What has happened before:
You, Thadius LaFontiana, went to the wizards to find out about all the assination attempts on your person, and, more importantly, if they were behind it. Unfortunatly, they pulled a classic wizard move, and tried to enslave you instead. Isn't that typical, you try to shake their hand, and they try to bite it off.
After you escaped from the wizards, you managed to find your way into the woods. There you met an elf, who took you to your mother. The local druids healed you of your wounds, and they healed your mind. Now it is fragmented into the four types of races on this world. Whenever you give one dominance, your body shifts to accomidate it.
You spent a few days with your mother, and she showed you that your own kind, the vampires, rebelled against you, mainly because the wizards had tricked them. She also told you where you could obtain the artifacts to prove yourself to the world. After divulging this information to you, she was murdered by an elf that was proved later to be under the control of the wizards. The druids, always hasty to blame the nearby suspects, first accused you of killing her. As you left your room by the window, you hoped they would see the clue that was on your pillow that claimed your innocence and named the real murderer. Later you cursed yourself for not taking any supplies. Oh well, it is not far to the nearest town...

As you were walking down the road to Sha-Lini, the human settlement in this region, you find an old man walking down the road. He seems to be carrying a bucket that is far too heavy for him. As you walk up beside him, you say, "Here, let me carry that." You take the bucket and look inside. It's full to the brim with water.
The old man seems startled. Then he says, "Ah, thank ye kindly. 'tis not far to me hut."
You chat for awhile about general things, then you reach his hut. It seems a little old and run down, like the man himself. He says, "Ah, just bring that inside, would ye? I really need that for my afternoon tea."
You go in, and find it very cozy inside the hut. You put the bucket near the old iron stove so that it won't be too much of a hassle for him. As you do that, you hear him say, "I haven't much but this," and you turn around.
The old man is holding a pendant that seems to be made of pure white crystal. You ask, "And what, praytell, is that?"
"A medallion that protects he who wears it until they have fullfilled their destiny. I helped an old man, like you helped me, and he said to give this to the man who did me a favor in turn. Now, I haven't done much in my life, so this might be it, giving you the medallion so's you can be having this small help in your adventure. I now give this to you, as it was given to me. Mayhap you'll give it in turn to one who does for you what you did for me."
And with that, the medallion falls into your hand, and then the old man promptly dies, falling at your feet. His last words were, "I was right...I lived for five hundred years with that thing...It will do the same for you"
As you make his tea and pour it into a cup, you find the human part of you disgusted, so you take your leave. The kettle was still on the stove when you left. Further down the road, you looked back at the hut, and found that it had crumbled. Just as the old man had ended in this world, so had the hut.

Later on, you find a tree newly felled in the middle part of the road. You would have continued on, but the druid in you sensed something wrong. You switch over to that part, and find that the body shift is no longer painful or unpleasant. But no matter. Time to get to work. The druid quickly analyzes the situation, and comes to the conclusion that the tree was felled in one blow by a strong man with a very large axe. Knowing of only one person who could do that, you search the nearby underbush, and aren't very suprised to find Mack and Mary there. They, being vampires, are asleep right now, so you find a hiding spot, and wait for night to fall.

Suddenly, they wake. It's so sudden that you were caught off-guard. Mack, with the soldier in him, knows something has changed in the thicket since he began resting, besides the fact that day has passed. He wakes Mary, and then he begins his search. He finds that the thicket's branches were parted, and that the tree you are in has had bark scraped off of it. He calls to you, though he doesn't know it's you, "Come down and fight! I'm ready for you!"
Suddenly, all of your minds want to show him who's boss. So, silently, you creep down, and then land behind him. You raise your arms and throw a minor destuctive spell at him. Of course, he has his soldier-sense, so he knew when you were behind him. He twirled around, and caught the spell full in the chest. As he lies down in the thicket, and Mary rushes to his aid, you glide up, there really is no other word for how you move, and say, "But are you ready for me, Mack?"

Later in the night, you manage to get your friends caught up on your activites, and they finally understand. "So where do you plan on going now?" asks Mack.
You anwser him, "Sha-Lini, the only town with a harbor that is inhabited with people I can trust."
"So you plan on doing what your mother wanted, you plan on proving yourself?" asks Mary.
"If not only to vampires, then the world itself. I must prove myself for who and what I am!"

Now, to get it out of the way...
The pendant will not really protect him from everything, just his own stupidity. When it does protect him, it gives that fate to the nearest person and tries to make it seem accidential. i.e. If someone is about to chop his arm off, that will be transfered to Mack if he's closest.

I hate quoting myself. I believe I said that it gives the fate to the nearest person. So if he's next to somebody he doesn't care for...
I'll leave the rest to you guys.

Okay, for the next six weeks, I'll not be able to think for myself.
I have a few little brats with names that need looking after.
My cousins with my aunt are coming to visit.
Your input is more valuable then ever!
Please! Hurry up!

He may wunt to just leave his friends and show the vampiers what he's made of by him self so if he is attacked the only once that the fate can go to is the person attacking him after all you have to be prety closs to hit some one with a weapon and if they hit him with spells his friends wount be closs enuff to get his fate.

If he fills he must prove him self to the vampiers he sould try to find one of the higher mimbers and kill them in a place where people will see who he is, and as long as he's lone all the people who are around to defind his target can posably do is kill people he dosent even know because of that pendant the old man gave him LOL.
