Hello fellow IFians! It's time once again for the Spotlight Competition! A competition where storygame authors compete to get their storygame into it's own forum, and up on the front page!
You may have noticed a number of storygames have recently been recognized with Sticky status. This is because you have been selected for inclusion in our contest in recognition of your hard work and efforts (and skill and talent and so on.)
In fact, here are the actual guidelines for Sticky status establishment so those of you with other storygames on the site that would like to earn such a place in the forums may be aware of how you may achieve this for YOUR SG:
Any Storygame which has...
Chapters submitted on a regular basis (at least 2 chapters every 3 months)
Chapter length of approximately 1000 to 2000 words
High standard of spelling, grammar and punctuation
Spaces between paragraphs
A decision point at the end of the chapter
Subsequent chapters written based on the outcome of each poll
Its up to YOU the author to accept or decline your automatic nomination.
So for the next week or so, you may chime in with your acceptance or denial of the opportunity to capture YOUR OWN FORUM and a spot on the FRONT PAGE!

All IFians should be getting familiarized with these local favorites so they can become informed voters. We got some awesome stories here!

Just pointing out that The President's Family is by D-Lotus and not Lebrenth. Also, Do all stickied stories get into the spotlight, or is there a rule that the ones that were in contention last time can't compete in this Spotlight? I see a couple more stickied SG's (WoD's Soulbreakers for example).

WoD Soulbreakers misses the "At least 2 chapters ever 3 months" rule. I checked all stickied for each of the rules, and only put up the ones that followed all of them. I must appologize if I honetly missed one. I'm new to this, and will do my best to get it right!

That's right, DE-stickying is something mods should be doing around now as well - provided the story doesn't fully qualify.
However, that said, 2 chapters per 3 months is more about the LAST 3 months and not a full analysis of the full run. Thus, for example, another potential qualifier here would be Klafarius's BIV-wacked!
I also think that alternative sgs, such as was just introduced by Shille yesterday, could qualify despite 'word count requirements'. So long as they have dps, frequent enough chapters and so on.
Rebels seems to qualify to me - two chapters there so far...
Oh, and consider that the word count matter is very superflous. If shorter but the plot remains solid and the storytelling is strong, that can be overlooked, such as in Andolyn's romance tale, The Color of Sound.
Additionally, word count is MINIMUM and there is no maximum so I felt I should clarify the wording on that.
Another thing: though one author may have multiple qualifying tales, I would request that they let us know which of those that qualify that they would prefer to have representing them, limiting authors to one story up for Spotlight grabs in a given poll.
I think tha's all the footnotes. Mods please quickly look through your forums to help Pope out in making sure our list is fully audited here.

For now, I will decline. This is due to the fact that I will be travelling within the next few days and it might put a break on my continuing to write the story. As I am unsure how much time I'll be able to dedicate to The President's Family in the following days, weeks, or even months, I cannot accept the nomination. The spotlight is a big responsibility and it would be selfish of me to enter the contest without knowing if I can fully commit to it.
If my situation changes before the nomination phase is over, I will alert you so that you can include me in the competition. 
But presently, I must decline.

Is there a specific reason why I wasn't given the opportunity to decline for Murder in the Intergalactic Garden? I don't want to run in this one, but I do like the extra advertising.

I'd wondered about your story too Lebby... I thought it may have been the chapter frequency but since I hadn't been doing the audit myself I wasn't sure. I figured you'd been away a bit so if you came back to it again during this process I'd bring it up if you didn't. But then, having declined last time I wasn't sure it would be necessary, expecting a second decline. (Though I must say, yours would benefit from the format of having its own forum more than most sgs would...)
And D... tsk tsk... now I'll have to rethink my vote and I'm terribly tied for those close on your heels second place contestants... This will be really stretching me to make a decision now... grrr...
