Welcome to the Fabled Island's first auction:

The Carlisle Sword

It's already worth 220 Fables so we'll start there and go in increments of 10 Fables. It's already pretty steep for a sword, but don't forget that you can still sell it to FITH later.

Found in the ruins of Connelly Fortress, the sword shows absolutely no signs of rusting or other corrosive effects. The sharpness is unmatchable and it can easily penetrate an inch and a half of heavy wood with a mere thrust. Its other qualities, if any, are unknown, but a man forfeited his life rather than surrender it.

Who has the first bid?

Jim takes a look at the sword and feels the flat side of the blade with his index finger. It is smooth, light and sharp, a worthy blade. Perhaps the old man was not so crazy. He lays the sword down and looks around at the other treasure hunters.

"It looks like a good sword. I'll offer 250 Fables."

*By the way, good gimmick, Leb.* ;)

Thank you D!

250 Fables! Do I hear 260?

By the way, I've been asked how long the auction will run. I'm planning on it being two weeks, since that is when the next chapter is planned for.

Jim looks at the sword again, this time more skeptically. Somehow, he gets an image in his mind of an orange creature with bags brimming with Fables, who Jim will never be able to win against, but he makes one last wager for the sword anyway.

"270, and that's my last offer."

Jim grumbles, having hoped nobody would surpass his offer. Parting with the sword...well, it seems a pity. Maybe just one last shot for it...

"Let's round it off to 300."
