This thread is for any Q and A about what on earth might be going on Here. :D

It is for any participants in the adventure to communicate outside the story if they need to, and for any non-participating observers to add their comments, as and when they feel like it. There are no rules here unless it gets to the point where some are needed.

Below is a quick note on chapterizing (and an attempt to try and address the square-pegginess in round-holeness issue vis a vis the standard SG format versus the multi-author side of things!)

Although the story is being laid down by multiple authors in short posts of 250 words or less, at appropriate intervals we'll summarize the plot so far. This will give everyone a breather, to discuss what has happened, and give new participants a chance to jump in at the next chapter without having to trawl through reams of previous text. This will also help to keep it fast moving, I hope.

So far its got off to a great start, but am hoping to see a few more try this out, and maybe someone fill the role of the as yet unidentified IFian on the ledge!

Cool idea to have a private investigator as one of the heroes. :)
Right now D-Lotus is still coming to his senses, and there's an opportunity for the 3 characters to get off the ledge.

The adventure is still open for anyone to join, there is no set limit for participants!

Hi everyone. I remember we did something similar to this in The True Story of InterFable. (Interfable was the old name of this website). At first it was truly hectic and wild, but suddenly a story began emerging, especially thanks to Smee, and I thought it was a lot of fun. It ended with an explanation by Key. Unfortunately, the sequel was a disaster. I'm glad you started something up like this.

Part of the fun of The true story of IF was that you didn't know what somebody else was going to invent, so it made it very suspenseful.

I loved the insanity of the first 4 pages and the brilliance of the the story when it really emerged, it is truly a gem!

OK a few notes about the Hangover.

As posted at the top of the storygame, I was hoping that if this got past the review board it would end up in Jester Park in the experimental section. However, if it is to get past the review board at all, the quality of posts need to be consistent, and of a high standard. As multiple authors, this story game is ours, and we need to treat it like our own, personal storygames, so when we post, we need to think about it and write it out just as carefully.

If it ever does get moved, it could be a great way of earning fables quickly, so it is NOT a good idea to blast it away with mindless posts without thinking ahead with possible future plot ideas. If you're looking for an opportunity to earn money quickly, that is a surefire way of throwing that opportunity away. I think those I'm aiming this at know who they are.

Think carefully about the detail so that it is easy for co-authors to pick up on. If it's not easy to pick up on, your posts are going to be misunderstood, and more contradictions will arise. We are working together here.

We should be writing something that we'll end up being proud of - even if it doesn't make Jester Park, at least I hope we'll end up with an enjoyable story that will have been fun to write, and fun to read also.

I've asked everyone to stop posting temporarily until I get a summary up - so that some sense can be made of one or two of the more recent entries.

OK it's off and going again!

Sasuke, I dont believe you got an official welcome, so here it is! You asked whether your character is friend or enemy, and to let us decide - I dont know, but have stuck in an interesting plot twist (I hope) looking at things from a different POV. It could put you in the enemy camp, at least for a while, I dunno! :D

The summary is up, so we're now I guess on a sort of 'Chapter Two' and to save any newcomers having to dredge through all the previous posts, just scroll down to the 'Story So Far' post near the bottom of page 1 in the thread, then read on and post from there!

By the way we do have an inventory of sorts, which is
1 arrow with a violet ribbon
Some mushrooms.

The quests in the plot are, so far:
Let Kalanna know that the map locating the Soul Well she has taken back to the City is fake
Find out who took the real map and why
Get Masterweaver back to normality. Whatever that is
Find out what grievance BStheGreat has against D-Lotus and how it all ties in

Well, honestly, the posts were getting really hectic and there was too many of them- a big flurry of them, really, so your sypnopsis really helped, Crunchy. I agree with you- let's keep post quality up.

By the way, I feel I should explain myself about one of the posts:

After Sasuke gave Crunchy the mushrooms, it was somehow expected that I get up and follow towards the tunnel, but I think you guys overlooked the fact that I still hadn't eaten the mushrooms myself, and therefore I was befuddled. That's why I insisted on the hydra and the pools- my character still thought them there.

Seems all of a sudden in MW's post we've come up nearby Polokin but he's in Jester Park... hmmm... so that means Jester Park must suddenly have gone up in flames since Polokin posted? I've got it smoldering as a compromise...

Looks like Polokin and D are going to meet earlier than we thought then...!

Somehow between the time of your last post when you were sitting in the tranquil mist, and when D and friends appeared in an unspecified location amongst fire, MW's post made D's location close to where you were sitting.

Maybe some time passed and something happened - in theory, you were there when it happened, you could write the explosion into your next post!

Well, there's no explanation yet. We think it's part of the plot of those evil people who started this in the first place, but we're not sure. Kalanna seems to think that it was us who did it.
