IDBF by Geek_girl72

I Don't Believe in Fate by Geek_girl72 is a compelling story of one man's decision to turn against the path he has been set upon for the sake of whats right.
The hero is an Ampera youth named Arron, who was never a child. Constantly questioning Fate, refusing to believe in destiny, he does as he chooses. His kind are Forbidden to marry any other like themselves - for fear of what the combined abililtes may produce, a problem which sets up Arron to face some very difficult moral choices.

For Arron is sent to kill a husband and wife and upon arriving he finds his job half done for him, making the work easier than he could have hoped for - yet the small bundle in the basket makes it more complicated also.

Within the chambers of the Queen that he was sent to assassinate, a child born out of such a union is discovered. Arron struggles within himself, facing a moral and ethical conflict of gargantun proportions, and finally resolves to protect the child, dangerously powerful though she may grow to be.

Struggle and betrayal ensue with Arronforced to flee his sanctuary, his teacher, and the life he has known to protect the infant child, the innocent, from her destruction. As Arron flees, those that seek him out so that they may destroy the newborn and bring Arron in to face his punishments for disobeying orders, quickly find that Arron is much more powerful than they ever bargained for.

Not only is Arron powerful, but he is also resourceful. He throws those that pursue him off his trail, faking his own death, and ends up rescuing a man that can help him find refuge and protection for the life that he has spared.

As we draw closer to the current point of the tale, the child, Jovie, has finally learned of the true nature of her parents, and she has unwittingly discovered that she possesses great power of her own. Arron agrees to train her, but there is petty resentment from another that would take that task upon herself. One wonders where her motives will lay after Arron forces his will upon her.
Where will this road end?

The tale itself flows very freely, moving from one dramatic point to another with a careful gait. It is very easy to read though by no means simplistic to the point of boring, it is rivoting, dynamic and very enjoyable . Geek_girl72 has done a wonderful job setting up an enchanting world of powerful beings that are feared and oppressed by those that lack comprehension.

Jump into this tale now, before you miss out on all the action that is sure to begin as Jovie learns to harness her power, and Arron battles with his concious of whether to reveal the girls true nature.

Superhuman by Zephyr

One can only call this tale by Zephyr to be an Epic in the making. Zeph illustrates masterful skill when it comes to manipulating multiple progressive and interactive storylines with perfect procision and very little confusion. Its not often that we see such a high calibre of writer as Zephyr, weaving an intimate tapestry of detailed storylines into one flawless whole. Yet this is the least of the attributes Superhuman has to offer.

Far surpassing any other SG in its interactive components, Superhuman allows the user to create their own character with its own complexities (seeming at times as though the more complex the better) and fully detailed backstories. You write them up to the present point and Zephyr takes it from there.

This little chickadee has personally jumped on the Superhuman bandwagon and after the chapter having reached a DP and the players voting, have found myself faced with choices as to what action my character takes next! What to do?!? My choices affect the path my character travels and thusly the whole story! This SG seems to be the embodiment of everything a SG should be - interactive, detailed, exciting, consuming and intricatly weaved web of interactive user decides storylines.

If you dont feel that you are up to the task of creating your own character (if you do need help PM Zephyr - the guy is a genius at untangling convululuted half formed ideas like my own - check out the powers directory for Dream something or other!) - then jump into the Public Character buildfing process. Contributing ideas about powers, attitudes, responses, looks - this is the place for players with an interest but not quite enough fables! Force your foot into the story by voting and giving DP choices on any character - in an SG the voters have the power!

Another great facet of Zephyrs work is the brilliant concept of the weekly characterisation question. A simple question like this weeks - prrivacy or fame? - can reveal a lot about the way the player is shaping their character and also provides a brilliant insight into their world. Zeph has found a exciting and detailed way to tap into the necessary opinions/ideas of the characters he is writing about without losing too much control.

Current episodes involve a plane hijacking, an erotic dream, plenty of action and revealing insights into our cast.

Jump onto the Superhuman train and get your character created ASAP! You will not regret it!

Round-up!

Last month’s SGotM was taken by Chinaren, and his skiffy tale: Rise of Shadows.

This month we have a two horse race, both with Dark in their titles!

First up is a newbie to IF, who hit the headlines recently with his outrageous chapter titling: The Dark by The Dark.

Against this newcomer is one of IFs' oldest citizens, our very own Smee with his new one: Beyond the Dark.

Both worthy tales, though be warned! The Dark features some seriously graphic content!

Chinaren’s Tired of Death remains at number one with 24 Faves, down one from last month. Staying in second place is our beloved Mayors’ Magician’s Touch also down one on 13 Faves.

The lower half of the charts have seen a lot of movement this month, but currently Wrath by Chinaren and Zephyr’s epic SuperHuman share the third place with 7 Faves. Superhuman fighting back after it dropped out last month.

Recovering a place in the charts is Rai’s top SGame of the moment: Galleons of the Stars back to 6 Faves, after a slight drop.
