Many authors find that when they set up a poll they have to go through the tedium of clicking 'View Results' to see how the poll is progressing as opposed to being able to see straight of how it is going. A number of suggestions have been made, the best of which are:
1) Add a neutral vote to the poll such as 'Author's choice - don't vote', then vote for this option so that it doesn't affect the direction of the poll and you see the results straight away.
2) The poll results can also apparently be viewed straight way if you are not logged into the site.
3) You could just vote for an option, it's best though to do this consistently on each poll and probably near the start to avoid swaying the poll near the end.
4) Finally you could of course just be content with clicking 'View Result' each time which doesn't take as much effort s it sounds .
