Greetings, my wonderful people of If!!
It's been FAR too long, but we're having a new Spotlight Competition!! For those of you newer citizens, the Spotlight is a contest we hold every so often where current, active SGs have a chance at getting a forum of their own and a place of honor being featured on the front page of If!
Here are the rules from the original posting.
Rules for Authors :
To be elligible for winning the Spotlight competition your Storygame, in one of the three main forums, must have earnt Sticky status! This means it must have :
Completed at least 2 chapters in the last 3 months,
Have run a successful poll, and demonstrated the poll result was incorporated in the next chapter,
Each chapter is at least 1000 words,
And has a decent grasp of basic formatting, spelling and grammar.
When each Spotlight competition is announced, every author with a qualifying storygame will have their story listed here in the Auditorium. You must then PM either Tika or myself, letting us know that you are happy to be included in the competition.
If you wish, you may also send us a short blurb and exerpt (about 250-400 words at most) from your Storygame to be included in the competiton announcement to help entice potential voters. We will not chase you for this, it is up to you to provide it.
I want to go ahead and add that only one story per author can be accepted. This does include Collaborations. One representation per author. (ex. Fading Immortality is a collaboration and Line of Kavanagh is a solo project. I cannot accept nominations for both).
One last thing before we get on to the fun stuff...once voting begins, no author is to vote for their own work. It should go without saying because that's just tacky, but just in case...there's the rule in writing.

EDIT - I also took it upon myself to mark the SGs that have been accepted/declined on the list in the first post.
ACCEPTED entries have been marked in bold and the colour BLUE.
DECLINED entries have been marked in the colour RED.

Wow, it's a good thing I read my emails! I'm actually away at a summer school for the last week and the next, not realising that they are militant about no laptop and smartphone usage!

Okay, for those of you who've not PMed the blurbs for the nominated SGs, now is your last chance to do so. The competition will be up and running by:
WEDNESDAY 28TH NOVEMBER
If you don't get those blurbs in, the voters aren't going to have anything to influence where they place their vote. Having a blurb will only enhance your chances of winning, and may gain you a few more readers in the process, should they be impressed by what they see. So try to pick a piece of your SG that you think will really show off your writing talent and gives a good impression of the storyline.
Please post your blurbs to either myself or Andi before the Wednesday deadline.

This contest ended a long time ago! Sagi won with their story The Hidden Crime! HOWEVER since it was so long ago, and the spotlight story was never switched, I'm just announcing it right here and sweeping the contest and stuff under the rug. We're moving on. Once we get activity back up, we'll go ahead to figure out what to do next as far as this goes.
