A New World

God was bored. He had been feeling like this for awhile now. Bored, and a little peeved at how the other Gods were treated in their universe. They were revered and in some cases feared, loved but never hated, idolized and never disputed or doubted. He on the other hand, was never treated like this. Half of the creatures he had created weren’t bright enough to know what God was, and the other half had became too “intelligent” to believe in him. Coming up with all these theories of how they evolved from monkeys. He wished he’d kept them as monkeys now.

What he needed was a fresh start. A new planet, or a new species. Maybe both! God for the first time in eons felt excitement course through his being. This would get him back on top of the Godly food chain! He began thinking of what planet to choose and what species from Earth he would base his favoured race on...




This is my idea :) completely random, where you choose the planet he will begin making liveable and what animal from Earth the new race should be based on. I might even have a few put in so we have clashes in the future. All up to you guys!

ooh interesting :) They could be humans mixed with some sort of pack animal - because of hierachy. Maybe lions or bees :s

And the world should be somewhere very unpredictable with lots of volcanoes, or with one half like that and one half perfect...

God is looking for a reliable source of worship, right? So I'd suggest a life form based off a pack mentality- literally, sheep or cattle. To juxtapose that, and make the worship worth having, how about a predator race based on wild cats and or predator birds? Wolves have been done. The whole "Wiley Coyote" thing of a wolf in an Acme brand sheep costume, while funny, is and old spin on the record.

In regards to the planet, in order to support that type of life, it would have to be mainly grasslands, perhaps some rockier terrian lending itself to more goat-based individuals, green fields for the cattle-type, and gorse fields for the sheep. Woods or wooded highlands for the predator cat people, and rocky aeries for the bird-folk.

He wants to be revered and worshipped... The only way I can see this happening is Him choosing to make his presence directly affect a World. Like creating Magic, for example. Or, he could create a race where all beings can sense him in their minds... The ideas are too many too be counted.

Well there is a big decision here that no one has thought about. Would you like your people to live in fear of your wrath or live in love of your majesty. This reminds me of a game I played, "Black and White." Anyway...

I f5 the sheep, hawk, cat races of people. Although you may need treat each race differently. What race will be dominant? (I think the cat people) and what race will sacrafice? (Sheep obviously, and I think the hawks should just be loners in the mountain.) The point is you'll need to display in future chapters if the god is good to some races and nasty to others.

Also, make the sky cloud covered at all times, so they can't see the stars and wonder about them.

Infact, make the planet pretty unremarkable and as Skitty said, the Smudroaches a pack mind.

Now, now, C-ren. Now is not the time to exercise or emphasize your powers of creation. Let poor Smudger cultivate some minions too. There's more than enough faulty religious systems out there for everyone to have a piece of the proverbial pie.

Pack mentality is a good idea.

But extending it one step further, coudn't that just cause a basically socialist society?

that wouldn't necessitate a monotheistic religion.

He either needs to have some place of direct contact or have some mystery that can't be solved through science.

He would need to talk to almost every society directly, making a Theocracy of some sort form.

DeadMan, that's a good point. Even a pack mentality is going to need some sort of system of miracles, intervention, or obvious signs from above to make them form the sort of religious system that God is looking for here.

My computer has been dead for the past few days :( due to my heating being broke and there being a gas leak in the house, as well as my dad being in China. Interesting week I must say. As well as having my Acting exam also.

Anyway, the suggestions are so far:

Pack mentality(sheep, cattle or wolves)
Dragons
Predator races(Birds or cats)
Insects
Human Hybrids
Mystical Creatures

Okay wow - this has the makings of a good SG idea - nice and original!

I hope you maintain the HEM aspects of this!

My suggestion is that as he wants a race of ppl to worship him he should have a choosen people to be his high priests, politicians etc (am thinking big cats ie leopards, lions etc and for politicians vultures, snakes etc) and subjugate ppls that worship him (maybe like dogs, cats, cows eetc)

then have nomadic tribes ( camels) and savages (bears?) and servant class animals (sheep mice etc)

All would be humanoid with some features of the animal they represent = as a socialist comment i wouldn't directly say cat ppl - i would say something like them having feline aspects or their skin is spattered wit leopard type spots? you dig?

I like Kittys idea of world too...


I want to see a polar bear shaman, and monkey ninja monks....

Good point DeadMan, but see the way I'm doing it is that several of the options will be chosen, so to separate them further I have split some of them. If that makes sense :?

This sounds like a pretty nifty concept. I like NeverNeverGirl's idea about the hierarchical animals, reminds me a bit of a Red Wall-type world.
