Page 2: Oh Rats!
Ok, I know my fuzzy animals aren't so good, need more practice, gotta go draw at the zoo. Maybe I got a little lazy with those rats but at least it's done.
Now how is Marty gonna deal with this? Preferably without upsetting Mel too much :) |

Excellent! :D
I say he reverses the polarity of the device, hence driving away all the animals.
Of course, something will go wrong somehow. Mmm, can't think of what just now, but I will chew it over and come back... |

Well, lets think about this: Hordes of rats advancing fast, no weapons, hmm. I'd say RUN FOR IT! |

Yes, I say he should try to get Mel to move away from the device very quickly without looking behind her.

I like the polarity reversing idea.... But perhaps we should try a little hair of the dog, so to speak, and turn the volume up in hopes of attracting something larger to scare the rats away. Of course, I had a dog in mind. There couldn't be anything larger than a dog nearby, right?
By the way, your rats are awesome, if they're a little indistinct, it works to give the impression of enormous numbers swarming towards us. And your cute animal looks good too. I like the way the girl sitting by the rabbit turned out. |

You draw so good!
I think you did the rabbit and the rats fine, I like the scetchy feel to the story. Its a junkyard right, so anything can be used as a weapon, as long as he's near a heap, but there are a lot of rats, so, if he can't reverse the polarity of the device...
Have him grab a broken but sharp shovel or something, grab Mil, toss the bunny to the rats*, stalling the horde for a few precious seconds as they chow down, then make a run for it.
If they ae still in grave peril, toss Mil to the rats, and let the main character live on*!!!!
*its eat or be eaten, bud. And quite frankly, the rabbits gonna get eaten. I mean look at the meat on that thing!
**I don't like Mil that much, have no idea why. She just oozes that snotty I'm-smarter-then-you feeling.
Maybe someone way cute/hotter/sexier would be a better companion?

Awesome - love the look of the machine. :D
Some good ideas, although I don't think we have time to reverse polarity with the sheer quantity of rats.
I think you need to set the machine on to auto - and then tie it to something on wheels, give it a shove and send it the other way - sort of automated pied piper - they can follow it, and we can go the opposite direction.
Loving the story Argo
Happy Drawing. :D |

Nice chapter Argo. Love the cute fuzzy rats ;)
Okay, something very quick to solve the problem. The device is attracting the rats, right? But if we turn the device off, we still have a scrapyard full of rats.
I think a makeshift catapult would be easy enough to make. Stick the device in it and let it fly somewhere else. Of course, there are problems. Bunny will follow it as well, upsetting Mel (but you can always tell her to hold tight onto her new friend). And it stands to reason that the rats will still be a plague to someone if not to our hero. He could have angry mobs at the gates of the scrapyard if they trace it back to him.
Still, it's quick and simple and it gets rid of the rats. For now :D |

Yey another Chapter :D . One thing I'd have to add is that they probably wouldn't have time to build catapults, rocket launchers etc given how close the rats are.
I'd F5 Geek Girl, they should run for it - get away from the machine, but do it in a way that Mel won't become suspicious. Perhaps say that he has another great idea and whisk her away to another part of the heap. Or suggest going for a flight (although I have a feeling Mel will be ever so slightly terrified of flying in a hand built plane) then build a flying machine.
Alternatively they could retreat and build a gaurdian robot - who could then wander in and turn off the device and retrieve it. (They can't turn it off as the rats would lose interest in it and may well attack them. The rats are not going to get very far with attacking a gaurd robot, and even if they do it's no real loss. |

Brilliant Argo! I F5 Lebby, get something bigger to come by and scare the rats away.
Of couse, there always is the "Marty's homemade giant robot emerging from a junkheap" idea. |

What about the grenades?!?!?!?! Rocket Launchers!!?!?!? The items, the various, the booming! It would look so cool to see explosions in this style-of course it might be quite difficult but... If it turned out really well, I think it would be worth it, right?
You could combine Fennys and my ideas.
Strap the cute little bunny to a grenade and throw it at the little freaks [im not a fan of rats. Mice i like, but rats? no.] and they alll run at it and go BOOM!
Dont toss mil to the rats [wait fenny dont abandon my comment yet!] have her finally give him a date and have him find out that he doesnt like her that way after al, then fenrir can get what he wants and have someone prettier and less condescending come in. |

How about turn the machine up, and hope it attracts lots of cats? Who then will eat rats that were attracted to the machine that Mel built. :D |

In classic comic fashion, I suggest he grab the machine and run like hell. The rats will follow him, and so, shortly, will the rabbit, at which point Mel (impressed and maybe even a bit weak in the knees) will turn around to find her suitor ... er, vanished! What do you think Argo? Poor guy impresses the girl, and then, in order to save her from a horde of rats, he has to run and hide. Me like.
That landscape you drew looked pretty hilly. Many crappiles to escape over and around. |

Thanks Solus!
You know, the more I think about it, I'm liking that 'turn it up' idea more and more. But if Marty turns it up, he must turn it waaay up. So much, in fact, that rather than attracting something useful like a cat, it should attract, say ... an elephant. The elephant, being of course terrified of mice, (rats, close enough), immediately panics on arrival and all chaos ensues. That would be pretty fun, lots of comic avenues for Argo to pursue. What do you guys think? |

Haha. An excellent idea, Bless. Welcome to the city.
Good stuff so far, Argo. I like. Right now, I'm personally in favor of the Pied Piper style thingy or the draw something bigger. |

*In my terms, cute rats means vicsious, deadly, flesh-eating, Mel killing, Sadistic Rabbit hating furry little monsters!!!!!!!!
*out of breath*

Oh, that sounds great.
I also am all for killing the bunny.
It is far too sickeningly cute to remain alive for much longer.
It should die... horribly. |

I saw the trailers too, and I think those are perfect examples. I haven't really read any Steampunk, but Gibson's and Bruce Sterling's The Difference Engine is maybe the best-known example (if we don't count Jules Verne).
hahahahhaha bruce sterling difference engine and the sterling engine, the most efficient heat engine possibble to construct
theoredically anywhow
damn that reminds me of a shitload of research i'm doing for engineering
allright will its much too late for my suggestion but for the first issue
show that by making her a steam powered heart
you know a couple of steam powered valves that go up and down when you heat the heart
hell you could spin out the sterling engine theory and have it as when you hold the heart that causes a temprature rise and thus an epansion of the gases inside the heart and when the gasses reach the top of the cell they cool and shrink creating a beta design of the sterling engine
bassically for those who couldnt follow when mell hold the heart it starts to pump
by the way great story love the comic already i think the art is great and they tie in awsomely with the storyline, keep up the good work
but yeah, dunno bout this chapter |

Well it was meant to be winner as in a winning option and also a pune (or play on words) where i called you a weiner, though i was tired and had had a few drinks when i wrote it so it didnt make as much sense as it should have. |
