The Orc and The Not So Fat Fat Fairy

It was a bright sunny day, a good day in my little world. I’m a high level hunter that was well on my way to High Warlord. I’m strong, cunning, and quite an effective killer of the enemies of the Horde. Then it all changed that day, the day I found the flowery field.

The Battlegrounds were slow then, and I was tired of the questing and babysitting the younger, lower level Guildmates. After I put the last few stacks of leather on the Auction House I decided to head up to Moonglade for some relaxing fishing. I grabbed my hat and rod from my bank slot and with a whistle and a puff my wolf mount Monty appeared. At a tap of my Mithril Spurs off we rode. Of course the Flight Path would have been quicker but the ride was much more enjoyable, to see the country sides and the beasts of the land are quite soothing.

Raw Mithril Head Trout was going to be the catch of the day for me, and as I was rounding the south bend of Lake Elune’ARA, something caught my attention, movement in a field of flowers. Bright reds, purples, and the softest whites I’d ever seen before. I suppose I had just never noticed the field of colors, or was it something else, something more? Could it be the sole fluttering movements of the creature that made the hues more vibrant?

I dismounted and began to channel Eagle Eye for a better look at what I was dealing with. The creature was hovering around above the ground like a Hive'Zora Wasp, and without warning it sputtered and drop out of the air. My Worg Pup tore off to the field growling and barking, and not knowing what was about to happen I readied my [Gryphonwing Long Bow]. Before I could take the first shot the creature began to strip off what little clothes it was wearing and began to dance; it was a lady. A woman of the likes, which I had never seen or even dreamed of before. The Worg Pup jumped and barked as this femme danced around the flowers, and I slowly walked toward the display. She must have seen me by now. I was standing close enough I could reach out and touch her.

She stopped, turned and asked, “What are you waiting on, Get Naked!”

I laughed, and without a second thought I removed my armor and began to dance and talk. I was in love from that moment on.

For hours we danced and frolicked in the field. She stopped and said, “Look at the time, I must be off.”

“Where are you going? Will I ever see you again?”

“No, the flowery fields in the City of IF are much better,” she answered.

“Where is this city? I will go and see for myself. I love you, and will not leave your side.”

“Oh, well then off we go,” she responded with a flutter of her wings and a poof.

So here I am.

The Orc and The Not So Fat Fat Fairy: Into the Streets

I had wandered off again. I was supposed to be on safari to the Bananalands, but somewhere between the AHA Confederation and the City of IS I’d taken a wrong left turn. The lands surrounding me were strange and exotic, and appeared as a completely different type of rpg-realm than what I had ever strolled through before.

This world was not without perks however, and with joy I encountered a flowery field. Whilst engaging in activities that fat fairies are prone to do in flowery fields, I met the most charming orc. Abandoning my futile search for the Bananalands, I decided to return to IF, and my newfound friend followed me home. I think he was rather enamored with thoughts of dancing naked in the lovely flowery fields of IF.

He didn’t understand common human languages, but we understood each other purely through the power of love. The streets were quiet when we arrived, so I thought I might show my new friend around a bit. We decided to check out a few of the main page storygames first.

We found the most pristine picnic area. A lovely open field of soft grasses, a softly babbling stream, a nearby green tree line and scenic vista inspired me to whip out my ever-ready and convenient picnic basket. The orc and I were enjoying our intimate moment, when a large caravan interrupted us.

Soldiers milled about, trashing the solitude of our quiet respite. From out of the blue, a huge fireball erupted from the tree line. Chaos ensued, and however interesting this storygame might be, we decided it might be best to relocate for the time being. Reluctantly we packed up our blanket and set off for a quieter location.

Various battles played out in differing storygames, but on occasion we found a peaceful chapter. We even took in a concert, although the band wasn’t that great. All the screeching girlies seemed to adore Dwayne McKismo, but I think the orc was about to pull out some flaming axes if we didn’t leave soon. In the interests of public safety we moved on.

A few citizens milled about the streets by this time, and posted enthusiastically. Of course this brought Bob out, and I couldn’t resist introducing the orc to the joys of apedog thwacking. One quick stop and we’d be ready to hunt. I grabbed my green companion by one meaty hand and dragged him into The Greatest Fantasy Story Ever, to the base of the Poot Root Tree. Plump globes loaded with banana-kibble hung from the branches.

Seems orcs with their sensitive noses, and poot roots with their flatulent emissions, don’t necessarily get along well. After much grumbling, a few orcish phrases that I’m certain I should be thankful that I don’t know the meaning of, and an embarrassing incident involving an arrow, we were ready to soothe my Thwackabobitus.

We chased the hapless apedog through several forums before he managed to hide in one of the guilds, passing by the locals. The orc seemed non-plussed by some of our more unique citizens. Chinaren with his furry orange self bustled by on his way to the marketplace, an armload of fables threatening to spill out into the streets. Two huge dragons lounged on the corner, one writing furiously to keep up with her load of storygames, and the other scratching her head nonchalantly waiting for team Yahoo to make comments on the latest chapter. The orc did jump a little when a pile of soil moved, but after I reassured him everything was okay we carried on.

I then remembered a few moderator duties that needed tending in the IFTI. I doubted if the orc would be interested in going there just yet. Seemed like one of those places in the city that new members avoided like the plague. Must be some sort of hidden warning in the FAQs that I’d missed.

I directed him to the calm courtyard in front of the City Auditorium. He sat on the flat stones in front of the fountain, where an impressive statue of King Key holding a large leaf stood, water spraying from behind the upheld foliage in a curious manner.

“Wait here for just a moment,” I instructed, pulling out my pruning shears and heading towards the Technical Institute. “I won’t be long.”

You're lucky you didn't run into the J'naeric elves while you were there, Fauna; OT might have turned his flaming axes on them. ;) So I should probably rephrase that: The J'naeric elves are lucky you didn't run into them.

Entertaining chapter, but the sound effects wouldn't load at home and I can't have sound at work :( I'll try them again later, hopefully they'll work. :D
