Hello All you fellow IFians, I have returned, finally, despite certain rumors I was never gonna return, my old idea was a bust, as I honestly plain and simple grew tired of it, but now here is this one, With a completed first chapter.

WARNING: This story has graphic violence and talk of nudity, Do not view this if you are not a mature adult.

CHAPTER ONE

The anthropomorphic wolf groaned and lifted his head up to look at his surroundings. It was a small place, the floor was a coarse dirt substance and the walls that surrounded him were an extremely thick pulsing combination of green vines and dark brown branches. He was bound to the “wall” by think veins wrapped tightly around both his wrist and ankles. There was very little light shining into the small enclosure, but it was enough to give the wolf an ability to view his surroundings. It didn’t help much in the end as he still felt enclosed in a tiny space but it allowed him to see what was going on.

He felt a cold chill blow into the small enclosed “room” and across his naked body, causing him to shiver a bit. How long had he been trapped here? He wasn’t really sure himself, but he guessed he had been trapped here for somewhere around ten years, perhaps more. It didn’t really matter because he had given up on hope of rescue or escape more than a few years ago. He was trapped here and everyday his tormenter, The Fey, would come here and use all sorts of terrible magic on his body. In fact his tormenter should be here at any moment, it felt like he was tortured every hour, but it was in fact a day for each session he was forced to live through, which was scary in it’s own way.

Being tortured was a strange process and he never managed to completely die in the end of the magical session. The Fey did many strange things to him, often repeating many sessions from the past, for obscure unknown reasons. He didn’t really know why The Fey did these things, but the wolf figured it was either doing it for fun or for experimentation. It never told him, but he really didn’t want to know. All he wanted was to do was either finally die or somehow be set free after all these sessions were finally done.

The wolf groaned and looked about the small area again. The Fey still hadn’t shown up, which was strange since he was sure it should’ve been here now. He hung his head back down and took a deep breath. He didn’t know anything about this place or how it worked but he still managed to understand that he needed to breath and sleep but he able to comprehend why he was never hungry or thirsty. Had The Fey done something to him when it had first captured him? He shook his head and shrugged. Did he honestly want to know? No, he didn’t want to know. He only wanted death or freedom, which he was almost positive he would never get either of. He signed and waited for The Fey to finally arrive.

He didn’t know how long he had waited. Without The Fey here to torture him magically the wolf had lost track of time. All he knew was that he was trapped here alone, by himself, Sleeping and breathing, but never needing to eat or drink. If this was some new kind of test, it had finally broken his spirit. He didn’t know what else to do, but just be there, stuck to the hedge wall of vines and branches. All he could do now was wait for his tormentor now, and then live whatever his life was left. So he waited…

He was asleep when suddenly he felt his chest on fire. He woke up and saw his chest literally ablaze, the fire searing his flesh and his grey brown fur burning away. He was in an intense amount of pain, but he managed to see past the flames as he burned and he saw his tormentor finally. He saw The Fey.

The Fey was a creature of unspeakable nightmares. It was an extremely skinny lithe green creature that had papery skin hanging from its bones. It almost resembled a human if it wasn’t for the fact that its face was radically different. It had two large eyes, that were sunken into its skull, but they were pupil less, and were a pale milky white. It had three horns protruding from its forehead, the middle one being the largest of the three.

The wolf could see that The Fey was the one controlling the flame, moving its clawed fingers in the air near the wolf’s body, “spreading” the flames further along, burning him more and more.

The wolf howled in pain and struggled against the vines and branches, to escape from the pain, but it was no use. This was just something he would have to endure until The Fey decided differently. The fire spread down and covered his entire body, eventually covering his face as well, making him literally covered in flame, the pain was simply unbearable but it would pass it always did, once the Fey either changed the torture to something else or left him finally.

Suddenly, just as the fire had begun, the fire ended. It had extinguished itself out and just as suddenly his body returned to normal with no sign of ever being enveloped completely in flames. This was usual and he expected something more from The Fey and surely it was coming.

Without a second of hesitation The Fey plunged one of its clawed hands into the wolf’s stomach and suddenly volts of electricity began to surge into his body, making him convulse, scream, and twitch violently as he was electrocuted. This torture lasted only for about a few minutes before The Fey suddenly withdrew its clawed hand from his guts and quickly waved the bloodied appendage over the gaping wound, and as quick as it had been created, it was now completed healed, back to normal.

The Fey moved it’s ugly sagging face as close as it could to the wolf’s and looked deeply into it’s eyes, as if it was peering into the darkest depth of his soul, searching for something, though he couldn’t possibly have any idea what that would be.

The wolf couldn’t stand to be forced into the pale white eyes. They were hideous and reminding him of something unnatural and horrible. He would’ve given anything to be able to look away but The Fey had a firm grip on his muzzle now and forced the wolf to look back into its eyes. This was certainly strange behavior for this creature as it would normally continue to mutilate his body for awhile with all sorts of magic and then quickly leave.

“Please…Kill me if your going to…or set me free please,” the wolf pleaded as The Fey continued to stare at him, unblinking even for a second, not even as much as having registered from hearing the wolf’s plea for a end to his torture. It just continued to look into his eyes. It was a horrible feeling to have this creature in your face and he didn’t know how much longer he could have this gaze go over him before he went mad, but just when he thought he was going to snap The Fey drew back and hissed at him. It began to mutter and spit in its strange and alien language, it was quick and guttural and almost sounded like a mixture of anger and frustration.

It took a few more steps back from its bound prisoner and the conjured some form of magical energy in its clawed hands that glowed with a sinister mixture of blood red and acid green. It point at the wolf chest and continued to spout out more angry words, though the wolf couldn’t understand any of his rambling. It shook its glowing clawed hand as more and more energy accumulated. The longer it shook and pointed its glowing clawed hand at the wolf the more energy built up.
It was obviously planning something and the wolf could almost piece it together. He was finally going to his wish of death. This torture was going to be over and he could rest in the afterlife after The Fey destroyed him with whatever death spell it was preparing. After a minute or so, The Fey stopped chanting and rambling and placed its ominous multicolored glowing hand on the wolf chest as he closed his eyes and awaited peace finally..

Nothing Happened. The energy quickly faded after a few seconds of having the clawed hand being pressed firmly against the wolf’s chest. It quickly drew its hand back as quick as it could and made a sound of surprise, almost as if a squeak of shock. The wolf opened his eyes and looked at the completely shocked Fey. He wasn’t dead? Honestly he was just as surprised as the horrible thing in front of him. He didn’t have much time to ponder over this cause in the next second the vines and branches holding him and keeping him in place slackened and let go and he immediately fell onto the ground.

The Fey jumped back in shock and took a few more steps away from the wolf as he was somehow freed from his bonds. Something horrible and unexpected had happened to its test subject. Its soul spell hadn’t killed the wolf, and before It hadn’t been able to find what It had been when it was looking in his soul. The wolf was still on the ground recovering from the shock at suddenly being free. The Fey had no idea what to do, this had gone all horrible from for it. It had to kill the wolf; there was no other answer now. It quickly summoned some lightning to its hand and threw a few bolts of electricity at him.

The bolts didn’t do anything to him. The moment they came in contact with the wolf they simply disappeared. The wolf looked up at The Fey with a mixture of Fear and confusion in his eyes, which is what exactly It was feeling as he got up off the ground. The Fey took a few further steps back and conjured a fireball into its clawed hand and threw it at the wolf. Same result as before, the moment it came in contact with the wolf, it simply vanished. Something had indeed gone horribly wrong for The Fey.

The wolf stood and looked at The Fey in shock just it looked back in horror. Its magic no longer worked on him, in fact with every attempt to kill him he felt stronger than before. It was strange, having the tables turned to quickly and unexpectedly. He didn’t know what to do. Revenge? He thought for a second before The Fey quickly turned around and dashed into the thick bushes, thus ending any thoughts of revenge that had begun to spring forth. Some how he knew that he would never see The Fey again. He couldn’t explain it, but something deep down inside him told him so and it told him he was no longer normal anymore. He was different. He had been changed... He wasn’t sure of what he was going to do now that he was free…

The wolf shivered and looked around his surroundings and sighed. He had no idea how to get home or even where he had been for such a long time. He sat on the ground and pondered his situation. Time passed as he thought. He decided to do the only he knew he could do. It was time to move on. The Wolf got up from the ground and walked into the world he was now forced to call his own.

Mmm. I rather like this concept Solf. However, I think this is a bit rushed, it would be better if there was a little more story to it.

The wolf, despite some description, rather unknown to us. Is it a normal wolf or werewolf of some kind? Does it have a name? It's all a bit vague.

The fact he was begging for death is a little unrealistic here too. Not that he wouldn't beg for death, but if he'd been through this a thousand times before, it's unlikely he would bother anymore.

I think the release could have been a little more dramatic too. Make more of it, but that's possibly a symptom of such a fast introduction.

It may be worth not having this prologue at all, but start the story with him being different* somehow, and then coming back to this in flashbacks as the tale progresses.

Also, personally, I'd rather he was a human or something.

Anyway, keep going! :D

*I suspect he's become immune to their magic after such a long time.

Hmm. Since I am not a mature adult, I'm not allowed to read this story, but I can say that your avatar rocks.

I did 'accidentally' read your opener, however, where you start off with an 'anthropomorphic wolf'. Show, don't tell. How is this wolf anthropomorphic? Use your powers of description.

*smiles* An... intriguing scene to say the least Serge. A strange and twisted prologue set a rather dark environment ... you captured NWoD well here

Let's see something to get us into his head a little more? Memories of his past before he was captured? Some kind of a taste of his personality would be nice.

The other option is the opposite of Lil's suggestion. He's been imprisoned so long he no longer has any comprehension of of who he is, or was, before his imprisonment. It's a little cliche, but he's free in a world that he no longer remembers or understands. Who are his friends, who are his enemies, and who can he really trust? What has he done in the past? Is he the hero, or the villian? It could be a story about discovering his identity. the Bourne Identity and Momento are two really good movies that play with this theme if you need some inspiration.
