Welcome to the new Spotlight Competition!

Step right up Ladies and Gentlefolk, (no need to push!) and be the first to learn about the upcoming competition coming to the City of If!

Beginning on the 1st November, the City will be host to this shiny new event, designed to offer even more than the old SGotM ever did!

Once again the best talent from all across IF will be able to compete for votes and win their very own forum to showcase their Storygame. It could be you!

Not only that, (courtesy of our new news editor, Kang) you would also enjoy a free Platinum standard advert in the next edition of the IFquirer!

And not only that, you would also get to see your Storygame spotlighted on the front page of IF itself!

*crowd oooohs*

To top it all, you will continue to receive the 1000 fable reward when you finish your Storygame, but we are doing away with the forum taxes, allowing you to enjoy your own forum without the pesky collectors poking you every month!

*crowd erupts with cheers*

Now more than ever is the incentive and motivation to write your very best, and keep it going to the end your Players so desperately want to see.

Rules for Authors :
  • To be elligible for winning the Spotlight competition your Storygame, in one of the three main forums, must have earnt Sticky status! This means it must have :
    • Completed at least 2 chapters in the last 3 months,
    • Have run a successful poll, and demonstrated the poll result was incorporated in the next chapter,
    • Each chapter is at least 1000 words,
    • And has a decent grasp of basic formatting, spelling and grammar.

  • When each Spotlight competition is announced, every author with a qualifying storygame will have their story listed here in the Auditorium. You must then PM either Crunchy or myself, letting us know that you are happy to be included in the competition.

  • If you wish, you may also send us a short blurb and exerpt (about 250-400 words at most) from your Storygame to be included in the competiton announcement to help entice potential voters. We will not chase you for this, it is up to you to provide it.


As it stands the current list of qualifying storygames are :


There are several other Storygames that just need another chapter to qualify for Sticky status and still have time before the competition starts on 1st November.

Voters! If you haven't read these storygames yet, now is the time. All of them are fairly new and only have a few chapters to catch up.
