:) Saw this in NewScientist a week or two ago. Print media triumphs again! When I saw it, though, it was worth about $8 each.

Personal opinion? It's a bubble. I wouldn't invest because, as I understand it, there's no central guarantor. All it will take is one or two people who decide to go big into bitcoins, amass themselves a bit of a fortune and a thriving business, then go bust in the real world/don't fulfill any of their business obligations for it to crash.
