The first of our Sponsored awards is for Best Character. Best Character is sponsored by a multi-faceted highly interactive storygame that not only invites players to vote in Decision Points, but also to create and develop significant characters, and even play a part in the dialogue for future chapters.

No Storygame is better suited to sponsor the best character created in IF, than SUPERHUMAN!

Two contenders were nominated for Best Character this year. Smur from Avarice, an apathetic, cheating, disgusting, smelling, ugly and miserable individual, yet with a soft heart, and Father Devine from Confession Box, a a benevolent but fallible priest who tries to help the townsfolk of his town to the best of his ability.

The votes have been counted, and it gives me great pleasure to present the Superhuman Award for Best Character to...

Smur from Avarice!

Now we come to the award for those characters who may not be the hero, but have a strong and important role in their story. The nominees for Best Supporting Character were...

The nominees for Best Supporting Character were...
Cuthbert from Tired of Death. A not-so-bright zombie, Cuthbert likes the occasional meal of fresh body parts, and stays loyally by the side of main character Dreth, as they attempt to escape the dungeons that have been their home longer than anyone would care to remember.

Kagemusho from A Fronte Praecipitium a Tergo Lupi, an apparently benevolant, powerful, and mysterious character who acts as Ulliana's guardian as her quest progresses. Kagemusho is not infalable, however...

The voting was close on this one, but we have a winner.

The Award for Best Supporting Character goes to...

Kagamusho from A Fronte!

Finally in this section we come to best Antagonist. True to form, our evil do-ers battled it out to the death. Our dastardly nominees this year were,

Veronica the Violator, an Anti-Paladin recruited to go after Dreth.
Desdemona Doomini from Barry the Normal, an evil woman with a score to settle, bearing all the hallmarks of the typical Antagonist.
Lordy from Wrath, a suave, smooth talking, dark suited demonic man, very much at home in the predominantly evil Big city.
Lordy from Hangover, a demon with world domination on mind, who accidentally saves the very city he was trying to destroy.

The first round of voting ended in a tie between Desdemona and Lordy from Wrath. The tiebreaker looked very close but eventually Lordy from Wrath triumphed as the most evil character!

I hereby give you the Best Antagonist of 2007 - Lordy from Wrath!
