Let me introduce my first Multiverse Story: "The Storyteller's Dilemma".

It's the story of a story that would determine the fate of a young woman being judged by a powerful king. Four different endings can result from the many different versions of the tale of "The Evil Dragon, the Beautiful Princess, and the Brave Knight". Never before has the young woman had so much at stake, so she will have to choose carefully how she answers the Storyteller's Dilemma.

Heh... I liked that. The first time through I gave all Very Interested answers and then went down the Bored route. Then glanced at the rest.

Clever stuff there Lebby!

It was amazing how much time it took to make! A single path is about 1500 words, about as large as a single chapter, but I made it a little harder to create because the prince's interest would vary according to what specific path you took through the story. For instance, did anyone try taking all "Bored" choices except the very last choice? The ending is not the same as if you take all "Amused" choices.

So Thunderbird, you managed to keep the Prince amused (congrats!). What was the conclusion you chose?

Got prince Harold overjoyed on my first try. I bored him with my first choice, and then kept amusing him. :D

Kinda cool, though!

Nice. I chose the "don't mess with the dragon" path.

I made the little bugger extatic from beginning to end, but then again, he's a little monster. :P Not TOO hard to please. Nice going! I hope my multi will get off the ground soon....I wanna at least get out "Day One" before the end of May......

Thanks Emporer! I love it when an old thread wakes up and reminds me there are stories being told here, especially coming back to a compliment. Fairly simple story, but I remember it took quite a while to craft it, so I'm glad I kept it simple. I love the idea of having a variable to remember how you did in previous chapters, but it's impractical to keep doing it the way this was done.

Make a reasonable guess for how long it should take then double it.

You were so right! It takes a significant amount of effort. I have a complete new appreciation for the ones that are here now.

Ugh... just gonna keep slogging away - one choice at a time.

This made me laugh so hard!!!!

Outed by my own snarky humor. I now feel obligated to make some sort of progress on or else be undone by my own lackadaisical hubris.

Very interesting story. It was short but I love it!

Also the concept of multiverse is interesting.

Thanks for the story :D
