I was thinking of going back to "The Priest" (an emotional sg that never got past the prologue in HEM), and I had an idea for a type of DP.
I'm going to try to match every chapter with a song that is either classical or alternative. When I listen to music as I write, it affects what I write very much. What would you guys think if the DP was what song to base the next chapter upon?
Just an idea, but I would really like to experiment with mixing media in SGing.
Sincerely,
Leggy |

I actually had that very idea quite a while ago. Only problem was the fact that the majority of times I'd probably end up listing some Death Cab For Cutie song I was listening to at the time.
I say go for it. |

| Experimentation is good, but how exactly do you plan to apply the song to the decision point? |

| I like that idea. It sounds pretty cool. I think you should go for it. |

Would it be that the DP was, rather than what happened next, which song the next chapter would be based on?
The problem with that is people come up with all types of odd songs. See Ifian Idol (and put in an entry, please) for an example. |

| Well of course there'd have to be a couple rules as to what songs to choose. I was thinking only songs with no lyrics. That way we can keep most of the songs sort of in the same genre and everyone can understand them. |

| This sounds like a great idea, it will have to be smoothed out a bit possibly, but I would definitely participate in a SG of that nature. I personally do not listen to music when I write, possibly because I have the feeling that my writing is changing according to music and is no longer my style... or something like that. |

@ Bookwizard: Then why not write some music of your own and listen to that while you write?
Sounds like an interesting idea... |

But unless you have some sort of amazing ability to write, produce and record music in a very short time, that will most likely and in all probability take MUCH longer then the actual writing. |
