Welcome to Arena, the game of ever-changing strategy. This is a QuickGuide of the rules.


Sequence of Play

  • Terrain Change
    • Add up total hexes under your control
    • 4 hex cost to change your own hex one step, 6 to change uncontrolled, 8 to change opponents

  • Equip and Mount
    • Player's creatures may drop or equip any items, mount or dismount any creatures
  • Movement
    • All player's creatures may move their land speed in hexes through terrain they can enter
    • Flying creatures takeoff only at beginning of movement, land only at end
  • Combat
    • Compare total Power of attackers vs total Power of defenders
    • Lower Power total loses 1 creature randomly, others are forced to retreat
  • Retreat
    • Attackers retreat from where they came
    • Each defender retreats to a random hex controlled by player
    • No retreat to hex that is impassable or occupied by opponent
    • Creatures with no valid retreats die
  • Equip and Mount
    • Player's creatures may drop or equip any items, mount or dismount any creatures
  • Winning
