Beautiful ending. Very elegant! :clap:

Sorry to see this one finish, but I'm sure the next Wheel story will be just as involving, and just as tricky to navigate.

Now all we have to do is wait for it... :cool:

Loved the whole story. This one feels more like an ending than any of the others - very satisfying.

Not to be too demanding - when's the next one??? :-)

Fantastic Chapter, and story :P

Yep, I definately agree with the consensus - this really seemed to conclude elegantly. :D

Congratulations to Director Key and Writer Katie :clap: - the completion of the City's first storygame of it's type - a Featured storygame with regular weekly installments and a split team producing it.

And that's not even mentioning it's impressive graphic enhancements.

Can't wait for the next

Happy Writing :)

Congrats Katie! Her first City story finished, and may it not be her last.

I liked the way that although it could be seen as a cliffhanger, it was very definitely the end of the story. Lovely work.

Thanks everybody. :D

I just want to say how grateful I am for the interest and great suggestions and debate that you all put into this story. For me, this storygame has reinforced what's uniquely great about storygaming: that together we created something that I had no idea of when we started, and could never have created by myself. Seeing your decisions take the story in unexpected directions, and even early decisions like Pilla's choice to study philosophy forming the basis of her character and the eventual story resolution, has been really wonderful.

I also want to give a special thanks to Katie, whose prose beautifully captured the voice of Pilla and the land of the Wheel, and who was a joy to work with throughout.

Finally, thanks also to Leigh Dragoon and Gordon Sutton, who created the striking graphics, font, and animation of the story frame, as well as the changing graphics on the left side (all of them except the map).

:-)

Yes, congradulations Key and Co. I definately prefered this ending to the Archers Flight, which I though left too much still to happen.

Very nicely written and I loved how the ending wrapped things up a lot more this time. Archer's Flight was pretty dissapointing in that regard too me but this one is a lot better.

Well done Key and Katie!

Very good story.

I KNEW that it was going to end soon, but I didn't think THIS soon.

Ooh, Raven... maybe we're not! :shock: All the storygames from the wheel end with them having started somthing new and maybe this is the last one before we see their fates combining. I do think the one we start with should be Pilla though- Her story was best written and graphiced.

I do seem to recall seeing this sentiment expessed in a previous disscussion. :confused: . oh well!

Wonderful end...a gripping read all the way through. That said...

People this series is call 'The Wheel' for a very good reason. As with Lodevar and the Ram series Pilla will return when the Wheel spins anew...

After all, all the heros are simply waiting for the final battle which may never come depending on what happens on the turns between them. Thus all is circular and all is confusion and I must remove myself to ponder this conclusion...

I will toss my approval in along with the rest. This story was the first I read on the site. Unfortunately, I came in a bit late and spent a few hours catching up, which was a negative which almost lost my attention. But I imagined being there all along and it kept me going to the next DP. I have been tickled to be involved in this story and further since here at IF. Thanks for the welcoming attitudes from everyone, and for the quality of the performance that was put into this piece. I longingly await the next Wheel installment! :rock:

I don't know. Like others have said. The Wheel is still spinning. And what it lands on could be a story about a Scarpi...who knows? :cool:

We've already had the Scarpi - that was Masakati. It could be a satyr, unicorn, twin or bullhead though. We haven't had them as main characters, though we've met a few.

I'd go with the unicorns...a baby growing up in a civilization where there's a definite lack of opposable thumbs seems worth writing to me...*wanders off to ponder an SG based about that concept*

Yay! I loved the ending, and I liked the story as a whole, but I can't figure out one thing:

What happened to Prometheus? Isn't he a little too noticeable to hide...? What's he doing?

Anyway, great ending! ;)

Going through my childhood mnemonic for the signs of the zodiak:

The Ram, the Bull, the heavenly Twins;
Next the Crab the Lion shines;
The Virgin and the Scales.
The Scorpion, Archer, and the Goat;
The man who pours the water out;
And Fishes with glittering tails.

The unicorn in "The Archer" was referred to as a Virgin. The zigots, I'm taking as the Scales (measuring creatures, not flesh and blood, etc.). What we haven't had in a story, by my count, are Makers born to Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Virgo, Capricorn and Aquarius.

Sounds like a poem, Goosey. :D I don't know the zodiac at all, so I am glad I can recite something to remember them. I think we should do Taurus, since we're already in that month of time.

That's very sweet and chivalrous, Muaddib, but if I were going to be upset at something like that, I wouldn't have chosen "Mother Goose" as a name! I may be old, but I'm not very dignified, unlike my son the chamberpot. :)

I actually thought it was sort of friendly.

Ahem...you must mean, "...unlike my son the magical and dignified chamberpot."

:-)

Thanks for your interest in future Wheel stories, everybody. The next one will be titled "The Twin Prince." I hope to get it started in the next month or two, but I can't make any promises.

LOVIN the new av key. You could post a whole range in the gallery for new avs and then people could thake their picks of light, dark, pawn, bishop, knight...
