((okay. I can reword my last post then for you. thanks!))
Tek stares at the bewildered woman in concern, and hands her one of the extra veils from her belt pouch.
"Here. Wrap this around your face to keep the sand clear. Now.. what do you mean 'where is here'? Don't you know where you are? We're on the edge of the gardening greenhouse district. I assume you must work there or something.. not too many folks are headed to the greenhouses in the middle of a sandstorm!"
Dusting some loose sand from the folds in her tunic, Tek looks around, surveying the area and assessing the damage with a frown.
"Hmm. I just hope my shipments weren't all ruined. I had clients waiting." |

| Philip looked content and triumphant as the man walked out of the door sulkily, and then stepped off the alter and payed his respects to the priest. He then walked out of the door himself and headed for the main church, he was going to check on the work of the Cathedral, It was nearing completion. |

Mariana looked at the ground and gasped at the sight of the merchandise spread about. Her years of training took over, and she bent down to help.
"I'm sorry, I didn't real-" The woman was laughing.
"Is there anything funny?" Mariana frowned. She hated it when people were laughing, especially at her.
"Most people in this town wouldn't stoop to clean up, let alone apologise for tripping me up. I'm just surprised, is all."
"Oh. Ok then. And to answer your question, I wasn't here when I became unconscious. I was in the palace, near the reseach greenhouses. As you can see by my uniform, I work there."
"What uniform? You're just wearing plain street clothes." Mariana looked down at her clothes and gasped again, this time more out of anger than shock. Someone had taken her uniform - a uniform she had never been without. |

Tek looked at Mariana in confusion.
"So.. those aren't your clothes? I mean, someone stole your uniform while you were unconscious, and then moved your body? Why would someone do that?"
Sighing, she bundles the last of the dropped items into a large square of cloth from her pockets, and hitches it over her shoulder like a purse.
"So what next? I don't like the thought of hanging around here if there's some sort of people-snatcher wandering around. Are you so important that people lie in wait trying to steal your clothes?"
Her eyes twinkling with supressed friendly laughter, Tek tried to lighten the situation and comfort the stranger. Holding out a well calloused palm,
"I'm Tek, merchant extraordinaire, at your service. And who are you?" |

| Tasni opened his eyes slowly. He felt nauseous, and his vision was blurry. He lay in some torn up bed of sorts. I lifted his head up and looked around. He was still in the old urchin church he had stumbled into. He rubbed his side onlt to brush against a cloth bandage. Who had tended his, of all people's, wounds? |

Zeta paced furiously back and forth in front of the main doors of the hospital. her hands were clenched into fists of rage and her face was set in angry lines.
'THIS IS RIDICULOUS!' she shouted at the group of people scattered around the room behind her.
'I MADE A MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH AND NOW WE ARE LOCKED IN HERE LIKE CAGED ANIMALS BECAUSE SOME IDIOT THINKS IT BETTER WE KEEP OUR DISCOVERY TO THEMSELVES?'
A light haired man approached her and lay a hand onher shoulder, she shrugged him off before turning on him... Her tone and face softened as she saw her mentor before her.
'Ezekiel - this is ridiculous!' She sputtered.
'Yes, i believe you have made that clear...' He motioned indicating the others in the room, all of who were sitting nervously watching her.
Zeta blushed red and smiled awkwardly...
'I'm so sorry.. its just that this is a momentous day in our history.. such a discovery could change our world forever and we can't tell anybody! They are baying for our blood out there btu if they just knew...' Zeta trailed off.
Ezekiel watched a stillenss come over her face and he knew at once that she was thinking. Her eyes lit up and he hoped she had come to the realisation that he had hoped she would.
'Eze?' She smiled at him, 'Could you please pass me my jacket and get the fellows to unlock these doors?' |

Tek looked townwards, as the sand cleared from the air.
"I need to find out how bad the damage is from all this." Grabbing Mariana by the arm, Tek points with her other hand.
"See that smoke on the horizon? Something isn't right in town. I don't understand what's going on, but it's bound to be damn bad for business! I need to find more Merchants to talk to- someone who can tell us what the hell has happened here! Do you know anyone? What do you DO anyway?" |

Mariana shook herself free. She had no idea of the politics of the city, and this seemed to have upset the balance in some way. However, if there was one thing she did know, it was that after a sandstorm like this there would be a lot of jobs to do back at the palace.
"I'm very sorry, but I cannot stay. As I said, I am just a lowly servant at the palce. I rarely venture into the rest of the city. I do not know my way around, and it would be dangerous for me to stay out any longer. If you can, please direct me to the palace and I will not bother you any more."
Tek sighed, but gave the directions nonetheless. They parted ways, and Mariana trotted off, with her strange cloths and sand-filled hair. Following Tek's directions to the letter, she soon arrived at the main servant's entrance, only to find it blocked, with a few Zealots guarding it. One, a huge, bald man with more scars than eyes, stepped up to her.
"What are you doing here? This area has been closed off!" |

Only time will tell whether saving the little girl and her pet wolf actually paid off. Zaed's teaching never directly addressed helping others even though general good conduct is an essential part of his dogma. Would helping a girl, who probably was a criminal anyway, actually do any good or merely help her spread evil the you hooligans were about to stop? No time pondering those questions would give Theodorus a clear answer, so he decided to leave the topic alone. He had made his decision and he would act the same way again.
He had just ended his thoughts and opened his eyes just to see a young girl walking in. No-one was to enter and that girl was no exception, especially as she had nothing indicating a special permission. The situation was far from extraordinary; drunkards, homeless and other lazybones tried to get into the cathedral on a daily basis and the same problem seemed be present here at the palace as well. It was good luck, to an extent at least, that Theodorus did not normally work here, he was there merely to go escort the cardinal who was already in, so now there was nothing for him but to go home. However, he had no intention of letting the girl into the palace. To him there were two kinds of intruders: the ones who understand when they are dismissed verbally and the ones who need some physical encouragement to realize their presence is not called for.
"So brat, take a hike, you ain't entering the site..." Theodorus continue in a low voice and watched the kid straight to the eyes. |

| Philip finely arrived at the new cathedral building sight after a fairly long walk. He walked up to the master builder who was sitting at a small wooden table looking through some of the cathedral plans, his name was Tom. "hows the work going" said Philip merrily. The master builder looked up, "absolutely wonderful sir, its going spectacularly, only about a year now and it will be finished. It will be the most beautiful cathedral in this region, and surly outdate the older one. I will truly show the great brilliance of zeal to all of his willing subjects". "This is wonderful news, if you need me I will be in the old cathedral at the opposite end of town, I plan to call a holy meeting. All priests and others in the town will be there, and I even hear one of the cardinals has arrived". With that Philip walked away and put out a call for all religious leaders in the town to come to the old cathedral for a great holy meeting. |

| "I do not care whether or not you made the sermon, it's your eternal soul that's on the line, not mine. Whatever excuses you can conjure does not affect your fate, only actions and conviction do," answered Theodorus and it was clear he meant every word of it. |

| Theodorus started walking away from the palace and initially ignored the question before grunting "Tomorrow, 07:00." He saw no other words to be necessary and he headed to his apartment to eat his dinner. |

| Evanthe watched him for a momentthen, sighiing, turned away and shoved her hands inthe fold of her cloak. Great, the slightest chance I migt have to ,if not make a freind, then to make an ally, and I screw it up by letting myself be buried by some freak sandstorm! The tears slid down her fce, but no one was around to notice them. Guess Tala will always be my only friend. I better find the church so that I don't get lost trying to find it tomorrow. aNd with that, she began to wander the city. |

Tasni got up and quickly doubled over in pain. He clenched at his side, and the wool bandages. It must have been one of the priests that had healed him, he thought to himself.
Slowly he stumbled out of the church half-expecting someone to stop him, but no one was around. Lumbering outside he saw piles of sand covering everything. His mouth gaped open, and he let out a large sigh.
"What happened here?" He said aloud.
"How long have I been out?
He then stumbled off into the pits of sand. |

Character Creation:
Name:
Katrina Burman
Age:
22
Appearance:
Personality:
Intelligent, slightly haughty, quick thinking, kinda bossy and obsessed with keeping germs away from herself. Rather quirky when not in doctor mode and a complete klutz when she's not in a medical building. Quote: (In honor of the person who gave me her name) "Comes in like a hurricane."
History:
Her family's pride and joy, Katrina left home to become a doctor and better herself for more than some middle class lifestyle. She focused everything on her studies and becoming the best in her class, and then in her field. She's still an intern and is being shipped to the hospital in the city because this could be her lucky break where she finally gets the doc job with that shiny new medical title she has.
Status: Upper
Career: Doctor, but she's still an intern right now.

Tek wanders in the back alleys for a time, looking for gossip on the latest doings in the City. Finding a distince lack of information, she heads back into the centre of town, approaching the Hospital with a dim sense of unease. Perhaps someone in there can shed a little light on the weird goings on.
"Hello?" sticking a head in the door, Tek looks around the dim entry way, then ventures further in. |

Mariana changed behind a tree, pulling her uniform on over her underwear (thank Zead no-one had taken those!) but the man and the girl had gone when she went to thank them. It seemed no-one wanted to come near the wall of the palace, or the wide open Servant's entrance. Speaking of which, there seemed to be very few people around inside either. She hurried to the kitchen, suddenly afraid of what she might find, and was almost relieved when she saw the preparations for a feast carrying on, though the head cook didn't seem busy enough to let a new arrival go un-noticed.
Mariana hung her head, sure she would recieve a chiding for disappearing before an important ceremony. Instead, to her surprise, the cook merely pushed her towards the dining room, babbling something about sandy uniforms, and left her with a servant only marginally higher than Mariana herself. As far as she could gather, over the general hubbub, many of the servers had dirty uniforms from the storm, and all with clean uniforms were taking their place.
Mariana picked up the first dish, the hand-washing bowls already gone through, and hurried to the line to get out. She would be serving at a low table, as beffited her position, and found herself holding out the fish plate for a few seated young doctors, part of the caravan which the ceremony was in honour of.
Lil, you take it from here. |

Zeta made her way out of the doors, the seething mass of townspeople lead by the Merchants Guild let out a roar as they saw her.
Zeta raised both hands in the air and slowly they grew silent.
'Good Townspeople, something monumental has happened! We the Developers have discovered a way to turn the desert green...'
A murmur of surprise echoed through the crowd until suddenly a Merchants Voice rang out...
'What nonsense! You can't make the Desert Green! Shes lying...'
Zeta shouted back at him, hands on her hips.
'Ho ho then Merchant, follow me and you shall see then.'
Zeta lead the crowds through the city to the Developers quarters - here she entered the Dunes to the place of her greatest discovery.
The crowds gasped at the sight of the verdant patch of rainforest before them, birds had already settled there and the place rang with their songs. Never before had the likes of such been seen.
'Why didn't you tell us this earlier?' A young woman asked from the crowd, 'you let us stay so mad at you, Zeta...'
Zeta blushed happily and smiled to her friend.
'Well Kalkora, the Royals forbade us from telling of our discovery...' |

Tek finds the hospital suspiciously empty. Fearing that her Merchant friends may have tried to do something stupid.. not entirely unusual in the retail world... she quickly runs back outside, only to hear the distant sounds of commotion and.. cheering?
Running out the gates and quickly rounding the sand dunes, Tek almost drops to her knees from shock. Ahead of her seethes a mass of Merchants, headed by someone dressed as a Doctor, and standing in ... grass...?
"Wha???"
Gingerly poking a few blades with her fingers, and sneakily removing a few minor root systems to tuck in one of her many pouches, Tekeuro eyes the mood of the crowd with a practiced eye.
Apon the announcement that the Royals were keeping the grassy news to herself, Tek feels her brow furrow deeply.
"Hm. That's interesting. I'd hate to be a Royal by the time this Mob gets to the palace."
She begins to back silently from the area. |

Lokking down at the slip of paper i her hand, and rememberingg the rushed page, she turned to Tala, and said, grinning, "Can you believe are luck girl? People are so shaken we're the only one the royals could find to entertain those caravan comers. Come- merely white wont do much for royalty." And with that, she rushed off. As she searched for better cloths, she thought back to the sermon she had managed to see. Zead, a god, a diety, someone in which to have faith. He exsisted, and any wrongs done were to achieve a greater good. The instant she saw theodurous, she'd give him a great big hug, even if he smacked her for it. Again, she rushed off. An hour or so later, she showed the slip of paper to a guard, as admitted, and shown through th elelgantly furnished palace to the a stage nar the dining room. SHe stood back stage, watching the group. Glancing down at the dress, with was a bright peacock green, shhe smiled lightly. Peacock green with midnight blue picutres of all that one would see in a forest was on her dresss. THe dress clinched tightlly to her small waist, flared out in a full skirt, had a very tight bdodcice so as to show off her breasts, while the high neckline, just below her color bone, remaine modest. THe sleeves were on top the green, and one bottom the blue, long a flowing, the kind of sleaves that went pst fingertips on purpose. She was dressed finely. Her little slippers, the white ones, had been exchanged for some dark green ones, a shade or so darker then her dress. Her blonde hair was sweap back from her face with a few combs, but they would likely fall down during her dance.
(sorry it's so long, trying to bring a little life to Tava's rp *is dressed like a docoter, warming up theose shocker things they use to try and get ppeople back alive from the dead*)) |

Tasni stood atop one of the rooftops with his hands crossed in front of his chest. He watched as a large angry mob that had only minutes before been sieging the hospital get closer and closer to the palace.
He did not like such events stirring up the tranquility of this city however much it covered up assassinations. Unfortunatly he did not have much information, and needed a.......closer look.
Jumping from building top the lights of torchs grew larger and burned in his eyes, and incessant shouting crowded his hearing. Soon he was right above the mob, and he made a quick jump into the front of the lines.
Leading this distasteful group was a young women with green eyes, and long black hair who seemed determined, or in other words stubborn.
"Who are you, and what is the purpose of this?" |

Kitiara slipped out of the banquet hall to get a breath of air. She had little interest in dancing girls or whatever kind of "entertainment" the men of the palace had arranged for the caravan. Going up to the battlements, Kit contemplated her situation. Her pay from guarding the caravan, heavy in her purse, would buy her food and shelter for a few days, maybe a week if she wasn't picky about her accomodations. What then? It seemed unlikely that she could earn a commision in the royal household. Perhaps she could find work as a bodyguard, or as a lowly member of the city guard. It wouldn't be much, but it could be a start...
From the battlements Kit could hear an unfamiliar sound, like voices in the distance. It was not the chattering noises of the marketplace, but a low ominous rumbling like thunder. Like a battle without the screams. Whatever it was, it sounded threatening... and it was getting closer... |
