Ryan's outburst made Mikhail smile a little when he asked "So I have to carry the responsibility for your incompetence? I am not even working here and I got a doze of that antidote. Even though I already do have the key." Mikhail stared straigth to Ryan's eyes and surprisingly his eyes carried no message of his feelings, just cold and calculating signal of confidence.

That staredown only lasted some five seconds when Mikhail went on "Moreover, Anderson, your little hunt is of little consequence to me, I am not afraid of your zombified men. Especially because I have more information than you even dare to speculate in your wildest dreams. I can, however, give you some help with people if you are ready to make a deal. Get me some gas to fill my cigarette lighter with so that I don't have to start burning people for getting fire." The last few words were said with enough eloquence to assure Ryan that Mikhail was not actually aiming to start burning people

"We don't have time for this!" Rose snarled suddenly.

Without warning or any permisson, she stuck her hand in Anderson's pocket, grabbed his lighter, and tossed it with a flick of her wrist at Mikhail.

She then strode right up to Mikhail and got in his face, her blood boiling for the kill.

"GET THOSE PEOPLE TO MED SEC 6.. NOW!" Her voice sounded very rough and deeper than usual and her pupils were dilated more than normal, every vessel on the whites twice as large as normal.

"It wasn't that hard now was it? Try not to turn into one of those monsters, so I don't have to kill you. Also, I bet you want to know what happens to the people behind this..." Mikhail said and yawned indifferently.

He pointed one of his pistols to the lot of people waiting for his guidance and protection yelling "Yo people! Get moving or I'll leave you behind!" and then he gave Rose a small nod and a smile of sadistic nature and started leading the group towards Med Sec 6.

"Let's go, Rose, before you lose control. No telling if you will be able to regain it", Ryan said wearily. "Medsec 1 will be sealed, so we need to make sure we have the codes. We should also go back by the armory. It wouldn't do to run out of ammo in the middle of things." After saying this, suddenly Ryan doubled over, clutching his head in pain. His vision blurring, he sank to the ground in agony.

When he finally got back up, Ryan began speaking hesitantly. "We...need to get moving."

Rose glared at Mikhail as he left then waited until Ryan was done with his freak out moment. "Before who loses control now?" She snipped at him. "Well, let's hit Med Sec 1 first before it is too late... for either of us.." She started off, subconciously patting the original security card in her pocket. Of course, what Mikhail doesn't know about the spare copy won't hurt him.

Susan yawned as she put her book down and sat up. The communications panel on the wall was crackling, and she knew no-one else would bother to log in to see who it was, so he presses her fingerprint in and spoke.

"Hello?"

A hazy image snapped onto the screen. It showed a soldier, too indistict to identify, but clearly young, and wearing the uniform of the US army.

"Hello? Are you alive?"

"Am I... Am I what? Why shouldn't I be alive?"

The soldier was visibly stunned. He turned round and shouted a question to one on the figures hurrying about in the background, then turned back to me when he had his reply.

"So, it hasn't reached you yet? Where are you?"

"I'm... I'm on the ship. But what? What hasn't reached me?"

"Nevermind that. Barricade yourself in, and don't let ANYONE through. Got that? There's a situation here. That's..."

The crackling increased, and the screen dissolved into fuzzy static. The ocasional burst of sound came through the speakers, though nothing that made any sense. Blow this for a lark I though to myself, as I headed for the kitchen. I want to know what's going on out there, and I'm going to.

In the kitchens was Fitch, a twelve-year old bunch of bones, making a sandwich. He was the second oldest General Dogsbody, other than me. I grabbed a few knives and told him about the mysterious communication.

"So I'm going to investigate, and you're in charge here. Right?"

Without waiting for him to reply, I turned, grabbed a key from the wall and walked off to the Mechanic's workshop. When there, I put on a leather apron, stuffed the knife into my belt and picked up a welding torch. I was ready to see what the soldier had been worried about.

Fuller opened the door and checked if there was anyone outside. So far so good, not a mouse in the halls.

He rushed through the narrow corridors which where connected directly to MedSec6. The walls were bloody, the dark red, viscose liquid dripping between the metal plates and bricks that made the walls. There were also some scratches on the walls, as if something massive with even more massive fangs ran it's long blades through the metal and stone. It scared Michael very much.

Darn. There was nothing this size in the station, he looked at the metal floor which was dented greatly. Must be a mutation. Fuck.

He came to a medium-sized door that had the same password as the ones Evans locked. He slid them opened, readying his gun and instructing Star to take cover on the other side of the hall, symmetrical to how Fuller stood.

Kaine squezzd her hand and looked her in the eye

"Don't talk like that your not going to die as long as i'm here im going to make sure of it, Now relax if your stressed it will hurt more."

kaine looked at her his eyes slightly teary "I don't know why I came back I felt I needed to like I shouldnt have left you in the first place"

Kaine kissed her on the cheek and looked at her still holding her hand reasuringly

Mari laughed a bit. "Relax? Me? I have never relaxed, not ever in my life," she said. Shifting her weight to one side, she reached in her back pocket and pulled out the pack of cigarettes. She took one out and put it between her lips.

Before she could even light the cigarette, it was taken out of her mouth by Kaine. "What the bloody hell are you doing Kaine? Give it to me!" Mari said as she reached for the cigarette in Kaine's hand.

Kaine lifted the cigarette out of her reach "No not in your condition." Kaine looked down at her as she lay there.
Kaine thought to himself "fuller hurry the fuck up"
"You can't smoke not in your condition you could have lung damage i don't know the severity of your condition "

Susan wandered through the corridors, guard up and suspicions roused. Though she knew that there had been about 100 people on the flight, the base seemed to be deserted. As she got further through the maze of rooms, the sounds of a fight drifted to her ears.

She frowned, and started running. As she neared the source of the noise, she started seeing spashes of blood on the walls and floor. She slid to a standstill as she looked into one room. There were corpses everywhere! Resisting the urge to vomit, she ran on.

Apparently not too many zombies remained. At least not as far as Mikhail could tell, he managed to escort all the people right to the vicinity of MedSec 6 before encountering the first wave of zombified soldiers. Dolvich's reflexes and keen senses prevailed once again and he jumped back immediately when he spotted the zombies and, most importantly, before they opened fire.

"People, wait here, we have a problem," he whispered to the group he was protecting. Using a small mirror he observed all positions of the zombies who were standing in front of the door that separated Mikhail's troupe from MedSec 6. With little hesitation Mikhail sprung himself to action with remarkable swiftness and shot exactly 10 bullets and dispatched 10 zombies. He was not into the normal spray and pray tactics of most mafia members.

"Why didn't ya use tha submachine gun, dude?" asked one of the refugees, but Mikhail's gaze was enough to shut that young man up.

"Kain! Are you there?" yelled Mikhail walking next to the door guns ready.

"Damn it Atticus," Mari said as she tried to relax her body against the pillows. The pain wouldn't let her relax fully. She handed over the rest of the cigarettes and her lighter over to Kaine. "There ya go. You want the alcohol that I have stored on the ship too?" she asked, her temper being tested a little. That's when she heard the Russian's voice through the door.

Kaine heard the voice his hand flying quickly to his side where he drew his 9mm Pistol and pointed at the door "Yeah I'm here who is it?" His hand twitched slightly on the bottom of his gun as he unfastened the safety

Fuller slowly opened the doors, which turned with a screech, just to see the half of the room. It seemed empty so he tilted the door open some more, stale, smelly air pouring over his senses. He got dizzy by just inhaling the stuff.

"There is something wrong here..."

Something ripped out the area around the door handle and withdrew with a squishy sound. The blow was strong, since Fuller made a 180 degree spin. He held his left hand, blood dripping between the fingers of his right hand and making abstract figures on the cold, concrete floor and filling its pores and chamfers.

"Starshine!"

He pulled her to his side, finding that it was the creature's blond spot.

"Listen..." he panted, "that thing in there". He clenched his right hand, bones cracking from the wrist to the base of his fingers. He did it because of both medical reasons and the fury that rose inside him. Two small tears showed themselves on the edge of his eyes and Star gave him a puzzled look.

"That thing... I saw it in the metal plate on the wall... It was..."

His pistol fell to the ground with a clang and his knees lost their strength and he fell on all four. He closed his eyelids tightly and shook his head as if he wanted to escape a nightmare and suddenly he shouted from the bottom of his lungs...

"ROOOOOSE!"

"Who do you think it is? Santa Claus? It's Dolvich and all the refugees, your head of security sent us in and I'd appreciate if you didn't try to kill me when I get in" Mikhail said angrily and used the key card to open the door and just to save his own hide, pushed another man in before stepping in.

With a cigarette in mouth, Dolvich came in and after him all the surviving refugees entered the room as well. "So, what's the plan, doc?" he asked with his normal cocky attitude keeping his guns ready to kill anyone in the room should he feel himself threatened.

"Firstly, cigarette out this is a clean room I have an injured woman possible lung injuries so no smoking allowed." Kaine lowered his gun and thrust it in the holster on his leg slamming the door and looking the door with his key card

"we are staying put for now we need to wait for fuller, and rose where is she any way?"

Mikhail asked and did not even try to hide the fact that he was surprised as to emphasize how he still is unscathed and when he saw Mari he drew the last breath from the cigarette and threw it behind a counter saying "Ah, kitty got injured. Is it lethal?" went on indifferently.

Watching Mari's agony amused him a bit, though he didn't show it at all. He also happened to have the best cure for that, Russian vodka. Dolvich took a sip from his pocket flask offering it to Mari as well and answered Kain's question with a definite amount of sneer in his tone "Got infected along with Anderson. No idea where they went after that, nor do I care that much after the bitch didn't fullfill her end of our deal."[/i]

"Fuck you Dolvich and to answer your question yes it is lethal. I'm fucking bleeding out from my damn stomach," Mari snapped at the Russian. She waved off the vodka even though she did need it, she knew it would make matters worse. Looking at Kaine, she got up and sat at the edge of the bed.

She rubbed her temples to try and stave off her anger while she was biting her lip to stave off the pain in her abdomen. Marissa was getting pissed and she was in pain, not a very good combo. Good thing she didn't have any weapons on her.

"calm down , Mari you will hurt your self" Kaine passed her the vicodin taking one for himself "all this stress has given me a massive headache"

Kaine began fiddling with the knife at his hip twiddling the hilt round and round .

"Dolvich what was this deal with rose?As maybe I can keep the deal if you continue to help us out? our only hope is to get off this rock but first we need fuller he's alive I'm sure of it"

Mari wrenched herself out of Kaine's grip and got out of the bed. Anger was purley driving her on past the pain and everything else. She walked up to Dolvich, not afraid of the gun, she had guns pointed at her before. Both in the military and when she was on the streets as a drug addict.

She grabbed his wrist and with her other hand she gave him a left hook in the face. "Now do you really want me dead you stupid bastard? I'm the only one in this place that can save your stupid asses. Nobody else has any flight expierience with that ship," Mari said, her face just an inch from his. She backed up slowly and wrenched the gun from his grip. Now she was armed and pissed. Mari stopped backing up when she was over by Kaine.

"Starshine..." Fuller sobbed, "you stay here... This will be too much for you..."

He wiped off the tears and grabbed the gun in his left hand. He leaned against the wall while standing up, still feeling unsure of his stability. He walked to the center of the corridor and shot down the screw threads that held the door, making the thick door fall to the ground with a metal thud. He checked to see if there was enough bullets left and he stepped calmly into the room.

His footsteps were soft, the taps almost inaudible. He held the gun down, but ready for action as he raised his view towards the... creature. It resembled a large scattered biomass, with a humanoid form in the middle, as if the form was half-merged with the wall. The front side was bare, deformed and sickening, and it hurt Fuller to see that a creature like that could live. But what hurt him even more was that, it looked like... Rose.

Yes, her face was somewhere on Fuller's head level and it looked as if it was sleeping, twitching in agony now and then. The whole form shook as pain hurled through it. The tentacles that impended down to the floor were twirling like the tail of a sleeping cat, though there were about nine bigger and five or six smaller ones.

"Rose..." he whispered, his voice softer and more full of pain than it ever was. One thing is when you see a life end. Seeing a life living in agony... that's something else. He would rather die than see someone living a painful life. And this was quite literally...

She screamed in chorus, as if hell's assembly sang an oratory of sorrow, an opera of guilt mixing with a sinister choir's last cry. She made a few smaller cries and stared blankly into Fuller's eyes.

"I told you to take care of yourself, goddamit! I thought, if anyone was to fall under the disease, it would be me, not you! You had the best FUCKING chance of SURVIVAL!"

Suddenly her eyes flicked into another state, as if someone hit a switch inside her head.

"Michael..." she hissed, like a dozen of snakes in a large room. "It hurts..."

"I know honey". He began to shake again, sobbing a bit. He couldn't see her being in pain like that. He looked at her again, just to make sure this wasn't a nightmare... but she was still there. Her breasts lying in a middle of grotesque, pulsating mass, he legs looked like they were dipped in molten cheese resembling flesh... and worst of all, she wasn't complete. From the half of her foot to the middle of her shoulders she was in the wall... actually, there couldn't be anything in the wall. She was... a spawn.

She suddenly screamed again, her shriek devouring his senses. "NOT EVERYTHING IS HOW YOU SEE IT..."

"Michael, it hurts!!! Kill me, please!!! I CAN'T TAKE ANYMORE!!!"

And he shot her in the head. Her heart, which was easily visible through her thin skin, stopped beating, and her whole body went to a halt.

Star crept forwards and glanced around the corner. As she watched the exchance between Fuller and the hideous being that was once known as Rose she felt that she couldn't stand by and wait.

Fuller was getting drawn in more and more to the creatures screams, edging closer and closer. To Star all she could hear seemed to be a high pitched whining, almost mechanised and she had to clamp her hands over her ears.

She felt liquid trickle down her hands and glancing at them noticed the streams were blood.

Scrabbling to her feet she screamed Fullers name over and over. He seemed unable to hear her at all and she backed hastily away and ran as fast as she could.

No choice.. she thought to herself... no choice, i have to get help.

Skidding around a corner she tripped over something, sprawled on the ground she grabbed at the Comms unit. Hearing the thud of foot steps she slid herself backwards into a recess in the wall and opened the comms channel.

'Please, hello, is anyone out there? I am a survivor..' Star paused not knowing what to say. 'Rose has mutated, she has Fuller in MedSec... i am NOT infected.'

As she waited for a response tears started to flow down her face, to come so far only to die here...

The foot steps grew closer as the Comms Unit squawcked to life..

Mari stood her ground with the gun pointed at Dolvich. The adrenaline and anger pulsing through her veins was keeping the pain at bay. But as we all know, all good things must come to an end.

Mari started to calm down and she dropped the gun. Her breathing got heavier and the bloodlust evaporated from her eyes. She felt the wound bleeding more by the minute. That wasn't all. Her vision got blurry right before she collapsed on the ground.

'Is this it girl? Are you at the end of your rope? Is this really death?' she thought as she lay on her side. Mari brought one hand to her mouth and gave a small cough. She felt something warm and thicker than saliva in her palm. She looked at it. It was blood. 'Great, you really overdid it this time. Your superiors always told you that pushing it too far would lead to your grave.' Mari closed her eyes and her breathing became shallow. She felt a hand grab her shoulder and heard a voice say her name right before she lost conciousness.

He couldn't stay here, not with MedSec 6 and possibly all of the other waiting there. He had to get Star and go through FAST.

He exited the door, and freezed in shock...

Kaine dropped to the floor as Mari collapsed he grabbed her by the shoulder and through her into and embrace. Shouting her name in a tone of a mixture of anger and sadness.

"Mari NO, not yet he will be here soon come on wake up come." Kaine grabbed a pillow from the best resting her head on it as he rose he jogged quickly to the corner of the grabbing an oxygen cylinder and the attached mask he dragged it to her, put the mask over her face and turned the valve for oxygen to come running through the tubes.

"Any of you civilians got any medical training ?"

A man rose his hand saying " I did a CPR course"

"Not helpful she has a stab wound in the gut not a heart attack" Kaine said dismissing him angrily.

Kaine walked to Dolvich snatching the door card off him he walked to a computer and inserted it in the side of the computer it sprang to life with a beep. Typing into the keyboard a map sprang up on the screen of all the life signs in the area. Kaine typed rapidly and all the dots became green except to Kaine exhaled loudly

" I need to get fuller look after her i will be back." Kaine walked to table and grabbed his SA80 and headed towards the door.

Rose and Anderson nearly slammed into Fuller as they moved towards Med Sec 1.

"What the hell? Where the fuck did you come from, Fuller?" Rose's hand automatically flew to her gun on her hip when the door opened that she had just been about to draw and shoot.

Goddamnit, of all times for him to show up, it's when I'm infected.... FUCK!

She could feel her blood boiling in her veins to just reach out and take a bite out of Fuller's arm.

"I frikkin shot you back there! What the!..."

He ran back into the room, the carcass still hanged from the wall.

"Listen, you two..." he was about to cry when he shook his head. "We need to go to safety NOW! Follow me!"

He grabbed Star's hand and called them to run in the room where the Rose-postor was.

Rose shook her head, looked at Anderson. "Well come if you want, I don't know where to go from here." She followed Starshine and Fuller through the door and nearly retched at her lookalikes remains.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT, FULLER?" She drew her gun and pointed it at the carcass, her bloodshot eyes widened as she shouted at Fuller.

He let go of Star's hand and punched in an override code. The back door of MedSec 6 opened and he let a sigh of relief, happy to finally reach his goal. That relaxation lasted only for a short notice.

"Mari? What the hell happened?"

He ran over to Kaine and the others, looking over Mari's wounds.

Mari dropped back on the floor bleeding even worse than she already did and none of the refugees or even Kaine knew what to do. Mikhail had no official medical training, but he knew stab and bullet wounds alright, even though he had inflicted a lot more of them than he had received during his rowdy life.

Letting out a yawn he said calmly "Might want press something against that, possibly even make an emergency bandage." Saying no more than that he turned to a man and pointed his pistol at him saying "Give me your belt and shirt, fast," and without hesitation the young refugee complied giving Mikhail what he asked for.

"It was Mari, wasn't it? Anyway, this might hurt a little, but that is the entire point," he explained pouring some of his vodka on the wound and then quickly proceeding to make a compression bandage using the belt and shirt he acquired only some seconds earlier.

"Thank heavens, I need someone to help me. You do that bandage, I'll take something from the MS6 stash to help her."

Fuller grabbed Kaine by his arm and dragged him to the other end of the room.

"Listen... uhm... Mari will not survive that wound. Not in that state."

He waved his hand at the MS6 "stash".

"This is what I had in mind. You don't know about his because you were too busy holding the base together. This is my expertise anyway."

He to a small vial from the shelf, and inside was some liquid-ish thing. He shook it and the silvery jelly glittered a bit. He stopped shaking, but it wouldn't stop turning in the small, but thick vial.
