OK, we're ready to get started. Here are the official rules for Arena Tourney 2:
There are four players: D-Lotus, lordofthenight, Crossfire, and me.
D-Lotus, lordofthenight, and Crossfire have all created one new card, which has now been added to the "official" list. The cards are Su Shuang, Fleshreap, and Jets.
Anyone can use any official card, including the ones created by your opponents.
Each army will be 50 points or less. We'll play with the current Advanced Rules as defined in the wiki, except that we won't be using Magic Spells.
Everyone will play a match against everyone else. Each match is best two out of three games. On the first game, we'll roll for who chooses which player goes first, then we alternate who gets to choose.
For a given match, each player chooses their army before seeing their opponent's army. Players may not change their army between games within a given match.
From one match to another, players may change their army however they wish.
Unfortunately, I am not able to automatically record the games, so I would suggest that you do your best to take notes and keep track in case of any rules dispute. You must at least keep track of what your armies were, so that you can post them (see below).
I will be the final judge for any rules dispute.
Please post the results of your matches in this thread (i.e. who won in how many games, and what were the armies). This becomes public knowledge, although keep in mind that you are free to change your army from match to match.
Once we have all played a match against all the other players, there will be a final match between the top two players.
Top players will be defined by (in the following order):
Overall match record against all three opponents
Head-to-head record against each other (in case of tie in overall record)
Overall game record (in case of a tie in overall record and head-to-head record)
Coin flip (in case of tie in all three categories above)

A few notes about rules changes recently made:
Make sure you understand the poison rules. After our last tourney, I made a change that made poison less powerful (it only takes effect if the poison bonus is greater than the margin of victory, instead of greater than or equal to).
We are not playing with the "extra mana" rules, so please ignore that part of the army addition and board interface.
We are playing with the newer, larger board. Keep in mind that with this board, each player's king hex is actually a part of the board and can be occupied by that player's creatures (and is subject to terrain change). Also keep in mind that all creatures start on that hex and that in order to win, you must occupy that hex (not the airspace above it) at the end of the turn.
I took a few items off the official list, since they seemed potentially unbalancing.
I removed old rule that said you could only have a max of 7 vehicles/items and 7 non-vehicle creatures, in an army. With 50 points it doesn't make much difference anyway.

You guys are free to play with each other whenever you want. For me, it's generally best to set a time ahead of time, so PM me let me know when you're free...

Any questions?

Update: The tourney is now complete, and I am the Arena Champion II.

Just one question Key, that came up in a game between D and me. If you have a Poisoned Spear (or similar item) the Poison bonus is only in combat (and not ranged) unless specified right?

IE - an Orc Archer with Poisoned Spear is Power 0+2 Poison, Ranged 1+1 Poison.

Yes, that's correct. No poison bonus or addition to Power from an item or special ability affects a ranged attack unless otherwise noted.

Crossfire and I just completed the first game of our match (next game of games still to play). I was victorious with my Big Fast Hero army:

Horse of Diomedes
Berserker
Grenade
Horseshoes of Speed
Potion of Speed
Surestep Ashes (x2)

against Crossfire's Evil Undead:

Fleshreap (x2)
Evil Mound
Grenade

I was victorious in my second game with Crossfire, winning the match 2-0.

Crossfire has requested to change the size of his card, Fleshreap, from 1 to 2. Since this is a minor change that does not affect the card cost, and since when he created Fleshreap Crossfire had planned to use another card in his army that I later ruled unofficial, I'm inclined to grant this request. However, Lordy and D, since it could affect your matches, I wanted to give you a chance to veto this change if you don't want to allow it. Please post here if you have objection.

I've got no problem with that. What was the other card that was ruled unoffical?

I also have no problem with the change. As for when I will be available for the matches: 4-6 o clock Spain time, almost any day.

It was Dark Aura. Much too powerful for the cost.

Ah, that one. I was planning on taking it myself, and simply dropping the item on the tenth turn.

That's a good one. :) But it hardly matters. Games are almost always done by that time anyway.

That was one of a bunch of items that were created at a time when any created item became official by default. I just never had a chance to go through them until just before the tourney.

D and I just played our match.

I used two Dwarven Skyfiers crewed with Robot Brains, and the mystical Su Shang bird.

He used A Dwarven Skyflier crewed by a Robot Brain, an Elven Lord, and an Evil Mound. He also had Jets attached to his Skyflier, and Surestep Ashes.

I won 2-0.

I just won my match with Lordy.

He used the same army as his match with D: 2 Dwarven Skyfliers, 2 Robot Brains, Su Shuang.

I used the "Merfolk's Revenge" army:

1 Gunship
2 Mermen
2 Riding Horses
1 Robot Brain
2 Grenades
2 Potions of Firebreathing
1 Surestep Ash

I won 2-0.

Wow! Key challenges Lordy's Arena title! It's all in my hands now... if I lose to Key it'll all be over.

Key... bribes will now be accepted. ;)

OK, three more games in the round robin:

D-Lotus - Crossfire
Lordy - Crossfire
Key - D-Lotus

Any progress on getting them scheduled?

When're you free for a game?

All right, I'm going to start declaring draws or forfeits if the final three games aren't played in the next week. Let me know if you have been trying to schedule a game with your opponent and he hasn't responded. If you make a good faith effort and your opponent doesn't respond, I'll award you the win. If I don't hear from either player in a match, I'll call it a draw.

And no, I can't be free at that time.

OK, I'm going to declare that D-Lotus has forfeited his game with me, since I've sent him two PMs with no response. And I will declare Crossfire and D's match a draw, since I see no indication that either are trying to play. I will give Lordy and Cross a little more time...let me know, either of you, if you are trying to find time with the other.

I'm really sorry I wasn't able to show up. Couldn't get a hold of a computer for a month. I was living in a secluded village. Anyway, I accept the forfeit.

I think we might have to accept a draw Key - Crossfire seems to be on holiday somwhere, and isn't coming online often enough to arrange a game.

What does that do to the ranking?

OK, let's call it a draw between Lordy and Cross. That appropriate since your first match really did end up in a draw anyway. So that leaves the stats as:

Key: 3-0
Lordy: 1.5-1.5
Crossfire: 1-2
D-Lotus: 0.5-2.5

That means that you and I, Lordy, are on for the final match. What times are good for you?

I'm at GMT+1 again, and evenings (including after midnight so early mornings) are the best time for me. So long as I know in advance I should be free (expect Sundays and Thursday, where I'm often out late).

I suppose that's sensible, although I don't adore it as an option.

Next time, let's set up some kind of definite schedule for this, so that I have a chance to show my true brilliance... *smiles*

OK, Lordy and I have played the final match and I emerged victorious as Arena Champion II. :D

My army was "Two Knights and a Dragon":

Horse of Diomedes
Robot Brain
Centaur
Swordmaster
Keen Blade
Sea Serpent
Potion of Firebreathing
Grenade

Lordy had:

Dwarven Skyflier
Robot Brain
Grenade
2 Sea Serpents
2 Potions of Firebreathing

It was an epic struggle, but in the end my speedy centaur won the day. I won 2-0.

Likewise. The tourney caught me at the worst time possible. Though I don't think I would have won anyway... Key's army was devastating.
