Go down to the Unknown seems the fairly clear choice. There is too much danger in going up with gaurds, let alone those who will be in the castle grounds.

I agree, go downward. Julius promised himself he wouldn't believe the vision he saw until he was free. Now that he is free, will he still doubt it?

This is not all that should push Julius downstairs hopefully into the unknown realms, there are other reasons. After all what lies up the stairs for Julius? Second Imprisionment, another cell?

Or perhaps a welcome embrace from a father who never truly loved him? Perahps an imprisionment much like Julius has experienced his life? If Julius goes upstairs, one of his two imprisonments will happen again. As long as his father lives, Julius knows that he can never truly be free. A separation might be just the thing to gain freedom, to hold the contest with your farther in a different way.

Fight by living independently, by thinking as a free man, by making your own choice. Julius faught for it, but only a little bit, now he has the oppurunity not only to truly fight for freedom but for freedom itself. It's right before you, take it!

As noble as freeing trapped elders seems, they haven't been very nice so far. Zuspater enslaved the world, Mars want's only war. Why should he trust any of the elders? It's time to find out what's really going on, not what everyone else tells you. Being a maker makes you important to the elders, but only in a way that makes them each want to use you for their own ends. I say go up, hopefully the confusion caused be the quake will alow you to escape the citadel entirely. Just get the heck out of there and explore the world, find out what it's really like first hand. Perhaps out there you can discover what makers can really do.

I agree with Argo. I don't really trust the Elders at all, and freeing a prisonfull of them doesn't seem very smart to me. Better take your chances with humans, upstairs (or at least only one Elder).

This is very similar to Greek mythology, although I am not yet sure where this goes. Seemingly, all the Olympians are trapped like the titans- and we know that the Olympians were never very fair to mortals, so releasing them is a no-no. It seems that the Prince is somewhat like Hercules, the Gods need his help to fight the titans, but in the end, it is Hera's doing that kills him. To play with the Gods is not good. Go upstairs.

F5 Lotus and Argo.
Go upstairs and try to escape and live like a normal person.
Even if he does encounter guards on the way - he has been training himself nearly non-stop for a long time in the prison and will probably be better than most of the guards - even without a weapon.

Solus.

After reading I was all about going down, but I've been persuaded by the 'up' crowd.

Up we should go.

I actually find this admirable. Most of us stubbornly continue to believe only in our own ideas. I think its cool that Smee and solus can be convinced in a disscussion.

Have you exercised your right to vote, key? If nobody votes, then you can break the tie.

I have broken ties before, but I don't want to vote on this one. It's the crucial vote of the story.

I'm for down too,

You must delve deep to first seek the truth before rising to conquer what is unknown above.

All you downers are just doubters. Afraid that Julius won't be able to survive on his own. "oh he'll just be re-imprisoned" you say? Haveing been imprisoned once already he'll be truely determined not to let it happen again. He needs to go out into the world and test his true powers. To find out what the world is really like. Not down into and even deeper imprisonment.

He is a Maker, he should be out in the world making things happen, not down in the depths becomeing a tool of the imprisoned elders.

Up is the path to true freedom. Thumbs Up

The delay in my vote was not entirely due to the trouble I've been having with my computer (finally switched from Netscape to Firefox, much better), but because I truly couldn't make up my mind.

Like Smee, I was swayed from my first choice by some of the up'ers, but now I'm swayed back again and voting down.

Better write it fast before somebody else comes along! Smile
