Welcome to the world of the Labyrinth Library, I noticed that some people have missed the deadline for the 2nt earth, so heres your chance to get involved in something.

Setting and plot: Larthern was once a beautiful and peaceful world, until the Library appeared, then misery came. It was a nice sunny day when it happened, one moment nothing was there, the next moment something was. The great building that seemed to materialize out of thin air was on top of a hill side and was fairly big, somehow much bigger on the inside, in fact there was almost a whole new world on the inside, but no one in Lanthern could have known that. No-one approached it for many days, but then a man came down from the hill and gave town's folk and the rest of the inhabitants of Lanthern many riches. The lightened there fear, and he said that there were many more riches to be had within the great building that had materialized on the hill, what he claimed to be a library. So it came to be that almost half the population of Lanthern found themselves entering this library, none of them were ever seen again. Soon war broke out and plagues and drought, and Lanthern became a horrible place, but our story lies within the building on the hill, not outside it. All the people who entered the library were met by an immense breathtaking world of rows of bookshelf's, but large amounts of architecture to. Bridges, and great towers covered in books, the library was all over the place, it was a whole new endless world covered with all the books in existence. The people of Lanthern (being very famous for there literature) were first overjoyed, but then they found that the door had diapered. No one to this day knows why any of this happened, but the people of Lanthern still live in this Labyrinth Library today. They live of some of the strange creatures and plants that miraculously live in the library, and there are now villages and towns built among the book shelfs. Different classes have now developed, so long after the incident, and most of the people have forgotten there origins. There are the villagers, who stay in one place for there whole life's, be it in a village or a lone house. There are the Scholars who also mostly dedicate there life's to one part of the library and study it extensively. Then there are the philosophers who are constantly traveling and learning of all the knowledge, and are very wise as well. Then there are the bandits, the outcasts who steal from villages and weary travelers, among other things. Last but not least there are the Warriors, who travel, and offer there protection, from bandits, and the more dangerous creatures of the library...

Here is my character, use him as an example

Name: Septumus Grenarth

Class(villager, scholar, philosopher, bandit, warrior): philosopher

Description(can be a picture or normal description):

Personality: Always has a kind face, and is ready to help, has a very thoughtful manner as well. Doesn't talk much and is always somewhere far away in his mind. But absolutely brilliant and intelligent, but very modest about it. Dreams of exploring the who of the Labyrinth Library, during his lifetime. A horrible warrior though, but still has a knife conceal on his person at all times.

Background: He was a villager as a boy, he lived in a small secluded house in a remote place in the labyrinth. One day a great philosopher came by and inspired him, and soon he was soaking up knowledge like a sponge, later he left his home to become a philosopher, and became a darn good one at that.

This all starts in the growing town of Barthenon.. good luck everyone

Name: Crrek'trenot Feshar
Class: Undecided
Description: Man was not the first race to fall to the library. Crrek'trenot is slightly taller than a man and has strange, yellow skin, but otherwise resembles an average human. He also has a photographic memory.
Personality: Niave, but not in the way the word normally means. He is all too aware of the dangers of the labyrinth, but also belives he himself is safe, thanks to the warriors. While he has made some excursions outside his hoe, they have never been very far and he has always returned home.
Background: A normal story. He grew up with his family in a multi-species community and has not yet left home.

This is your first time hosting an RP, isn't it? A little word to the wise: Classes are cosidered profressions, not necessitys. No character needs a class and many role players deliberatly leave the vocation of their character vague so he can develop over time.

All that said, I select the class of villager, wih a touch of warrior and a sprinkling of scholar.

Name: Jay Jay

Class: Warrior

Appearance: Covered in armor made from leatherbound books (most scholars and philosophers hate him for this.) Small in stature. He has brown scruffy hair and carries a stone club (made from bits of the labyrinth) with a sharpened edge down one side.

Personality: Really doesn't care for books but being surrounded by them makes him knowledgable in the things he does love, and thats fighting, engineering and basic survival in labyrinths.

Background: Was a villager with a scholar family. Was pushed towards books so much by his father he decided to break the old mans nose and walk out on his own. He's hasn't seen anyone he knows in years and has forgotten where his village used to be. He likes escorting people through the rougher parts of the labyrinth just for the company.

Name:Rhyah
Personality: Brutally Self-Efficiant, Rhyah needs no help and gives none in return. She's blunt, honest, and highly tolorant of pain, suffering, and miserable conditions. Keenly intelligent, Rhyah has the cunning of a wolf and the charisma of a fox. She never underestimates a foe nor undervalues the worth of even the most innocuous object. Rhyah has a nose for finding that which should have been left alone and adapting it to suit her needs.

Background: Once a feared warrior, betrayal by those she held in highest confidence has turned her into a bandit who's name is reluctantly whispered. She has a reputation for leaving a sea of blood on her wake and cleaning out rival bandit dens. Most honest travelers who've encountered her find her strange as she'll search their bags, take what she finds of interest, and leave them unharmed as long as no resistance is offered and no pursuit given.

Now we have two bandits, one honourable and one who likes shiny things. I'm not sure that being a magpie is inhonourable but i doubt he cares for anyones well being even the slightest... unless that person can lead him to more shiny things. I can't wait for this to start, one or even two more characters maybe before we do?

All give a little more time for some more people to sigh up, preferably only one, but if that doesn't happen, then we will be fine.

Oh and I forgot to put in a description of the city of Barthenon, so here it is...

Barthenon is a fairly big city compared to the small ones that speckled the Labyrinth Library, and it is still being added on to here and there. It was build right next to something that most people refer to as "THE WALL", this is a giant wall seemingly stopping the library at one end. But on closer inspection you would see that it is speckled with many different passages, curved with bookshelf's on ether side. No one has ever made it through these passages and came back. The wall was closer to the bad side of town, where most of the bandits stayed. Also seeing as the town was constructed on top of the shelves, there was a large amount of dark passages below filled with books, this area was refereed to as "the mines". Where the poorer citizens sough refuge, and where many villagers worked tirelessly to find rare books, for rare books were always in high demand by the scholars. Who were commonly rich, they were in such high demand that soon rare books stores started to develop, and the villagers who found there rare books, would just bring them there.

Name: Julius

Class: Philosopher

Background: His father, 8 at the time, was in the first party that entered the Library. His father had at first taken no interest in any of the books, but then had found a very special book. It held some secret, as both Julius and his father were sure. Although, it had no greatness to it, it seemed to be a key to a larger secret, hidden deep within the Library. Ever since his father had died at 76, he has devoted his life to finding what he calls, although it probably isn't the only one, the "secret of the Library". In order to do this, he became, easily and with much natural skill, a philosopher. In searching for the great secret, he has found many lesser ones, and has learned from books great abilities and powers, although none too fancy. He travels usually alone for his personal quest, but sometimes he travels with other philosophers for common interests. He never hires protection, for unknown reasons, yet never is troubled by thieves. This may be because his greatest belief is that his knowledge is his only treasure, and that is all he need take with him. He wears a white robe, for reasons he explains as "comfort", although there is a deeper reason.
His only treasure other than his knowledge is his beautiful sword, which he found a few months ago in his search for the secret, and which he knows is another clue...

Carry on, book, good idea.

Personality: Kaine is a calculated and cold person to those who don't know him but to his friends he is warm and loyal. In recent years he has become quieter and now spends days buried in books

Background: Kaine was a loud rouge of a young gent who had been wrapped on the knuckles many a time by the local law, but then his younger sister fell sick and Kaine dedicated day and night reading books on medicine and chemistry after deserting all the resources he had to his disposal with no answer Kaine turned to the library in desperate search for answers but he soon become lost and has been trapped there since

Ok all start:
Septumus walked down the odd streets of Barthenon fairly happy, he had been wondering this section of the Library for quite a while now looking for this new city, and had finally found it. He had heard that it was on its way to becoming one of the biggest cities yet, and a large amount of scholars were flocking there from nearby villages. It would be a great place to earn a bit of money, maybe even stay a while in. Septumus had been traveling for a while, he felt a good rest was in order, and from here maybe he could find out a bit more about what he had been hearing lately. He had heard that a certain philosopher here was looking for a secret to the library, and wanted to help him, because he had found something that he could vaguely understand himself, and could probably help this philosopher on his quest. Anyways, he had never really ever officially met another philosopher seeing as there were so few of them these days. But first things first, Septumus slowly headed to one of the nice rare book shops and walked in, and after a quick exchange on a leather bound book and a sack of coins he was out. This had been a good deal, he had not know he would fetch such a good price for the book he had found, but you never new with those book sellers. He slowly started to walk to the town square, maybe someone would be interested in some of his wisdom there... and maybe he could ask around about any other philosophers that had been in town.

Far away on the outskirts of town, the hunched figure of Grima quietly stalked a stray cat.
"Hmm... eats good tonight yes yes yes" he thought to himself, "nice pretty bells on collar too"
Then he pounced, the cat made no sound as grima snapped its neck. "Yesss... eats good" he said.

Septumus arrived at the town square and sat down by a wall comfortable... he then proceeded to pull out a book to read in the dim light of the library. For no one really knew where the light came from, it still got light during the day and fell very dark at night though, the mystery of it may never be explained. Everyone who saw him reading would know that he was a philosopher, for scholars would never read out in the open. Eventually someone came up to him "can I help you" Septumus said with a smile. "Oh yes" said the villager "lately I have been bothered by a question that no one can answer for me, a deep question that I feel absolutely needs to be answered to me". "Ok then, fire away" said Septumus... and of course the villager asked the most common question asked "where did we all come from and how did we end up here. So septumus told him the story of Lanthern and of the people who supposedly lived in the library before the Lantherneians, all of which he had discovered in a small journal that he had found that was written by one of the Lanthereians. It was one of the books that he kept in his nap sack and never gave away. After he was finished the villager thanked him and just walked away, Septumus frowned, usually he would get some token of thanks, not that he absolutely needed one at the moment, but he was trying to save up...

Several minutes later though the villager came up handed Septumus a small book and then ran away, this was a strange day indeed septumus thought, he would look at the book later.

Byron confuses me. Are you, book, the only one allowed to write? I had thought that we were to only suggest after a chapter was released. Or is this a different kind of story?

Rhyah crouched, waiting, as the guards came nearer and nearer to her hiding space. It was obvious that they were unnerved by the carnage through which they waded, their boots squelching nastily through what had, scarcely and hour before, been human beings. The younger of the two was looking faint, having already voided his stomach of all contents. The elder had paled under his salt and pepper moustache. Rhyah licked her lips, eyes already fixing on the amulet the elder guard wore. It was an interesting piece and something in her mind told her she had to have it.

Another pair of steps brought the men close enough and she burst from cover without a sound. Before the guards knew what had happened, her massive blade had neatly parted their heads from their necks. As dying eyes blinked at her, Rhyah lifted the amulet clear of the body, using a patch of the slain guard's cloak to wipe the worst of the gore off. Then, without comment, she secured the amulet to her wrist and flicked the gore from her blade before sheathing it.

Scaling several of the shelves, she easily gained the top of The Wall, surveying the outlying city around her. She still didn't have what she'd come to Barthenon for. Until it was in her possession, the guards were going to have an interesting time.

Kaine rushed quickly across the town square he carried a large high stack of books that covered his eyes so it was no surprise when he tripped the books scattered every where one sliding off and hitting a mans leg who was sat on the wall.

Kaine scattered about on his hands and needs collecting the books but then he stopped and broke down into tears crying quietly in the square

Julius walked slowly through the square, making mental notes of everything he saw. After a few minutes, he had created an entire mental map. He began drawing a rough map of the city. Julius always did this. He had been doing it all his life, and as a result, he had 483 different maps. Some of cities, like this one, some of the vast labyrinth, and some purely focused on the trail to the next clue. He finished by sketching a rare book shop ( this was his destination ). He had read in the last clue that to find the secret, company was needed. So, he figured, the best way to find the right sort of people for his mission was to wait in a rare book shop. He was confident that he would find another philosopher in at most a week ( philosophers always visit these stores, to sell their findings, or in some cases to check up on particularly good books). He opened the door, and silently stepped inside.

After an hour of dosing off, Septumus decided to look at the book that was given to him as payment, he expected it to be something worthless, and that just made his surprise all the more stunning. He stared open mouthed at the book, for it was a copy of "The List of the King". Hardly anyone knew what it was, but all philosefers were familer with it, as well as rare book sellers. It was just a large list of names, that was all, but somehow it had come to be one of the most expensive books in this area of the library. Septumus had no idea how the villager could have got hold of it, and he obusly dident know its value. Septumus slowly sliped it back into his bag, I cant use this now, am going to use it when absolutely necessary... septumus thought. But he would have to pay a visit to the rare book store and ask around a bit, because he had heard that some scholar was in possession of the book, and he wanted to find out if it was fake. This was turing out to be a very interesting day indeed.

Julius looked around the stuffy shop, spying the shopkeeper handing a book to a man, who ,by the look of him, was a fellow philosopher. However the man left the shop before Julius could do anything, so he continued with his business. He pulled out three books and set them with care, onto the counter. The shopkeeper looked them over, smiled contently, and handed him a small leather bag. Julius then walked out of the shop, pondering who the man was, and whether he would be able to find him again. He felt that the man could help him somehow...

As Septumus was walking back to the shop the most amazing thing happened, he met another philosopher for the first time in his life. He somehow just new that the man walking down the street in front of him was a philosopher, he didn't know how or why he knew, he just knew. He slowly walked up to the philosopher, and introduced himself "hello, it is nice to meet you, my name is Septumus Grenarth, by any chance might you be a philosopher".

Rhyah slowly pried open her eyes, aching muscles protesting as she forced herself to her feet. She wasn't quite sure what had happened. One moment, she'd been on top of The Wall. Now she was enclosed in darkness, a single shaft of light pouring down from above. She must have fallen, she realized, into one of the many passages that riddled this place.

With a growled curse, she rubbed her wrists, not even the least bit startled when the amulet recently taken from the dead man burst into light. She'd had a feeling it would be useful and her feelings were rarely wrong. Now, lofting her wrist high, she began slowly down the tunnels. With any luck, she'd die quickly.

By the strangest luck, after only a few minutes wandering the square, the man he had seen previously walked up, shook his hand, introduced himself as 'Septumus', and inquired as to whether he was a philosopher.
"Indeed I am," replied Julius, "And by your manner, you are as well. I am very pleased to meet you, Septumus. This may seem odd, as you approached me, and a little sudden, but I must be forward. I feel that I need your help. I can sense that something amazing is about to happen. I feel this is not a chance meeting; fate has brought us together. I need you, if you would, to assist me on my possibly fatal quest. I need to find the secret of the library."

Septumus smiled broadly, "and you say am direct" he exclaimed, "here follow me, I know a place that we can talk. Septumus lead the philosopher to a small cafe, where he sat down at one of the more secluded tables. "I have been looking for you I believe, you are the one who is trying to decode the ultimate secret of the library" Septumus took a breath and continued "I found a book in the library not to long ago, it has no name to note, but it may greatly help you, both of us greatly, here sit down, we will get some food and then I will show you".

Jay Jay sat on a path just outside the the busier part of town between the cafe and the bookstore. He had fashioned a sign out recycled paper reading "cheap muscle" on the front. Leaning against the sign lazily, his weight snapped the weak cardboard. Now he was left with one half leaning on his legs whilst holding up the other. Finally after dropping half a sign and kicking another he decided enough was enough.

"Oi! You lot!" He addressed everyone in the area. "If ye don't bloody pay me to defend ye, then I'm gonnae bash yer heed in an' take everythin' yuv got!"

Many eyes were falling on Jay Jay's heavy looking cleaver thinking "I wonder how many people that has ended up in." Slowly the more intelligent of folk began to ease away until two philosophers by the cafe were left. Trapped in conversation they obviously had no idea what had happened. Jay Jay strutted up to them swinging his stone cleaver around.

"Right, you two." He hefted up the club and slammed it on the table. "If ye don't pay me to look after ye from myself, then I'm gonnae cave yer faces in. Awright! But don't let ma aggresivness fool ye. Am fierce loyal when am under contract." The little warrior gave a daft smile with a hint of sarcasm but a good cup full of sincerity.

Jay Jay stuck his hand out waiting on something to drop. He wouldn't actually mug the two of them, just steal the little cakes they were eating on the count he had not eaten for days.

"Do you have the book with you?" asked Julius. however, he didn't get an answer because a that moment, a man wearing makeshift armor of leather-bound books walked up and threatened to mug them if they did not hire him. "Excuse me, Septumus," Julius said, turning to face the warrior. "How much do you want for your services, bold one?"

Grima sees a man walking outside his shelter on the outside of town. He walks along quietly just a shelf away, "he he he, look ats the pretty scepter he carries, it can be mine" thought he. There, the man had stopped he looked around apprehensivly. " stay back demon" the man said. Grima crawled behind him and quickly dug his nails into the mans eyes. The man screamed and grima finished it quickly, Grima dug his fingers into the mans chest, and ripped out his still beating heart. Thump thump Thump thump...

Rhyah felt the darkness pressing against her skull like a physical weight. Only the thin glow of the amulet, flooding the area around her and banishing the darkness, kept her from sinking to that animalistic level that dwelled within her. It was a level of self she'd never have conceived of using before 'it' had happened. Yet now she had, on more than one occasion, indulged in it's use. Now was not the time though. The darkness wasn't an enemy that could simply be destroyed by the swing of a blade. Without a foe to cut down, she could easily be trapped in that low level of consiousness, that beastial state.

A rustle echoed from around her, the source staying just out of the light. She felt a presence, a menace, a preditor watching her. Or a judge judging her.
