Once there was a dragon. It had long purple hair. Red and blue chain mail scales. Azure blue on the arms. From the face down to the stomach was the blood red scales, but only four fingers on each hand. It always wore a khaki pants with a brown belt, as much as it tried being human. Everyone could tell it was a dragon.
Immortal, wise and those shocking green eyes... had something in them, potential. This dragon tried every job it could find. Help paint objects also work for 14 hours a day. It found out that its friend was a liar. Even tough the dragon walked out on the job, knowing one day it will return.
It learned that people would take advantage. If your not so serious, humans wouldn't take you seriously. It went to schools just like all the other humans. Still it felt it was different from the rest. It imagined that it could change these humans into what it wanted them to be.
So it set out on its journey, because it left school early this dragon didn't know what to pack when on a journey, nor did it know the maps of this world. So, why not become a traveler and scribe down the latest findings.
It walked through the woods, finding each new leaf was different from the rest. If only I could be the tree. All it had to do was suck up light, water and bad air, and bring something beautiful into the world. Good breathable air. If only I had something to bring my world. It drew the tree, with a huff of sighing.
The dragon blew a puff of smoke, turning the leaf it drew into ash.

Welcome back BBS!
Not sure what to think of the story and the direction it may be heading but I think I might've guessed at some of its literary meaning. I've felt like that Dragon at times, and I think we all have. |

Thanks, Thunder! :)
It's a grown up's children's book... more like a bit of Philosophy in about finding yourself. It's my own way of finding things.
______
So the dragon found it couldn't draw when being sad. or condemn its work into ash. It wondered why would something become so ridget and flimsy burn so fast or wrinkle. If only the dragon knew what it wanted. It knew it wanted to bring something into the world. Not evil, but good.
So it set out once again, and took 'n path, least tred.
It came upon a town, not knowing if to frown. It walked into the bar, finding people having a drink all alone. The dragon wondered why they were alone. These poor souls. It could see that the people didn't want something new in their life, maybe it could bring something to life aswell.
In a far by corner, in the darkness. Sat a bard with green, ivory crests on the lonely lute, he had. The dragon walked up to the bard and explained, dear sir, wouldn't you play a song, for them to hear?
So the bard tipped off his hat and revealed an oval face and sheer kindess in the eyes. It was a woman with long flowing hair. The dragon looked at the lights on the roof and thought to itself, that lights are a source of power for dance. If only it had more than one talent. The bard looked like a free soul who'd spend days wasting away time on different songs, it sounded fun, yet did this bard get any fame.
The dragon asked two questions just to clear the thought, "is there another talent like yours, or is this lute a show on the road?"
The bard shoook her head first and then nodded at the second.
(What to do is the dragon asking?) |

| Take the bard with him on his journey! But they should probably play a song together before they leave, to make the people in the bar happy again. :D |

| Welcome back, and good to see you've come back with a story. For an alternative suggestion - ask the bard about the people in the bar. |

The dragon stood and watched the bard play the lute. From out the lute came a voice not much, but with joys. So the bard played the song, until she told the dragon to sing along.
The dragon opened its maw, and said with a yawn, "tell us about a story of proud valor." The bard shook her head, remember what you first said. So the dragon opened its heart and voice, before it could sing the dragon's voice was in the lute.
Sounded melodius and sad. The story went along and sang about the dragons history.
There was once, great fang, with bold and fearless he had. He struck the moor with prowess and bore. And scared everyone, to death the saint say. Because of the rudeness it shown through the day. So it left with a spear in its chest, and walked a mile in those suffering shoes, feeling everyones pain. Knowing it would see the day it would bring something to this world, a plague of sons. cast the least of his tears and drowned with the last of his peers.
The people in the bar started to stirr. what did they hear? As the dragon treid speaking, it blew a puff of smoke and headed out the door. Calling the bard to come with. It knew with anger it couldn't sing, so what could have brought this upon its ear, a song of the history of his peer. The dragon had to find its peer or the town it once had been born.
The lady of the lute walked up to the dragon, bent half down putting back on her hat. And said lets get going. There is something wrong with this world.
The plague asked the dragon with curt....
the dragon tred upon a road, and found its anger rose. So it spun around and said, tell me about this earth and I'll give you something in return. It looked at its chest and back at the bard, and hoped the bard would understand.
The bard shook her head, and followed in his stead. She told the dragon to relax, but still it had a fierce nature, even when it wanted peace within its hearts chambers.
The dragon wondered why this bard couldn't talk, did her voice dissapear?

Okay.
The obvious option would be to follow the bard. |

The dragon gave a piece of mind, the wisest of all is those who control their fear. The bard interrupted, stand proud and walk a mile in another person's shoes. It seemed the bard could help out with finding the dragon's self image. Following the bard, the dragon listened to it play. Was this the dragon's voice, or a reflection of what will be. Play a song for me to hear, one of yours, dear traveler.
So the dragon, listened to the song.
So I thought I might tell you a story,
So today I found someone saying love is an abyss.
Love is a free form of caring,
some misuse it... others misplace it
Sure your love is probably hidden under your sleeve,
or your love is hanging from a wishing tree,
Today is earth day, so hang your wish upon a tree...
And see when you start forgetting about that wish,
Hang your head high,
not low to the ground,
Take flight or even down the night in your site,
Take your right and wrongs scribble them down,
write down and sleep,
next day burn it and take a beating darkness within,
I also asked someone the meaning of love,
Is it really that tough to grasp,
to actually understand the line of truth and dare,
so make a bet to yourself not with the rest,
leave it for the forgotten days...
and understand why that thing just came to be...
Love can't be found easily,
You forget it,
eventually it'll be found,
or even when your heart desires it the most,
your probably just wishing upon a tree or even a star...
Love is like your best friend,
nothing wrong or right,
a natural or even imperfect person,
or even the most unknown person you haven't met.
So love is...impossible at times,
but if you let it grow, it might just let you grow with it...

After the song they reached a high mountain, which has risen after a climate impact. The dragon walked along and the bard stopped him. So the bard said with one word, “Step through the mountain and your finding your life even difficult. Instead take the long road, either way. Difficult is always a good thing, if you want to find something said the dragon to the bard.
The bard understood, but sat on the ground leaving the dragon to choose between the long road, bard or having faith in only himself, finding things difficult for him to choose. Pacing up and down, it walked and walked and walked back to the bard. Asking for advice, the bard sat in a crossed leg lazy way, and the kindness seemed to have gone away. Replaced with a serious look, the dragon tried thinking....

I would, um... walk through the mountain.
Particularly enjoyed this line,
Quote: or even the most unknown person you haven't met.
It took me a while to wrap my head around this one. |

The dragon then eventaully thought of devious plan. He walked up to the bard and picked her up under her arms, and dragged her with through the mountain. The dragon laughed and said, try try as you might, but this is way better than taking the road of daisies and fun.
The bard took her lute tossed it at the dragon, the dragon took the lute, and found out he was turning into what those feared. He left the bard and apologized. The bard picked up her lute, and started to play one last song.
The melodies seemed to have not gone away, the song was the same...
So the dragon asked, if I was to go away from you. would my voice be with you. Take the long road and meet me at the other side. I might just be full of pride, but just let thee know I am of good will and nature.
So walk with me, not against me. I'd walk through that canyon and see if I was to meet my doom, fate or everlasting great.
The bard took the long road and left the dragon to meet her again. As the dragon walked through the mountain. The dragon treid shouting one last goodbye, but his voice was stolen away.
(what to do? wait until his voice returned to him from the lute an walk through the mountain, or hurridly make his way toward the bard again. Kill the bard and take the lute? What else?) |

The dragon had missed the site of the bard in the distance. He carried on through the hard time of going through a dark canyon. If only he could have had the bard with this journey. It was his punishment for being nasty to the bard.
The dragon made sure to pluck up some courage from within his heart. In the mountain a well of stairs spiraled down into darkness. A lonesome stick sat at the start of the darkness.
An Idea! The dragon pulled a piece of cloth from his pants making his khaki pants uneven and messy. Wrapping cloth around the stick. Taking a deep breath he blew a stream of fire on the cloth. The fire only mildly lit the shadows. His shadow seemed to be showing the other way, making him want to go back. No! I'm not a coward!
He carried on. Taking in air as his breathing became more shallow. The assurance that he'll see the bard and that he was good. Made him hurry down the stairs before the fire dispersed in the oxygen deprived mountain.
Down the stairs he finally could see the end of the mountain. He dropped the torch, heart beating in his ears... The bard should be here in a few hours. He could rest, he could hunt.
One last step out of the mountain, the floor beneath him fell underneath him... darkness in his site.
a Dream of elder dragons curling and twisting, while their gruesome looks of war came to the unconcious dragon. He understood every word they threw at him. "Your a discrace, you disempower yourself, you run yourself down and take hard roads, heavens bid you know well enough... that bard is just a nuisance, why do you trust her? You are brought here for one reason! To avenge!"
"I'll be smarter if I take harder roads!"
an Elder dragon shouted, "You took the easy road. When you wake up your compassion will be gone!"
(Believe the Elder dragons? Don't believe them...?) |

Question them.
What am I to avenge? The Bard has not been cruel to me. Should I not simply leave the Bard behind then? For what reason should I suffer a loss of compassion? |

The dragon took in all the information, but didn't believe anything what the elder dragon said what would happen to him. The dragon's voice was here, but how did the bard steal it then? Was this a dream or a vision?
"For what reason should I lose the road of compassion and uttermost heart. If I was to proove I would be a better ruler, wouldn't the bard be my great and loyal friend, This bard did nothing to me, when we meet I will infact still have a dragon's heart."
"Exactly our heart, our heart would turn into rust and spoil."
"Don't you ever say that!"
"Oh, but I have, your spoiled and your heart is lead."
"Who do you think am I"
Two of the elder dragon's tellepathically said to each other, we have to crank this up a notch
" You are a weakling, get rid of her, that bard is nothing but trouble."
"What if I'm to get rid of her? What would happen to me."
"You'll be smarter, more intelligent, more loved, the bard was a lone flute player, don't let her get you to buy her tricks and fraud through her young years."
"What fraud? I will judge that for myself!"
"Don't trust her!"
"I will trust those I believe in."
"You believe in only yourself, so why believe her."
He turned away, the eyes of the first elder looking at him, he paused to reflect and made a deal....
***~***
a six headed dragon, with large maws, yellow eyes, very sharp jagged teeth and a long mane of thorns sticking out his back. It sat in the middle of the table in front of him, slamming down a quill in front.
“The deal is done.”
~~~*~~~
He woke with the bard dragging his body out the hole, with ropes tied to his pelvis to his shoulder. He opened his eyes after taking dust out...
"You know you aren't very good with ropes..."
"I forgot to ask you, what is your name?" asked the womanly bard
"Sola... Yours?"
"Myst. I can see why your called Sola, your eyes."
(The dragon's eye color changed! Scary.... So he have lost something, but what?) |
She's lost her freedom now and must serve the bard unquestioningly, even if the bard doesn't realize it.
I was wondering when I'd see another chapter, not realizing I'd missed it during the great Rennaissance week. Sorry 'bout that and thanks again for bumping the thread Pope. |
