I apologize for having to share this with you all. For the past couple of weeks, there has been speculation in the City Council about IP addresses being shared by Harley/Riza/Ducky. This past Monday evening, I got the full truth from her myself.

I had no knowledge of this prior to her leaving, and I am very disappointed and disheartened that someone I call friend did this.

The Riza_Hawkeye and her best friend Ducky accounts were matched to Harley's IPs and she admitted to me that she did create them. She did not intend to hurt anyone here, I can assure you of that. Originally, it was intended to merely be a cover-name she could post tales with, without them being traced to her. And then things began to get out of hand. She tried to stop them with the car accident but as you can all tell and more than likely feel, that was the wrong way to go about it. And she tried to soften the blow for IFians by creating the Ducky account.

Please understand this was never done with malicious intent to harm anyone here... Harley has just had somethings going on that aren't exactly helpful. And IF was her escape for awhile. I know that she loved all of you dearly and would give anything to make things right, but she can't do that right now.

Please direct any questions or comments to me and I will pass them along, no matter in what spirit they be.

Please note that this is not the City Council's offical stance and if you want to hear what they have to say, talk to Key or Wax. This is just from me and me alone.

My official stance is this:

All role-playing aside right now; I am not speaking to you as the Mayor of a fictitious City. I am writing this as person, an Admin of a website to its members.

We were shocked by this information and went to great lengths to be sure before notifying you, the members of this site. This came to us as both good news and bad news; the bad news being that someone would do such an act, the good news being that no member of the City of If actually died in a car accident.

Now, a lot of you may be upset by this news and we are here to help you through this and are here to understand the emotions that you may be feeling now from this news. I felt it would be best to notify you all by post and use this thread as a forum to deal with the confusion, vulnerability and aversion from this news and talk about it to eventually move on.

It is important for me to note, that this is not your fault. Being tricked into believing something as seemingly real as a member dying, is something not usually falsified and as such this is not something that you should take out on yourself as being 'gullible'. In my life personally, this is the first time in 23 years of living that I have been taken advantage of on such a large scale, and I thank the Universe for that.

At any rate, I ask we all stay positive and harbor no ill-will towards our former member, and as I said before we are here for you and we are all here for each other. Thank you.

I know this is a big shock to everyone. I just want to say how sorry I am that this happened. Any community is built on trust, and we've never had our community trust broken like this before. So that is a sad thing for all of us.

It's a little hard to beleive this can happen.

I didn't know about the entire "Riza" car-crash thing until I read about it in the Open Forum a week ago. I didn't even know Harley, except by second hand.

That being said, it is still a small shock to find that someone we called our own could be this untrustworthy and put our friends under such emotional stress. There's nothing as horrible as having friends or family die, and, in a way, IF is a family.

Like a family we will always be there for each other. Like a family we care for each other. Like a family we love each other genuinely. We may not always agree, but we are united. We celebrate for our own in the good and mourn for our own in the bad. This may be a bad time, but together, as a family, we will be able to sort it out.

We're strong like that. ;)

When I first heard about this, I was shocked, hurt horrified, whatever. Can't think of the exact word i want right now.

But I really just have to agree with the people who've posted before me.

There's not much else to say, and if there was, I'm not sure I'm the best person to say it.

Finding out that someone you know and trusted has deceived you is really hard to believe, shocking, and hurtful.
But I would have to F5 Alegria- We ARE a family, and that has been proven many times over. We have always been there for one another, to encourage, help, or do whatever is needed. We always will.

And no matter how hard things get, we'll be alright.

F5 everyone. I can understand completely why she might want to write stories under a different name, and no-one can be blamed for acting irrationally when things get out of hand. Truth be told, it is a bit of a shock that someone would go that far, but I understand that she's been really stressed recently, and please tell her that we're all here for her.

I won't say I'm not hurt. I won't say I'm not surprised. I will say this, I know deep inside she didn't do this to hurt any of us. I know that. I'm saddened that she left though, and I will miss Harly every second she's gone. If you read this Harls, I wait with a heart filled with hope that you will one day return to again be a member of the ifain family. Until then, we all miss you.

Harley was wrong yes but does that mean we shouldn't forgive her? NO! family forgives and once a part of a family you are always a part of that family so Harley I hope we can all forget this when you return to IF

Well, that's kind of a shocker. I'm curious as to why she did it, though. Obviously, some of it can be attributed to immaturity, but I'd like to know why she had to kill off this pseudonym instead of just letting it die off by inactivity. I have to say, though, that piece of writing from the 'husband's' perspective was pretty convincing. All in all, probably her best piece of writing.

Or, it could simply be that she got in over her head and panicked. When one has accidentally made a mess that he/she doesn't know how to clean up, no matter how mature or immature you are, reason tends to fly out the window. Now is not the time to be dissecting motives and reasons. Now is the time to make sure all wounds heal.

This news has been hard for all of us to hear and I do not believe that this 'deception' was entered into maliciously.

I hope that Harls sorts out everything she has been going through (I do not pretend to know what it is at all) and in time finds herself able to return to IF.

There are so many things we could think. I think I know ducky, isn't it the four year old yellow duck? I send my warmest hugs. I once made another account just to start new with the name ladybaneheart, but I was caught by CF and well at first she understood why I did that and then eventaully I was told to keep the account I currently have. I couldn't believe that they actaully thought I was BadGirl, that was my friend lending my computer. ah... But I'm glad you were strict toward me CF, it thought me not to run away... :D
