The Story Hour

Introducing a new Writer’s game coming soon to where else the Games District.

Feeling bored….

Need inspiration….

Or just want to write without any pressure at all…

Then, Welcome, take a seat, make yourself at home.

Here’s how this will work. The game will be set up as a traditional Role-playing Game in a fictional setting with fictional host, and Writer’s will reply IN CHARACTER to the story. Wheither that’s a made up character created for the purpose of this game or their traditional Ifian selves is up to the writers enterally.

Basically this is a STORY TELLING game, where writers will tell stories in character in response to varying situations posted either here in the RULES POST or in the GAME.

The game will be constantly changing, challenging would be story tellers to hopefully their utmost limit. This game is also supposed to be a lot of fun, and just a place where writers can cut loose for once.

WHY SHOULD YOU ENTER?

Good question. 1.) Because its fun to share stories without having to commit to a story. 2.) Because their will be A FABLE PRIZE at the end of each Game Round, and A GRAND FABLE PRIZE at the end of the game.

Convincing enough?

Okay now for all that official rules junk.

RULES FOR THIS ROUND AND BEYOND.

PAY ATTENTION.

READ THE FINE PRINT.

VIOLATION OF THE RULES WILL DISQUALIFY A WRITER FROM A ROUND AND CONTIOUS DISOBEYING OF THE RULES WILL MEAN PERMENANT REMOVAL FROM THE GAME.

Rules for this Round and Beyond.

1.) There will be a entry fee for each round. Fee will be paid to Dinranwen to be placed in the Prize Pot. Half the Prize Pot will be awarded to the Winner of each round. The other half will go to the Grand Prize Jackpot, and will be rewarded at the end of game.

2.) Winners will be determined by Vote at the end of each round

*Anyone can Vote for the winner of each round, even non-particpatiants.

3.) Although this is will be a short story contest, Story lengths will vary and will change to make this Game challenging. Also the Greater the length, the Greater the Entry Fee, the Greater the Fee, the Greater the Prize.

4.) In each round there will be a new challenge. The Challenge will be posted either in the Rules Section or in the Game itself. Writers must write their short story in response to this challenge.

5.) Writers can enter the Game 2 weeks after the beginning of a round, between rounds, or during voting. After that they must wait for that round to end before they can enter, out of consideration for the players.

Rounds will begin with a Challenge Post posted by your host, and will contain in story form the challenge for Each Round. Any Writer may join at that time by OCCing ((Which is talking in double parenthesis like this)) their intent to play along with a IN CHARACTER introduction.

*Writers will have one month to enter there stories. Anyone can enter in the time. After that month is up, writer’s will be given a two day warning to finish up before the round closes. No writer can join the game after the Entering time is up.

*Writers do not have to write in response to all challenges or write a story for each round. But they MUST post a IN CHARACTER post declining to tell a story for that round. This is so I know the writers are intending to stay in the game but don’t want to write that month.

Please be considerate to the other players and post if you are not going to write please, and so you don’t hold up the game by making the others wait for your response.

*Writers can also quit anytime and leave the game, but if they do so WILL DENY THE RIGHT TO THE JACKPOT PRIZE. If a writer wishes to leave, the must write an IN CHARACTER LEAVING Post. If a writer leaves before the enter a story for that round, they do not have to pay the fable entry fee, if they have already written for that round, the can still collect the prize if they win, but cannot collect the Grand Prize.

6.) There will be a point system of sorts that will not altar the winner of the round or the grand prize. The Point system will be in place to resolve any ties that may occur during the rounds so only one person will get the prize money.

IF THERE IS A TIE FOR THE JACKPOT, THE JACKPOT WILL BE SPLIT. IF THERE IS A THREE WAY TIE FOR THE JACKPOT, ANOTHER VOTE WILL BE CAST IN BETWEEN THE THREE WAY TIE.

The only time the Point system will be used to determine a winner in the event of a tie is during a Round in the game.[b]

Each Story is Worth Ten Points. Always. Points will be deducted if a writer fails to accomplish a certain task.

[b]The Ten Point System

Time---Posting your story on time is worth 2 points. If your story is late, and posted within the 2 days warning period, 2 points will deducted for your total score.

Rules---Failure to obey the rules by not using a certain word or disobeying one of the story rules will mean a deduction of 2 points.

Challenge---Failure to approtiatly respond to the challenge of Each Round will mean a deduction of 4 points. This is worth the most because this is basically the point of the game.

Length----While points will never, never, ever be deducted in a writer goes over the word limit, 2 points will be deducted if a writer is under the word limit.

7.) All writers must obey the General Story Rules.

The General Story Rules

Keep Stories G to PG 13 rated. This means:

1.) No Official Curse Words May be used. You know the ones I mean. There will be no using of Curse Word subsitutes. Again, you know what I mean. Cursing is allowed, Writers just have to be creative and say things like “BY ODIN’S Hammer” or the such like.

2.) If your character wishes to be involved with that hot guy or hot chick, PLEASE SPARE THE AUDIENCE. You do not need to go into details. If you must include these adult situations, be creative in your references to a night spent in the barn, but no details.

3.) Violence is allowed, but guts, blood, gore, and other nasty stuff involved with violence is not. Again, spare the audience the details.

Finally, 8.) Although I don’t want too…I reserve the right to create additional rules as neccesary, in case anyones imature. I also reserve the right to disqualify a story if necessary, or disqualify a writer in the the event of continous not following of the rules.

And th…..tha…..that’s all folks. For now that is.

If your interested in Joining:

First Read the Rules, and follow the instructions you find.

Second, Pay the Fable Fee to Dinranwen.

Third, Make a post of your intent to join the game. You will have 1 week to join before the start of Round One, after round one starts anyone can join at anytime inbetween rounds, SEE Rule Number 5.

Round 2: The Setting

The Task: The Setting

The Challenge: To display skill in creating, introducing, and describing a Setting. The Challenge is also to describe the setting sufficiently in as few words as possible. Round 2 is basically practice in a task all writers have to accomplish when they first begin a story.

The Fee: Entry Fee is 10 fables for this round.

Length: Entries should be no shorter then 200 words. While no penalties will be given if an author writes a lengthy entry, try to keep the entries below 1000 words. This increases the challenge as it poses the difficulty of describing a character as in little words as possible.

Round Begins: Round 2 will begin when the voting for Round 1 is completed. Or in about 1 to 2 weeks.

Round Ends: To Be Decided.

Other rules: Your character should be the one describing the setting. At the end of the telling, the story should return to your character before ending.

Judging: To be Decided The Point system will be used in an event of a tie.

~ ~ ~

Fable Prize Counter:

Round 1 Pot: 7.5 Fables (Will be rounded)

Grand Prize Pot: 7.5 Fables (Will be rounded to nearest whole number at the end of the game)

Players so Far:

Dinranwen as---Your Host
Greek-Girl as---Jason
MasterWeaver---To be introduced

sorry, am not criticizing or anything, but you talk about how this will be a place for writers to do a none committed story and relax... then you have a long list of rules, sorry I just had to point that out. But this really dose sound like a great idea, when I have time to read everything, all give it a go :D

Lordy! You know perfectly well what I mean! However, if a writer truly does not know, which I doubt, then the following will go into play: If a writer disobeys the rules, they will recieve a warning, and will have a short period to change/edit their story after which the story will be disqualified.

Bookwizard, the rules are not ment to make things difficult but rather to make things easier on everyone, including myself. There in place because unfortunatly, there are Ifians like Lordy, and worse *shudders* around.

Everyone there has been a slight change of the rules to clarify a few things. Again, I'm not trying to be difficult or make things complicated, just trying to cover my butt...I've been around the block a few times around IF and I wasn't exactly born yesterday. While all these rules may not be neccesary, if they weren't in place they would quickly become NECCESSARY....so I just put up now so I wouldn't have to later and so make life a little easier for you and for me.

Round 1 begins today.

The setting will be purposefully all inclusive so writers will be free to create any character of any race, breed, kind, or shape.

Enjoy or Not, but remember you can never eat too many Girl Scouts.

In the late hours of the night, the sun sunk in the sky preparing to set casting upon itself a coat of red orange before it sank to its final burst of color and brilliance that was its last gift to this world. The color of the sun dyed the buildings of the city of Caliar (Call-R) a brilliant bronze, stained the cobblestone streets with the shade of rubies, and mixed with the deep waters of the river Calia that was the city’s lifeblood until the river itself was the color of fool’s gold. False colors of things that pretended to be that which they were not suited Caliar well, for Caliar was a city of opportunist, merchants, dreamers, fortune seekers, performers, storytellers, and all manner of men who were pirates and thieves in all but name. Caliar was even home to some who were pirates and thieves in truth, but the men and women of Caliar imagined themselves honorable men of a particular breed and if pirate then those who held to the old code, and if thief one of those who had honor if only among themselves.

Caliar was a strange city stained by many cultures, weathers, and surroundings much as the sun stained its very streets. Set on the outermost point of a peninsula that jut the river Calia that poured into the Mediatitating Bay that touched the lands of Natilia, Greeco, Frica, Gypti, Rabia, Contanstaplian, and many more besides it was privileged with the resources and the position to trade with all these cultures. Independent, loyal to no nation, with forts and men enough to enforce the rules of no wars within the strong walls of its city, Caliar had become home to traders who wished to trade with all no matter who held the sword for or against the lands of their birth. Trade had come, and with trade, traders, men who brought their families who gave birth to children creating a mixed breed of men were all kindred’s and kinds no matter what their form were welcome.

The streets and buildings that lined the ports beyond the safety of the walls were home to greatest of variety were breeds and kindred’s were still distinct and cultures still held to themselves. It was in these streets pirates, thieves, merchants, and dreamers roamed rather then in the controlled city of Caliar itself making the taverns and inns their home.

There was one Tavern in the district of the southern port that had become quiet famous for its wide variety of clientele of debatable virtues and purpose that nevertheless was renowned for the lack of fights within its wall. But most of all, it was famous for a single hour of the night, a tradition which some said guaranteed a persons safety under the sign of the Tent of Rabia, a habit which occurred every night in that Tavern shortly after the sun completed its descent but the sky was still lit with the pale light of the dusk.

A Rabian man, Herrick, a man of a race known for their tanned faces dark beards and their curved swords, had established the tavern with his wife after a life time at sea performing acts which made his wrath feared and his words few. The tavern named the Tent of Rabia earned its name well for inside the dark oak doors set into the white brick of the building; a whole another world lived and breathed still. Upon entering, the door one was greeted with a wall lined with shoes of various shapes and sizes, a sight remarkable in itself since the men who frequented the bar were those who had to leave usually left in a hurry if the guards of Caliar even breathed within a mile of the place. Soft tapestries and fabrics coated the walls in bright colors hiding the hard brick behind their luminous folds. No seats, no stools, nor any chair was placed upon the grounds of the tavern. Rather the floor was covered with low couches, pillows, and rugs, and in the middle of the tavern, a downward step marked a large square covered even more richly with pillows. Within that square the only table, a low dark stained oak barely raised from the floor, granted the people who sat in the fabar, as such a thing was called, a place to set their drinks and where the host always set a great communal feast each night for a meal guest paid well to eat.

Yet was not the mysterious yet well known man who had established the tavern nor the beautiful decorations that made the place famous, but rather his bronze skinned wife who wore her hair under bright colored scarves whose wrinkled skin but bright shining dark eyes told of million lives lived and thousand more yet to be breathed. Her name was said to be Shevivian, and if was to believed, she was the daughter of the woman who kept her life by holding her husband captive with stories enough to last one thousand and one nights. Yet, men said that Shevivian herself, if it can be true, had more then enough stories in her mouth to last ten thousand such nights.

It was Shevivian, when her face was just beginning to surrender to the demands of age and her form still supple and beautiful, who in her loneliness in a strange land asked her customers that first night she had come to the Tent of Rabia to take part in a tradition she and her mother before her had shared. The tradition of the sharing of stories, an hour spent in the night with the sharing of tales. Her request had been granted, and so it had been ever since even though Shevivian herself had stopped telling tales because of the voice age had given her, Shevivian had never stopped asking her guest to tell tales, and her guest had never once refused her.

So it was that the usuals of the Tent of Rabia, took out their watches nodded and made themselves comfortable as some watched the doors to see what new victims the night would bring and others watched the still gorgeous Shevivian stand and say, “The time nears when we will tale our tales, let all who know their tradition tell the strangers near them of it so they may know what shall be asked of them, and what shall happen if by chance they refuse.”

~ ~ ~

(Example Contest Entry: )

A pair of bare feet swung lazily of the edge of the low couch upon which their owner apparently rested at ease releasing the scent of rose water and revealing an olive skinned native of Natlia. Nervously Gwenhwyfar adjusted with pale olive skinned and ink stained hands the hem, vainly trying cover yet another inch of her calves to hide them from the starring eyes that she self-consciously imagined. The dark olive-green of the more the generously sized dress suited her coloring well, she only wished it did not do it quiet so well. Yet, she wore it to reveal the connections of Ierie’s shore that stirred beneath her Natlia inherited skin tone and also, it was after all her family’s color and she wore it loyally despite her family was far away and known not all even within their home city of Caliar. The dress despite being three sizes to large and two sizes too short suited Gwenhwyfar perfectly, it hide everything about her figure besides her calves revealed by the short hemline and her tanning freckled olive toned arms revealed by the short sleeves. The dress left everything to the imagination, which she loved, and even more perfectly, it managed to stay on her shoulders and never slipped too low despite being too large for her size.

Tucking her legs up under a bit more, Gwenhwyfar adjusted the book of blank paper on her lap and dipped her pen yet again into the ink trying to catch as quick as possible a sketch of this place before the telling of stories began so that the pen would be free to record the unfolding of tales. So great was her rush that she splashed yet more ink unto her arms adding to the line of dots and stains that already marked her hands and arms. Biting her lips, Gwenhwyfar’s large and wandering brown eyes starred worriedly at her her stained dress and arms only to smile then chuckle as she realized that a line of dots on her left looked curiously like the lightening bolt the constellation of Odin held in his hand and the newest splash looked like a giant star. Chuckling a little, Gwenhwyfar looked down the nose that lurked somewhere in-between the sharp large curve noses of Natlia and the small gently curved noses of Ierie as she finished her sketch until with a swift signing of her name, she pronounced her sketch finished.

Setting pad and ink stand aside, Gwenhwyfar reached upwards and deftly untwisted the braid of hair setting free her long straight reddish brown hair in a cascade of color pleasant sensation of sound and sight down to her mid-back.

Lifting her head up, Gwenhwyfar was just in time to hear the hostess of tavern make her strange announcement. Leaning closely to her neighbor, her eyes widened as all was explained to her. She knew that they told tales here, but never in her wildest dreams did she expect to tell tales herself. Nodding once to show she her understood, she leaned back her expressive eyes a mixture of fascination and fear as she racked her brain for any tale she herself could tell.

((This entry would earn 10 points, it follows all the rules, meets the challenge, and is at least 100 words. It is 533 words long, so its close as possible to being 500 words. This though it counts as my entry is just an example, however poor an example it may be. All my posts will not be judged, as I’m doing this for fun and I don’t think it would be fair if I won. ))

(Note: I'm introducing a character in one of my {temporarily shelved} sg's as the storytelling persona; hopefully it will help me get the iderium flowing again for it)

The stars whizzed past the small window in Captain Sayers' quarters as he shuffled papers around on his desk, trying to appear calm. Legally, he couldn't refuse to interview a qualified candidate for the recently vacated pilot position, but he'd already made up his mind what his answer would be. Given Mr. Grey's past, he was surprised he'd had the nerve to apply in the first place, even if he had received an official pardon. No, Justin Grey was not someone he cared to be affiliated with, and he was certain nothing the ex-criminal could say would change his mind. The sound of a buzzer on his intercom broke into his thoughts, and the somewhat nasally voice of his assistant sounded over the frequency.

"Captain? Mr. Grey is here for his interview."

"Hmm? Oh, Thank you Odin, show him in please."

Being in the resolute state of mind that he was, Sayers got his first shock when Justin entered his office. This wasn't the hardened criminal he'd seen nearly every day on public safety alerts for the past two years. His physical appearance was unaltered: same blonde hair and blue eyes, same tall and athletic build, but the confidence and pride he usually carried with him were gone. His broad shoulders were slumped, and his eyes half-closed as if in the grip of supreme exhaustion. He strode slowly, almost haltingly across the room and lowered himself gingerly into the seat as if afraid of injuring himself. He sat in silence, not making eye contact with his potential employer, perfectly still like a child sent to the principal's office.

It took Sayers a moment to regain his bearings; this wasn't at all what he'd expected. After an awkward silence, he pulled himself together and faced the young man squarely, if he was trying to curry sympathy by pretending to be penitent it would be more difficult than that.

"Mr. Grey? I, um, was somewhat surprised by your application."

Justin smiled in a sad, quiet way.

"Yes, I can see why you would be."

Sayers, despite his stern persona as a deep-space Captain, was really something of a softie at heart, and it was all he could do to keep from feeling sorry for the young person in front of him. He cleared his throat a few times, and decided the most direct approach would be best.

"Hmm, anyway, to get right to the point,” Here he did his best to look shrewd and commanding, "Can you give me one good reason why I should hire you Mr. Grey? I mean, what makes you think you have a chance of getting a job with a respectable organization after...everything?"

"I don't think I do Sir."

"I beg your pardon?"

"I know I probably won’t be hired, I applied merely on the hope of getting this assignment."

"Hope? No one else will give you a job?"

Justin coughed nervously and shifted in his seat.

"Actually, that isn't the case. I do have one offer, on a bigger operation actually."

"Then why apply for a deep space position? Do you...feel the need to escape the public eye?"

Justin said nothing for a long time, staring at the ground and fiddling with his security clearance badge. When he spoke he did so without looking up.

"I believe I mentioned the reason on my application, Sir."

Sayers felt a slight stab of embarrassment at this, he hadn’t actually read the whole thing, the name alone had been enough for him. He hastily grabbed the stack of papers from his desk drawer and paged though them, trying to look like he knew what he was looking for.

"Ah, yes. I think it was located...here we go. You say you recently-"

Sayers did a double take at the page in front of him, and stumbled to find his voice.

"You suffered a loss? Of...a 'personal friend'?"

Justin laughed bitterly and ran his hand though his hair.

"Probably the best friend I had, I was just too stupid to realize it at the time."

"Oh, I'm very sorry Mr. Grey. Um, but, as sorry as I am for your loss, I don't see what that has to do with your qualifications."

"It has everything to do with them, Sir."

The sudden force of Justin's assertion took Sayers by surprise. Justin was looking at him with an intensity that had been absent until now. Obviously he'd touched a raw nerve.

"I'm afraid I don't understand Mr. Grey, would it be too much to ask you to explain?"

Justin slumped back into his chair, an expression of confusion taking over his face.

"It's a long story, several long stories really, that don't seem to connect at all until the very end...I'm not even sure where to begin."

Sayers stared keenly at the young man for several minutes, his curiosity rising. This interview was turning out much more interesting than he'd expected. He swept the papers of the desk and leaned forward, his chin resting on his knuckles.

"Just start at the beginning, I've got all the time in the world."

"Thank you, Sir. I guess to start at the very beginning, I'd have to go all the way back to what happened at Caliar..."

Thank you GG. If no one else enters before March 5th, You will automatically receive the 5 fables (as I can't win).

As far as points it would receive a perfect 10, however I would perfer that the introduction for RPG reasons automatically tie into the setting that posted for this game.

Something along the lines of...."It all began in a Tavern called the Tent of Rabia" Or "It all began in a city called Caliar", or something like that at the tale end of your entry will do fine.

I'm still accepting players for Round 1, and sincerly hope to see more interest in this soon. Don't worry, I don't quit easily. Just ask around....

Sure thing, I can add that in. Would the sci-fi setting still fit with the main setting though?

Defintely, anything will fit with a stretch of the imagination. Notice no information as to time period, genre, or world was given so if so if a character walked in with legs like a catus, a body like a fir tree, and a head like a raging babboon....well it might take a little explaining but as long as it was explained there is no reason it couldn't work if a writer was creative enough.

Although this will all be unfolded graduallly during the story here's the basics now...

Caliar is set in what basically equalitvates to a parellel earth, notice the names (Natlia-Italty, Rabia-Arabia, Ierie-Ireland, etc). In fact, if Caliar is based of the historical island of Trepili home to pirates that the Newly born Marines defeated before our country was divided by the horror of the civil war. Time wise, well, strictly speaking there is no time setting per say. Therefore a sci-fi space character would be just as welcome as a traditional knight from the dark ages. The sci-fi character is explained by being from a more advance world or more advance part of the world where Caliar exist, whereas the knight could be explained from a less advanced world or a more tradition holding world or even from one of the nocks and crannies that an open setting, such as the one I posted here, allows writers to create.

As long as you can explain how you character got there....Then well Anything pretty much goes....

With a shiver and a shrug, a strange semihumanoid ducked through the door and entered the tent of Rabia. She looked around, carefully wiped her ski-like feet on the entry mat, and began a gracful walk towards an empty space on the floor, nearly scraping the cieling of the tavern with her head. Finally, she folded up her long, triple-jointed leags into a crossed sitting position. The pistons in her slender arms gave nary a squeak as she folded up her giant ice pick. Icicle blue eyes the size of goblets peered over the assembled as she idily adjusted her azure hair braids. The ultramarine metal that comprised most o her body shimmered slightly as she leaned toward her neighbor to discover what was going on.

"Excuse me, sir," she inquired in a quiet voice, "What is happening?"

The man looked at her grey-scaled face. "By Odin, do you not know of the story hour?"

"No. I am sorry, I came from the Alaya mounts, and this is my first journey out of them."

The man shrugged. "You will be called upon to give a tale. Those who ar considered by Shevivian to have the best will recieve a token of thanks."

The blue female nodded in thanks, and returned to a sitting position. Perhaps it would be a good night tonight, though under a foeeign star...

Welcome to the Story Hour MW.

If no one else enters, a poll will be held after March 5th to determine wheither you or GG has the best entry.

The Prize for Round 1 is now 7.5 Fables.

Remember the more people who enter, the bigger the prize so requrit anyone you can find.

I'm still accepting new particpants, so please feel free to join.

After this Round is Over, I will delete all the places where I require to quote things to join. It was just to make sure everyone read the rules for the first Round at least. And as you can tell, I'm not being particularly picking about the quoting either.

Good luck.

And MW *coughs and points to script that reads* "Since you've read this change in rules, you will obversly note to post the word Star in your Round One entry". Despite this little overlook....your entry will still recieve 10 points since it is a descripition (therefore meets the challenge) and is at least 100 words long. I'll give to March 5th to fix your one mistake, but if you don't I'll have to deduct 2 points from your entry...which I hate to do but I can't make an exception to the rules now can I? Well, I can, but I won't. *please note I'm being very, very nice.....I'm starting to scare myself*

Does that mean we can post the next story for our character now? Or are you just accepting new contestants?

Round 2 begins Today! New Contestants will be accepted for next three weeks. (Will look up Date) Entries should be in by April 19th or the closest Wesdenday near that date (will look up). ~ ~ ~

Inside the Tent of Rabia the setting sun entered through a certain hole in the time curtain which was a great tapestry of the sun rays with holes where the sun if at certain angle would shine through telling the time on the far wall of the Tavern.

Flicking her hand through the weak shaft of light, Shervivian smiled mercilessly causing many hearts to wish they were but a few years younger or older as the years faded from Shervivian's face.

"It is time," the hostess of the Tent of Rabia chanted, "To begin the Story Hour." Settling into her soft couch with a luxious stretch, Shervivian waved her hands over her guest. "I wish to hear of some new place. Tell me, guest, where have you're travels taken you in the past 2 moons? Let it be brief, yet take me where my aged limbs cannot and let all tell this little piece. Nevertheless, save the stories of how, why, and whens for later, I only wish to be transported somewhere in my mind to set the tone for the stories yet to come."

Sorry I've been gone so long. My parents surprised us with a vacation, and I just got back. I had fun though!

I get this organized ASAP.

Please pay your fee if you entering this round before Wesdenday next week!

Again, so sorry.

Smores,

Din

If there is no response to this in 2 weeks, I'll see what I can do about deleting it.

*sighs heavily*

Well shyes. Unfortunately, we believe/know the RL has taken a a firm grip on Din right now and we don't know if she'll be coming back anytime soon, though we hope she does.

However! You are welcome to head this back up again if you would like. Maybe get some others interested and let us know.

Sincerely,
SirWaxaLot

I had figured that was the case. I figured if Din wandered in, checked out the new posts and saw my message it might give some encouragement to revive it.

Actually, I would be willing to try setting up something like this, but I'm not sure I'd be comfortable stealing Din's idea without getting approval first.

On the other hand, this could be a good first project for GRO (the Games Rescue Organization), an Ifian environmentalist group dedicated to cultivating the survival of endangered games. For more information please see the topic (soon to be)posted in Forums! :big:

:scared: *Realizes what she's just done*
