|
|
Fairly often our monthly contests have been ending in ties. How this has been dealt with has varied over time, but most recently all tied winners have been awarded SGOTM.
Although this is great for the authors, and for each of the main forums because they are all now rich in active SGOTM winners, the pool of storygames from which to nominate is in danger of dwindling.
To counter this, the council had a vote on what to do if the SGOTM ended in a tie. Unsurprisingly that very vote was tied for 5 days!
However the tie has now been broken, and I can reveal that should a SGOTM contest end in a tie, then the Head Eaters will collectively cast the tiebreaking vote.
Obviously if a Head Eater is one of the SGOTM candidates they will have to abstain. If Head Eaters have not participated in the SG's they will need to read each and evaluate them. |

Good stuff.
I think you should advertise this fact fairly prominently, to stop tactical voting. |

What the heck are you smoking, Ne-ne? WE NEVER COME TO AGREEMENTS! lol! I am not sure some of us know how! lol
My vote is for to pass both stories that are tied.
I mean, they've got to be good to become nominated in the first place, hello!
Shutting up ... now |

Lily - council has alredy voted and we already got an outcome...
hence crunchys announcement
suck it up sunshine :P
and what happens behind HE doors should stay there (don't you remember the credo - blab and die?)..
EDITED to ADD - and as crunchy says if we let both through in the same month we potentially leave ourselves with les qulity SGoM the next month and the possible advance of a 'undeserving winner' - not saying anyone is (oh except ren :P ) but its a possibility yes? |

Thanks for revealing that rule to us common folk. I'm struck by the irony of your statement. :) |

| Sorry if this sounds kind of stupid, because I get the lurking suspicion that it dose... but when you say head eater, you are referring to what now. |

I too have notcied that SGotMs have been tying around here a lot more than usual. Glad someone has taken the effort to do something about it! |

Yes. In fact, they took the effort a whole four months back!
Can we lock and sticky this thread, and similars concerning changes to the rules? They aren't really needed to post upon any more, and could even just be deleted altogether and left in the rules. |

Head Eaters are members of the New Storygame Review Board, those elusive creatures who patrol the New Storygame Forum and promote storygames once they come up to standard.
This motley crew were formed before my time, and I believe they were formally known as Editors...
therefore - Editor - Head Eater... geddit? er, nvm. |
