorb any and all magic around them all the time. They are potent, but if they aren't soaking in what thay need right then, then they must change it internally, and that takes time. They tend to look out for themselves and their intrests most of the time.
Vampires: These are not your ordinary beasts of the night. They can exist during the day, but it is very unpleasant for them. A saying in this world is, "Unless you have a death wish, do not make a vampire mad if they are in the sun." Completly anti-social.
Humans: These are your basic people of Earth. They can become any of the above, but they won't be as potent as a natural one. They normally do what their instinct tells them to, and what they feel is right.

This world only has one legend, but it is enough.
This world was created by five gods, four for their respective races, and one ultimate, higher god. Each one left an artifact for their race. The vampires recieved a cloak that made one invisble if one wore it. The humans recieved a sword and shield that would not break or bend. The druids recieved a staff that stored nature magic for when they needed it. The wizards got two wands that would function only if the other was nearby. They were known as the wand of light and darkness. The ultimate god made a tome of wisdom that any could recive and read, but only a chosen one could read and comprehend it.
Every few hundred years, someone would find an artifact and use it to lead his people to greater glory. But there was a price attached to the artifacts. For every day that one used an artifact, one day was taken off of the end of one's life. Therefore, these people died early deaths, for greed would never let the artifacts away from them.
However, the tome was never found, and that was a shame. If one reads and understands the tome, then the price does not apply to that person. One explination is that the ultimate god gaurds it, and being a god, will not die or tire.
Lately, not one has been found for one thousand years. The time is long overdue.

Okay, if there are no new posts in three days that ask questions that I haven't anwsered, then I'll assume that I made everything very obvious and lock it down. Okay?
