"what do you mean."I asked. She looked at me with her sad eyes, "You, seeing your mum and dad every weekend and us not having any time together." "Thats not true we do-" she put her hand up to silence me. "And when we do, you spend it down the pub with your mates and leave me to do all the work round the house!" She started to cry.I thought about saying something to try and get me off the hook but I thought it was a bad time to start up an arguement.I went over to her and tried to hug her but she moved away from me. "I can change!I can really!"I said,but I don't know who I was trying to kid more- her or me. "No, you can't.That is why I'm leaving...tonight." she went out the room leaving me on the sofa thinking about what I should do,but I didn't have a clue. About half an hour later she came in with several suit cases.Her cheeks were stained with tears.She walked over to me and kissed me on the cheek. "bye."she said "Can...um..Do you need a lift?" I asked "No,a taxi is here for me." She walked to the door,gave one last look at me and got into the taxi. I watched her leave.I knew she wouldn't come back but I had a feeling I would see her again(little did I know then,the next time I saw her it wouldn't be such a friendly reunion). I walked back into the house.I couldn't believe she had just dumped me.How could she?I could feel myself getting madder and madder.I ran to the kitchen and through everything onto the floor-plates,glasses,vase of flowers and an ashtray fell to the floor and smashed. I needed time to get my head straight so I grabbed my caot and headed for the pub.-why did I have to choose the pub,why didn't I go down to the park or somethig? A good start - better than I was expecting, and not boring - just a necessary introduction. An argument is a nice way to start, what's boring about it? I don't know if it's just the way you've been taught, or the word processor you're using but you seem to get confused with the end of sentences, particularly with dialogue involved. eg: Quote: "bye."she said Here, the B should be a capital - start of a new sentence. You also need the fullstop (period) after 'she said, and not after 'bye'; it would look something like this: "Bye" she said. It's by no means a solid rule, but it's considered good practice to put in a space after a period. It just breaks it up, shows the reader you meant to stop, and makes it a little easier to read as well. A good trick to try and get us inside your characters head a little more is to try and cover as many of the senses as you can. Don't just see things, but touch, hear, smell and taste. Obviously don't use them all at once, but rotate through them. As I said in the ideas thread, I'm looking forward to this one. Lets seem more. Don't forget some sort of decision point as well - we do like to get involved you know. Happy Writing. "Don't you think you've had enough mate?"asks the barman.He's new and he seems to be a bit uncomftable by my precence.But what do I care? "No."I said "Don't you think you should be getting to your misses?I bet she's worrying about you,"he said. "No,because I don't have a misses anymore."I said.I can feel the sadness welling up inside me again.Why can't he leave me alone? Man that hurt.That cut deep down inside me,but he was right.I had to see it from his point of view-he would lose his job if fights like that kept happening and I've got to get a grip of myself the world doesn't revolve around me,does it? I got up and staggered into an alley.Little did I know that someone was following me.I heard a crack from up above.I looked up and saw nothing.I carried on walking.There it was again-that cracking sound.I look up and see nothing again.I carry on walking a little scared now.Why would anyone be following me?And how do they do it by running through the trees above me? CRAAACK.That was a lot louder that time.I started to look up,and when I did I saw a person jumping out of the tree with some large metal looking thing.I had no time to react-move or be scared,because he was on me in a flash! There are two different ways to write dialogue. 1) The one with a verb after it, looks like: "This story sucks," he said cruelly and threw it into the nearby trash can. You would need a comma after between the quotation marks and the verb instead of a period. 2) If you don't want to add a verb after dialogue. You can use a period instead of a comma at the end of the dialogue. "This story sucks." But remember if you want to write dialogue this way, you have to describe the scene or background, so the reader understands which characters are talking and what they are talking about. As for style, I suggest putting spaces between dialogue, so it's easy on the eyes. If not, it makes it look like a giant paragraph. But other than that, I really liked your story so far. What's more, our computer's the one hooked up to the projector, so people were just looking at our answers, copying them, and watching everything we were doing! My head. All I could feel was the pain in my head. I don't know where I am because everything is white. I can't move. What happened. God I must have got relly drunk. I can't remember much. I went to the pub. Then what...I got kicked out. Then I went down an alley way...strange crack sounds....then what? hmm. I can't remember. Crap! Why can't I remember? The room--at least I think it is a room--that I was in I could now see a bit. I Most of my vision is still blurred and white.Somone or something just went past me. What was it? I wish I could see! " Hel-llo. Who-who are you?" I asked in a stuttering voice. Damn. I sound scared. That makes it worse. What if they can smell fear? All I heard in responce is laughter. I could see the room propally now. I looked around. It was dimly lit by candles. It looked like a haunted house at a fair. At the corner of the room there was a table with a man in black. Who-who are you?" I asked. He laughed again. " Answer me!" I shouted. What is it with people ignoring you? It really annoys me. I looked where he was sitting. Suddenly he was gone. " Don't raise your voice at me!" He wispered in my ear. He was on top of me. How did he do that? I couldn't speak. I was frozen with fear. I could hear my heart pumping. I was shaking. The next thing I knew this guy was on the floor unconcious. This other guy walked up to me. " Give me your hand." What have I got to lose? He helped me up. " He is a Vampaneeze" He said. He is nuts. " I am a Vampire. We are sworn enimies." " Ha. God you're mad! You need help!" I laughed. But I was unsure because he souned geuine. " It is true. I will prove nit." He walked up to the unconcious body and moved the black hood. I gasped. His face was purple! " Listen you have nothing to do with this but you have a choice. "What is it?" I asked. Starting to feel the sence of dredd crawl up my back. " You have 2 options. U can either come with me and become a vampire or go with your unconcious friend and become a Vampanese. Whats it to be?" HE asked. I didn't know what to do. Gowith the m,ad guy who belives he is a vampire.gh Or go with the phcopath who wants to kuill me. What should I do? I can't put in a pole so just say which one and i will tall it. I hoped I would but I did doupt it. What did this guy want with me? And more impotantly, what was he going to do to me once I had fufflied that purpose? As we walked I studied John and watched as he walked with long striding steps. I looked at his facial features and watched them change from expressionless to a delightfull deciving grin apper on his face as a young woman-- no older than 16--walked down an alley way staggering from drinking to much. He turned and looked at me with a glint in his eye, " Stay here while I, um...go point Percy at the porcerline." He said. " O.K." I said and slumped against the wall. I didn't beleive he was really going in for a pee. Why would he be going down an alley way where that young lady had gone? I watched him walk down the alleyway as his grin grow larger, he glanced at me to make sure I ws still there. When he had been in there 30 seconds I followed him in. I crept along the wall a quietly as I could. I could feel my heart thumping louder and louder as if it were going to jump out of my ears! As I crept along the edge of the wall I could here a quetion echoing inside my head : What will he do to you if he finds out you followed him? I didn't know the answer to and I would deal with that if it happened. I came to the edge of the wall and I could see my strange little friend crouched over something. I couldn't be to sure what it was. I stood there for a few seconds trying to figure out what to do. I did'nt no what would happen if this John guy found out what I was doing, but it couldn't be any worse than being killed by the purple loony I saw earlier. I krept as close as I could behind John without him noticing me. He was talking but I don't know whoto. I moved my head to see what he was doing at a better angle. Then I saw what he was doing. Not blinking. Woundering what to do. I had been going over the possibilitys in my mind. They weren't helping much. I had some crazy ideas ( bum rape) that i won't be doing cause that will get me in deep trouble and he would probably kill me and i would puke. I also had some quite good ideas to. I saw a broken botttle on the floor and thought about using that. I would kill the guty but it would be a murder seen with my finger prints all over the place. So i decided not to do that. I stood there watching as the vampire bared his fangs and put his hand on her neck. It was now or never. I ran screraming, " NOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!" And kicked the vampires arse. The vampire fell to the floor stunned. The women calapsed. I ran and caught her before she fell to the floor. Her eyes flicked open. " W..What happened?" She asked dazed. Crap! Whatr am i going to tell her? I stood there for a moment thinking. "um... You came out the pubwith me and colapsed." " Oh." She said. I could feel a stirring in my pants. " Nooo. not now!" I grumble. " But if you would rather stay human you can becuase that means you can use guns and mechanical things against the vampaneze as vampires cant becuase they think it is dishounerable." But how am i going to learn everything i need to know about being a vampire? "Don't worry. I will teach you all you need to know." He said smiling. how the hell did he know what i was thinking? " So?" he asked. i took a step forward, hesitated a moment then nodded. " what?" he asked. " Okay. Fine i'll become a vampire." " good good." He said. He walked over to me with a knife. I moved back. " this will only sting a little bit. Think of it as we are becoming blood brothers if that helps." He said keeping his face stern. He made a slash in the palm of my hand. I yelped in pain and moved away from him staring as the red water flooded out of my skin. He yanked me back over towards him. " Don't move!" he ordered as he sliced his hand open.He grabbed my hand and squeezed it onto his. So his and my cut were firmly together. I could feel his blood entering my hand and going through my blood stream. His blood felt cooler than mine. Strange. I could feel his blood rushing through my body getting faster and faster. I began to feel queezy. Suddenly he pushed me back. I wavered on my feet and fell into a stone chair. John spat on his hand. He grimiced as his cut healed. He ran over to me and spat onto my hand. I cried out in pain as the cut began to heal itself leaving a nice smooth scar. "You are now a vampire Daniel." " My names Dan." " I prefer Daniel." " Fine!" i muttered. " So now what?" i asked. " Well, you need to be taught a few basics. But there isn't much you need to know yet. I will teach you as we go." " Alright." I said. " tomaorrow i will teach you how to drink from a human." I gulped. "alright" i didnt want to but i suppose i had no choice. John walked off and went behind a large rock. that would be where he was sleeping. I went out next to the cave entrance. I saw some movement about a mile away. My eye sight had changed everything was so much clearer to see. I looked at where the movement had come from. I could just make out the utline of two people. I moved a little bit further out the cave so i caould get a better veiw. they were dressed in camoflage gear and......and oh god!!! they have purple skin!!!!!!! I havnt read that in any other vampire book i have read. Anyway, John did that because thats how vampires do it in my story (like some do it with both hands some do it my draining all the blood from da neck and then make the ppl drink threre blood). And, even though he is a full vampire. (i would say what chap it is but i cant remember lol) I Stood staring. I thought the mad john dude was joking! I didnt realise he was tellin the truth all along! Oh god! I really am i a vampire! Im nly thought this was a joke: i thought i was only his blood bro! On films you suck out of peoples necks and make them drink your blood in return! It was nothin like that! Just a stiking pain in my hand and then...... I came to my senses and ran into the cave. I ran up to John and shock him. He was asleep! Dead to the world! How on earth could he sleep at a time like this??? " JOHN!!!!!!" I screamed. It was no use! he wouldnt of woke up even if a heard of elepahnts came running in! I ran around the cave looking for somethings to defend myself from these THINGS! There was nothing here! ; just twigs, stones and Johns stinky shoes. Well, i suppose his shoes would knock them out for a bit! I would have laughed but i was too scared. Then i saw it! ; sticking out of Johns coat. It was long, hard and pointy! It could only be one thing!!! A gun!!! I ran over ang rummaged into his pocket. And sure in there was a gun. But he wasnt allowed to use a gun was he? Wasnt it disshonerable? Oh well, no time to think about that! If i don't act fast I'll be dead! Whats more important? checking to see if its okay to use the damn thing and die? Or live using something and being given dirty looks? Well duh! I checked to see if it was loaded (which it was) and ran outside. They were about a mile away. I could hear there footstaeps. I normal conditions i wouldn't of been able to hear them. but my vampire powers must have began to quick in. So cool!! I aimed and took a shot. To my astonishment they started running towards me with knives. The bullets had hit one of them and was bleeding but he still kept running! I got my pen knife out of my pocket and ran into the fight! I knew i would probable die but i didnt care! There was a loud sound like a powerfull winjd. I fell to the floor and saw balck everywhere. The Purple people stared and i thought, "Yes my lucks up!!!" I dived at one of them and stabbed him over and over. Black blood spurted everywhere. The other two were to busy running from the bllack sea to notice. He was fdead i got up and squinted at the black sea in the air. I laughed. It was loads of bats helping me! I was laughing too soon. Someone or something pushed me onto the floor. I felt along the floor for some kind of weapon. My hand grabbed something cold and slippery. It was an empty beer bottle. I smashed the end on the floor so it was sharp. It was pitch black I could barely see a thing. I could just see the outline of someone. He was standing just above me. I moved backwards slowly. He dived at me and hands grasped round my throat. I cried out and shoved the beer bottle into his neck. He grabed it from my hand and bent my wrist back. He moved his body onto top of mine. I could barely breathe, he was crushing me!!! He brought his head near me and then suddenly the room started to spin and everything went balck *** I awoke to a dripping noise acompained by loud snoring. It sounded formilliar. I was laying on a cold damp floor. My neck was stiff from laying there. I got up slowly and looked around. I was in the cave!!! That means- I ran to the other end of the cave where the snoring was comming from. There was John laying on the floor sleeping soundly. I looked for any sign of a wound. There was no sign of any mark. So if it wasn't him I stabbed it could only have been a vampaneeze. I looked down at John, I wonder if he slept through the whole thing. I laughed out loud. He proabably did. I walked back to the front of the cave where a fire had nealy burnt out. Juat a few flames. I sat next to it trying to warm up. Maybe I should make me and John some breakfast. No, maybe later. I got up and walked outside the cave going over everything which had happened so far as me being a vampire im my head. It was like one big massive adventure. Quiet scary but what else is there to do? something caught my eye. I turned round and on the floor was an envelope. I picked it up curiously. I stared at it asif trying to work out what was inside. I opened it very carefuly and pulled out a small letter from inside. I unfolded it and read it slowly: John, You must come up to the Black forest as I need to speak very urgently. The vampaneze have declaered war. There young king who has just wed for some rreason declares war. As soon as you get this letter plaese come up right away. I have not informed the rest of the clan. Only you and the 3 leaders know at the moment. your faithfully, David I heard John strring behind me so i stuffed the letter in my pocket. " Morning..." I heard John say grumpiley. What should I do? Currently John is the only one who can teach you that you know of. You have an army that would be more than happy to kill you coming to say hi sometime. With this in mind you find a letter that might be useful to John but doesn't help you out at all. It could also be a test from John to see if you are trustworthy. If John gets it he will probaly take you to meet the rest of the vampires which might not be the best thing in the world but I don't really see a downside. If the letter is a test John will probally kill you and leave. You have his gun and the letter and have allready gotten in his way before. I don't really see any reason for him to leave you allive if he doesn't trust you. I sat there watching him as I thought about the letter. Should I give it to him or not? And what about the gun? He probably doesn't even know it's gone yet. Will he be angry that I toke it and used it without his permission. Or will he be angry as it is supossed to be dishonorable to use a gun? A plate of baked beans and saussages was handed to me, I muttered thanks and ate slowly as i thought about what to do. When I finnished I looked up to see John starring at me with what looked like curriosity. I swallowed and said, " John, uh.... Vampaneze came and attacked the cave last night." I paused waiting for some kind of responce, there was none so I carried on. "I, uh, tried to wake you but you were dead to the world, I even yelled at you. Well, I saw your gun in your pocket," I got it from behind me and pushed it towards him, he didn't take it he just sat there listening to me. " and I went and shot one of the vampaneze. Then a big fight broke out and I don't really remember what happened after that." there was complete silnce for a moment. " I know." John said suddenly. " what? how do you kno-" " I came outside to see what all the noise was and there you were fighting with the vampaneze. I let you deal with it, to see how you would get on." " You what? I could have DIED!!!!!" I shouted angrilly. " Calm down Dan! I wasn't sure if you were a vampaneze so I came over to examin you when you stabbed me repeatedly, so I knocked you out." I sat there confused my anger sub-sideing. How could he possibly have knocked me out? He has no stab marks or anything! As if reading my mind he said, " Us vampires have healing spit. If we spit in our wounds they heal quite quickly. Plus I washed my clothes as I didn't want you to worry." " How come I don't have this `healing spit` then?" I asked. " You will in time. It just takes awhile to learn things and for your body to ajust to being a vampire, thats all." I sat there thinking about everything how it all made sense now when I sudenly remembered the letter. " John, this was found on the floor when I woke up. It's a letter." He took the letter thinking nothing of it. He just stuffed it in his pocket. " It's an urgent letter!" I said. " Yes I know,I've read it." said John packing all his stuff into a bag " We'll be leaving in ten minutes, to go up to Black forest. It will take it a couple of days to get there." I starting packing my bag with questions spinning in my mind- How did John know about the letter? How the hell did he knock me out without touching me? Why did he have a gun? And why didn't he bring up the subject of the vampaneze attacking our cave? When John had finnished packing we headed north to where the forests and mountains were. As I didn't have a dession point. I don't know how John can do it! I'm knackered and he's pratically sprinting up the hill! Ugh...I plonked myself down on a massive rock. " Look, were nearly there! Just another.....well, 50 miles to go" John said smiling asif 5o miles was nothing. I groaned and got to my feet. " Can't we just flit?" I grumbled " No. We need our energy for something useful! Like fighting off these darm Vampaneze! Anyway your can't flit properly yet! you haven't been a vampire long enough!" He tuted and jogged off. *** We've walked about twenty miles now and I'm pratically dead on my feet! Literaly, there bleeding and I've got cuts and bruises all overbecause i ran into some blasted tree. CRACK! I waltz round, nothing. " what are you looking at now? Come on we haven't got far!" I carried on walking but I kept my ears trained for any sound. I sniffed the air. It smelt odd. I sniffed again, harder. It smelt like burning, burning wood. " Can you smell that?" I asked. " What?" He took a deep breath in. " That smells like burning wood...strange, my clan wouldn't be doing this they protect the trees as they give them homes. Something wrong. we're gonna have to flit. You'll have to try and keep up." Before I could say anything he was off. I ran as fast as I could but I'm not as fast as him by a long shot. I carried on running, panting until I came to a clearing, it was someones camp or den...but now it was burnt and belongings were trashed. John was searching frantically around I just stood there. What I heard back there must have been the people running away after doing this. " If there was anyone here they're dead now. But i doubt it. I can't see any tracks apart from ones fleeing from here after the attack. Sebastion must have relised something was wrong and moved on." I stood there staring, What the hell is he on about? " Our leader, Sebastion, he senses things like no-other being apart from this twin," He shuddered. " He's proably moved somewhere else." He stood thinking for a moment. " Daniel, I need you to do me a favour, it's a few hours before night fall, as I'm more experianced than you at catching animals and what nots-" "Hey!" I protested. He waved it off " So, I'd like you to go in search of my Clans new base. They won't have gone far. We'll meet at nightfall!" The he was gone. I walked off in the opposite dirrection and heard footsteps behind me. I waltz round. There was no-one there but I had the distinct feeling someone was watching me there eyes in the back of my head. I came to a crossroads. Four seperate paths including the one I came up. They all looked exactly the same....I looked around and saw something in the bushes in the corner of my eye. I turned to the bush, whatever it was was gone. I looked suspiciously at it and walked over. There was a twig on the floor in the shape of a star. I picked it up and put it in my pocket. I made a mark on the floor to know which path I had come from. Now, the question is which way shoud I go, North into a forest, East, into a forest or west into yet another forest. Something struck the side of my head coming from the west. I turned round and stared down the winding path of the forest. I rubbed my head angrilly. Maybe I should go left and see who or what is doing that, but whoever/ whatever it is could be leading me asstray.... Nothing much : the star twig thing, scrap paper, chewing gum, couple of pennies, a pen and my mobile phone! I stared at my phone. Wow! Can I get signal out here. I checked, damn one dot…whoever I talk to will be fuzzy and hard to understand. I stood staring at it realising I can’t use it as everyone will think I’m dead or something bad has happened to me as its been months since I’ve been home. I shoved it back in my pocket and looked at the rest of the junk on the floor. I picked up one of the pennies and thought for a moment.. North is heads. East is tails. I flipped the coin, it landed on tails. I looked east. I didn’t look to bad, just yet another forest. I picked up all my bits and pieces and rammed them into my pocket and set off down the path. I would have to be quick to as night was coming. I laughed to myself as I though of John running around with loads of suntan lotion on in the day, even when it isn’t sunny. Thinking of that suddenly gave me some energy and I jogged down the un-even path into the forest . ~~~~~~~ In the forest I slowed to a walk, I needed to look for any clue of someone being in the forest. I strained my ears to try and catch a sound of anything, especially whatever it was that threw that rock at my head, I rubbed my head gingerly as I thought about it. As I walked I thought about what John has said about his clan. They must be quiet weird…hippy even, tree huggers. I sniggered immaturely, I still wonder why I laugh at stupid stuff like that when I’m 23. Do they dress in dark clothes like john, or is john just a Goth / grebb? I heard a snap that brought me back to my senses. It sounded like a twig. I stood there, heart pounding, moving my hand to my pocket where my knife was. I stood waiting for what seemed like hours but only about ten minutes. Guessing everything was okay I relaxed and carried on but on edge as I wasn’t sure where the sound had come from. I carried no walking and stumbled over a large log. I grumbled as I got up wiping ash and mud off my clothing. Why couldn’t they have done the fire at the side of the path?! Not in the middle! Wait a fire! I stood staring, it could have been the clan…but didn’t they look after the forest, not chop it down and burn it? I touched the fire and jumped back blowing my hand. It was still piping hot, whoever’s fire it was had only just left and there were footprints leading down the path so I had a great chance of catching up with them. I stamped on the fire to put it out right as it was still burning slightly. Then I flitted as fast as I could down the path deeper into the forest. I looked up, It was nearly pitch black. I would have to hurry or I will be unable to find my way back and I expect john would carry on without me anyway. I came to a clearing in the middle of the forest, it was unnervingly quiet. There was just a hoot from an howl in the distance, there wasn’t even any wind to blow the trees. I reached in my pocket and grabbed my knife as I’d left the gun with john. Holding the knife helped me to calm myself s I knew it would help protect me if anything tried to attack…well try, it probably wouldn’t save my life as I’m not very good with knives as I haven’t had much practice. My hands shook slightly as I thought of that, and I has loads of images of my body mangled bleeding with some monster tearing me to shreds eating me. Something in the corner of my eye flashed and I turned in that direction scared for my life. I raised my knife protectively warning off whatever it was, but I doubt if it would scare it as whatever it was would probably have really sharp teeth to rip me apart or a gun. I stood shaking unable to move fear knowing at me inside, knowing that I would die. I saw it again and I turned. It was running in the trees very fast. I gasped as it ran towards me at a frightening speed. It plunged on top of me as I was unable to move thoughts whizzing through my mind. It was a man, 30 or 40, but his eyes looked liked they had seen the world over and over, they looked tired of everything but determined. I stared open mouthed as he pinned me to the floor. He stared at me not doing anything, waiting. My head cleared and I stabbed him with my knife, I barely sliced his skin when he grabbed my knife and through it to the side. I strained under his weight as he sat on me wrestling me to the ground as I tried to get up and get my knife. He pushed his hand on my throat blocking my airways. He had a knife! Why didn’t he use it! I struggled for breath as he pushed harder and harder on my throat not understanding why he didn’t just kill me quickly, it’d be easier for him to do that, or maybe he just likes hurting people. He didn’t look like he wanted to. In his eyes was sadness. I didn’t understand why he was doing it but I didn’t care. I lifted my hand off the ground and punched him hard in the face. Taken by surprise he fell off me. I turned over gasping for breath. I staggered to my feet and grabbed my knife. Something hard hit me over the head and blood went into my eyes. I cried out as it burned and all I could see was red. I laid there moaning rubbing my head slightly when I heard music and laughter. Laughter? What the hells going on? I sat up slowly rubbing my head and opened my eyes slightly and looked over to where the sound was coming from. It was night, I stared shocked at the sight. There was a massive fire and a load of hippy’s dancing around the fire. What the? I scanned the crowd of dancers and to my astonishment John was there. He was laughing and smiling joining in the dance. I laughed at him as I’d never seen him like that. A girl, no older than 15, came over and handed me a drink. I muttered my thanks and she smiled and walked off to sit closer to the fire to watch the dance. I sat there amazed, when I thought hippy’s I didn’t think this. I thought flower power, save the animals and drugs. But no, this was odd, yes, they were wearing brightly coloured clothes but they seemed to enjoy killing animals as there was a massive pile of dead animals, some I didn’t even recognise. They seemed friendly and quiet normal by what I could tell. Every now and then someone would com over and see how I am and if I was going to join the dance. I said no, but was puzzled by the fact that no-one has mentioned the person who attacked me, or anything. After my drink I begin to get a sick feeling in my stomach, I’ve had it before. It’s not like your going to be sick or anything. It’s the feeling you get when something bad is going to happen, like when someone comes over to you with a grim expression, you get that sick feeling knowing something is going to happen. I looked around and saw nothing except happy faces and trees, nothing un-usual. I got up and began to walk over to sit near the girl as it had began to get chilly. As I walked I saw something move in the trees. I stopped and stared in the direction, there was nothing there now. The feeling in my stomach was getting worse. I must be getting more vampire powers, because john said as you begin to receive them you feel a bit of discomfort, but the stronger the power the more it hurt. I sat down but continued to look in that direction. As I starred things began to get hazy round the edges, as if this was a dream. I blinked a couple of times but nothing happened. I saw something in the trees again, but this time it stayed where it was. It was a figure dressed in black, and it was edging forward the pain in my stomach got worse, great I have to suddenly get a power or whatever it is when this clan is in danger. I clutched my stomach and leaned forward unable to warn anybody about the person in the trees. The girl beside me lent next to me, “ Are you okay?” She had a look of great concern in her voice. When I looked into her eyes I realised she was a lot older than what she looked. “ egh..In the trees!” I grunted and pointed my hand towards the forest. She looked at me oddly. “ I’m. fine! There…is some… one,…in the…trees!” I grunted. She looked up and gasped. I lifted my head slightly and saw the figure edging closer still…something glinted at his belt. I stared at, all the while things getting hazy. It was a sword. The girl screamed and as she did the figure grabbed his sword from his side and ran in heading straight for this elderly man, who must be the clan leader. I felt my head throbbing again and I held it as I staggered to my feet shouting a warning. The leader turned round to where I was pointing, but it looked as if he were to late. The whole camp erupted in shouts and screams as the figure crept back into the woods unseen as everyone was to busy fussing over the leader. Everything went fuzzy, I fell to the floor dizzy and went back into darkness. I woke with a star, sweat on my forehead, I rubbed my aching head and looked around. I was still in the centre on the forest all of that was a dream. Where was the man? How long have I been out for? I looked around, it was pitch black and the moon was out. It must be mid-night, john must be wondering where I am. The man was 8 inches away from me scraping his knife on the fire he had made. I could leave now, he probably wouldn’t here me because of the noise he is making with his knife…or maybe he knows where the clan has gone…maybe it was him who stared the fire at there camp in the first place… I laid there thinking over what to do, I would have to think fast though as he would soon notice that I’m awake. Why hadn’t he killed me? I’m no use to him, maybe he wants to torture me slowly…I shuddered slightly thinking of what he could do to me. Slowly and silently my ears tensed for any sound, as I knew if I made a noise I would surely be dead. I got to me feet and a few metres away from me were the items from my pocket. My phone, some lose coins and that star thingy. I crept over to them and as quiet as I could put them in my pocket. I edged over to the forest, my phone knocking my leg in my pocket. I bent my knee ready into a run when something fell from my pocket. I cursed loudly as some coins fell to the floor. The man looked up at me. He snarled as he jumped to his feet. I stood there froze to the stop wondering what to do, wondering what my odds were of escaping. The man was slightly chubby, so he’d have a bit more of a difficulty running. I’m quite fast too. That’s quite good odds to me. Making my mind up I sprinted out into the forest the man close behind me. I ran faster and kept going until my chest felt as if it were going to burst. I stood behind a bush straining my ears to here him. He was quite away off. Poor guy he’ll end up having a heart attack, he should have just killed me at the start. Well, I can’t keep running so I’m going to have to come up with a plan and fast, I heard a twig crack in the distance. I looked around, all there was were trees. I ran over to a big sturdy looking tree at the side. I put my right hand up and grabbed a branch, then put my left leg up and began to climb. I climbed quick and swiftly, slipping only a couple of times, well I’m not the best of climbers. I sat on a branch up high enough to be surrounded be trees, but if the man ( lets call him Bob for now) , Bob, came round and looked up all the trees he would most definitely spot me. As I sat panting I heard the man running quite close by. I put a hand over my mouth and breathed slowly so as bob wouldn’t hear me. Bob, stood in the centre looking all around. He had an odd expression on his face, one of concentration- he must be straining his ears to hear me, and one of a worried expression. He’s worried? Why? I sat staring at him wishing him to say aloud why he was so worried. Bob to one last look around, cursed and walked off back in the direction of the camp. I sat for a few minutes listening to his footsteps retreating. He was way off now. It was safe to come down. I climbed halfway down the tree and jumped the rest. I landed with a dull thud. I jogged in the direction of the camp keeping next to a tree or bush so I can dive behind if he was to look back. He was back at the camp pacing up and down chewing his nail and his forehead was wrinkled with thought. I wanted to laugh out loud, as the look on his face was funny. But I contained myself given the circumstances I was in. Why was he so worried? Was he going to use me for something major? I had to get in the camp and question him, but how? Morning was coming. The sun had begin to rise. Crap! What the ell am I going to do? I’ll die! I looked around, the trees will give me enough shelter I suppose, I may get a slight sun burn but nothing major. I stood in the shade and watched as bob walked into a small den he had made with some twigs. I studied him, I had seen him before, I knew it. He wore the same type clothes as john. John!!!! Oh, god, he’s probably searching for me, or would he bother? He probably thought I ran away…or maybe he thought I was dragging him down and he left me to die. After all I did nearly expose vampires to the world after I tried to save that woman’s life. I sat in the shadows waiting. After an hour I heard snores coming from the Den. I got up and began to walk across the clearing over to his Den. The sun burnt me arms. I snarled as part of my arm began to sting with pain. When I got to the other side I rubbed my arms tenderly, they were bleeding in places. I had nothing to loose. I ran into the den grabbing one of Bob knifes. I dived onto him placing the knife at his throat. “ Who are you?” I asked sounding a lot tougher than I felt. Bob’s eyes tarred at me, they were red and unfocused. He cleared his throat and his eyes darted around as they came to focus. “ My name is George.” He said sounding slightly scared but it didn’t show in his face. “Why did you take me?” He chuckled. “ I see you didn’t run away. I should have known that.” “ Answer the question.” I growled. His smile faded slightly, and his teeth bared. “ there is no need to talk to me like that!” I stared at him. He moved my hand backwards without any effort though I put loads of effort trying to stop him. He threw me out of his Den, before I had time to get up he was upon me once again. I still had me knife. My hand tightened around it. I trusted it at his throat. He dodged it, just taking the top off his skin. A small trickle of blood travelled down his neck. I looked at his hand. He had a scare, identical to mine. “ I don’t want to fight you! But you’ve left me no choice!” He growled. We wrestled each other, I tried to hang onto the knife, but I failed and he pinned me to the floor the knife to my throat. I gulped, he would kill me in one swift movement. I didn’t stand a chance. A rustling came from behind in the trees. Bob, now known as George looked up but pressed the knife harder on my throat warning me not to move. I laid there not daring to move. My air supply was being cut off. I looked up behind me, only my eyes moving. My vision blurred slightly. Whoever it was didn’t seem threatened by what was going on so they knew George. I gasped for air, I could barely see. I had barely any air left in my lungs. I hit Georgeon the head it wasn’t very hard as my strength was weakening. “ George! Dear god! Let go of him!!!” I heard running foot steps. Everything was blurred. George didn’t let go. I felt a struggle on top of me, the knife moving up and down my throat jaggedly. Who ever it was, was trying to get George off me. “ your killing him!” The voice was familiar. It was a man. But he was to late. George got off me but the air was reluctant to go back into my throat. I was blacking out. Someone helped me sit and I sucked in the air as quick as possible, it felt sharp on my throat as if it were cutting it. I bent my head between my legs. After awhile I could breathe again. I got up to my feet dazed and stumbled over to the trees as I could now feel the sun beating down on my skin. I slumped to the floor breathing heavily as whoever it was, was in a heated conversation with George. I didn’t care right now though. All I cared about was breathing. The man emerged George following him, George looked quite shaken and he looked at me with a sorry expression. My vision was a lot clearer, but things were still a bit blurred. I stared at the other man who was walking towards me. I gasped. It was john! He had found me! It hasn't got a desion point ( again lol), so this can be the first part to the chapter. I stared at it hard trying not to think about my neck that burnt like I had eaten the hottest curry in the world! George as I found out after we got off on the wrong footing is quite a decent man. He thought I was someone trying to help out the Vampaneze. Of course I understood, I would have killed me if I thought I was working for the Vampaneze. But why didn’t he just kill me or question me and then kill me, that seemed a bit odd. “ Daniel…Daniel!!!” Said John as he clicked his fingers in front of my face. “ Uh…sorry.” I muttered. “ I think we should be heading to bed, we’ve had no sleep for a few weeks and it has seemed to catch up on you.” Said John smiling. “ Come on. George has a tent we can borrow.” I got up and followed John around to the edge of the forest. There was a big lump of grass with a massive hole, looked like a fox or badgers nest. John looked around and got down on his knees next to the hole. “ john, what-” He waved a hand to silence me. I stood and stared as he brushed back some of the grass and branched to reveal a bigger hole that you could actually walk down into if you ducked slightly. John got back up and walked in, he beckoned me to come in. I looked around and saw George disappearing into one just like it opposite us. I walked in and watched as john lay out a sleeping bag in the corner. “ Luckily, George left one in here and I brought one in my pack so we both get one. Otherwise you would be very cold tonight.” Said john, you could tell he wasn’t messing around. “ yours is over there,” He said pointing. “I’d get some sleep as we are very busy tomorrow.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I awoke to the noise and rain pouring out downside and the loud chirps of birds. I’ll have to get used to this, as it seems I will be here for quite some time I thought. I slipped out of my sleeping bag trying not to disturb the sleeping John, he’s much nicer when he’s asleep. I clambered up the hole with some difficulty as it was now very slippery with mud. I walked into the rain and felt cold sweep over me making my neck feel fantastic. I walked over to a tree and looked up. Perfect. I began to climb up, and climbed up as high as I could and settled myself in a branch. I stretched as rain poured getting me soaked. I felt the best I had felt in an age, John was right, I must have needed sleep. “ Oi! Dan!” Came a shouting from below. I looked and there was George staring up at me a hand shielding in his eyes from the rain. “ Yeah?” “ What are you doing? You’ll get pneumonia!” “ The rain feels fantastic!” I shouted in response the rain getting heavier. “ oh,” I could here George chuckling. “ I’d join you, but I’m not the best of climbers.” I smiled. “ I suppose its better on your neck?” He rubbed his. “ Yeah sorry about that..” He mumbled. “ No, worries, it wasn’t your fault was it?” I laughed so he wasn’t to be bothered about it. “hmm, yeah I suppose not. Come on, we have to get ready. I doubt if John will be up for another hour, lazy git, but we could get a head start!” I clambered down and went back into my tent. John was mumbling in his sleep, nothing new, he’d been doing that regularly. I went over to Johns sleeping bag and rolled it up, then packed the rest of my stuff. I went over to Johns bag and started to pack when john started shouting in his sleep and tossing and turning like a mad man. I stood staring. “ NO! NO! PLEASE!!!!” He screamed, George couldn’t here from the rain outside. “ no...not her please! A-a-anything!” He had now broken into sobs. “ Uh…John!” I said shaking him. “ JOHN!” I shouted, he couldn’t here me he continued screaming, but now his eyes were open but he was still asleep. I shook him one last time and ran off to find George. “ George!” I shouted from just outside the tent. His head poked out. “ What?” “ It’s John! He’s having some kind of nightmare and I can’t seem to wake him!” I bellowed. “ Ah!” He said. He disappeared for a moment then he climbed out of his tent and ran over. He followed me into the tent, where John continually screamed over and over again “ NO!” “ Oh…not this again!” George groaned. “ JOHN! WAKE UP!” George shouted loudly as he shook John repeatedly, it looked as though Johns neck would break. Johns eyes snapped shut and then open again. He was sweating and panting hard and looked as though he was struggling to focus. “ John!” George sighed, as he slapped John round the face, Johns eyes focused. He looked at me and then at John, then wiped his sweat of his forehead. “ sorry…” He muttered and got out of bed and began to pack his stuff away, quickly and quietly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “ Where are we?” I shouted over the rain as we walked up a steep hill. We had walked at least 6 miles and camp was now no-where to be seen. “ Well, we should be near our camp!” Said George heartily. “ Really?!” Said John now quite happy. “ Yep, I was camping away from it incase someone decided to come and attack again” “ OH!” I shouted. The suddenly stopped and clouds parted to reveal the moon and stars. “ how odd!” John muttered. It was about 7 in the evening, we left about 4- ish as the sun hadn’t come out. I heard music drifting through the air, I began to hum along to the tune. “ Hey, wait! Where’s that music coming from?” I asked. John and George strained there ears. “ It’s our camp!” They said smiling. “ You have excellent hearing, Dan!” George. “ Cheers!” We walked into the camp and everyone looked at us, they were just as I saw in the dream I had while unconscious - hippy like. I looked around, and there was that young girl, I say young but she looks my age maybe a couple of years younger, its hard to tell with vampires. The leader walked up to us, at least from my dream he was the leader. “ Hello, George. Hello John!” He said, he was quite large and had a friendly face. “ And hello Daniel!” He bowed, so did George and John. John gave me a look saying “ come on, be polite!”* I bowed and the leader laughed. “ H-how did you know my name?” I asked. “ I know many things, like your mothers name - Mary” He said and walked off. “ Let the party commence!” The leader beamed and everyone cheered. John, George and most people went to dance around the fire. George grabbed me and made me join in. It was fun, the first bit of fun I’ve had for ages. I laughed with everyone else, enjoying it. I danced for what felt like hours and left the group and went and sat down on a tree stump. I had an awful stitch, horrendous. A polite cough was heard behind me, it was that girl. She handed me a drink. I took the glass then a sudden flash back came back to me from my dream, all of this happened before. I looked to the edge of the forest and saw something move and then saw the happy smiling faces of everyone, none of them had a clue. “ Are you okay?” The girl asked * i have no idea what that face would look like What does dan do? I had to do something, change what happens in my dream so hell doesn’t break out, so the leader doesn’t get hurt, but what? I looked over to John and George and scanned the rest of the vampires, my eyes fell on the Leader, they had no idea that there was something possibly a Vampaneze a few feet away ready to attack the camp and maybe try and get the leader. I walked, well kind of jogged trying to get over to john. It was no good people were everywhere. I couldn’t get through them, it was like a flaming disco at Fenix ( for some reason it was spelt wrong, the owner thought it funny). There has to be something I can do. I looked back over to where he was, the way the person walks suggests it was a male but I wasn’t sure. I thought about shouting for John or even the leader but someone five feet away wouldn’t here me, it was to noisy - the perfect time to attack, when everyone is having a good time drunk with no care in the world. There was only one thing I could do - stop him myself! I ran over to the edge of the forest, no-one would notice me gone, they were to busy enjoying themselves to care. I went further back than the dark figure so he wouldn’t see me. I jogged carefully and quietly over to a rock and leant behind it breathing slowly so he wouldn’t hear me, we were about ten feet away from each other and I could see certain details about him. Yes it was a male, and no it wasn’t a vampaneze. Odd, why would someone come here to attack us if they weren’t vampaneze. But he did have one sharp blade at his belt and he obviously wanted to do damage with it. I put my hand on the wall with a squelch. The man turned round and looked straight at me, he must have been human as he couldn’t see me, or was he playing with me? Maybe there were others like him around…maybe he was a vampaneze but he disguised himself as a human. Enough maybes! That wasn’t going to help! I took my hand off the wall and examined the substance on my hand, it was gooey and very dark. It had to be blood, but not human and not vampire, well not to my knowledge, it had to be animal blood, a bear or something. I peered into the darkness. There didn’t seem to be anyone else around, I sighed, if this was a human it would be a lot easier to deal with. The man edged ever closer to the camp, I felt my stomach tighten, It’s now or never! I got out my pen knife and moved towards him. I trod on a twig. I cursed as he turned round pulling out his small sword* dripping with blood. He looked at me and smiled. I stared at him standing perfectly still. He lunged. I jumped back the sword ripped my clothes and just caught my skin, I felt the blood trckle out of its fresh cut “ Sharp isn’t it?” The voice sounded some what familiar. I tired to think but I just couldn’t place it. I ducked the next attack and rolled out of the way. “Look boy-” “ I’m NOT a boy!” I said through clenched teeth. “ Maybe you should stop acting like one!” He laughed bitterly. I stared at him. Aww does the ickey bickey baby not know what to do without his his so called mentor to show him? Came a voice inside my head, how’d he do that. I have many talents you will never have, see becoming a vampire was a bad idea I stood staring at him. “ Your-” “ Yes, yes!” He said impatiently “ I’m the vampaneze who was going to have you for lunch” He said grinning. He looked back to where the party was. I jumped to my feet and grabbed him round the neck. “ Gerofme!!” He shouted trying to get me off his back. I tightened the grip around his throat tighter. “ Lets get your normal colour back in your cheeks!” I laughed. He slashed his sword at me while trying to shake me off, we were edging closer and closer to the camp. I grabbed the sword as it sliced into my skin and jumped off his back taking the sword with me. I jumped back up pointing the sword at his heart. “ Don’t move!” I said staring hard into his unblinking red eyes. He smiled again and disappeared. “ what the?” I heard movement behind me. “ Lets make this interesting!” He giggled, like a small girl. It was quite scary. He grabbed me by the throat with one hand and before I could react he grabbed my wrist so I couldn’t stab him. “ Lets see you get out of this one alive!” He threw me into the camp and landed right in front of The leader. HAHA! Good isn’t it? Don’t worry I’ll be back to do what I came to another time Came his voice from inside my head. Everything had gone silent, the music and the laughter. I heard a few gasps and I lifted my head to see everyone staring at me. I got to my feet still holding the sword. The leader looked over to someone and then suddenly two large men were on top of me pinning me to the floor so I couldn’t move. To begin with no-one seemed to recognise me. Then- “ Daniel? What is the meaning of this?” Came Johns voice somewhere to my left. what do i say? there not very liely to belive me, it must look bad, me turning up with a sword covered in blood. Me holding it. My heart pumps as I lay pinned unable to speak, not knowing what to say Okay doeky, heres the next chapter :biggrin: So what does he do? _________________ watch out behind you.... *THUD!!!* to late........ !! They were looking at me as if I were a kid who had done something unthinkable. I was twenty-one for Christ’s sakes but to them I was probably a mere child as they were over hundreds of years old. To begin with I just stood there. What could I say? They looked on at me expectant so I went on explaining everything in as much detail as possible as the leader has instructed. I felt like a boy getting punished by the headmaster awaiting the big shout that meant I was in deep trouble. But it didn’t come. I wasn’t interrupted the whole time I spoke which I was very thankful for because if I was interrupted I would have forgot what I was saying and get everything muddled up. I was thinking about lying but if that vampaneze could read minds what if these vampires could? So I told the truth now feeling glad I did as John would probably of guessed I lied as he knows me a lot more than anyone else and knows when I lie… well sometimes. I stopped and left it where we heard something and the vampenze legged it, I did however keep back the fact that he spoke in my head. They might think I’m mad saying stuff like that or think I’m a liar. Anyway they got what they needed to know and that’s what mattered. They all stared at me, their eyes felt as though they were looking deep inside me looking to see if I were lying. The leader looked a bit paler than usual but it could have been the fire light playing tricks but his face was grim, very grim. “ Hmm, well I believe what you say. You don’t seem to be a liar even if you did hesitate.” I looked at the floor. “ I see your bleeding , so you must have put up a good fight. I thank you, you did honour to the clan.” Some of the vampires gasped around me. I looked up to the Leader. Our eyes locked on each others for a moment it seemed as if we really understood each other. The moment disappeared as quickly as it had come. “We’d better get you cleaned up, we don’t want them cuts to get infected. We can’t be doing with more trouble. Alexis, take Daniel off to the medical room.” The girl, well I say girl she didn’t look much younger than me and she was probably older, took me over to a hut by the side of the fire. “ Sit.” She said motioning to a stall. I sat now extremely exhausted. I sat going over what had happened. She pushed me back slightly and put a hot sponge on my face to cleanse the dirt and blood off. I was so deep in my thought I just seemed to drift off into deep sleep without realising. *** I felt a sharp stabbing pain in my right shoulder. I gasped in pain trying to sit up and find out why I was in so much pain. I couldn’t move. I opened my eyes slowly, I was still in the hut. Someone was sitting on me, I tried to move my head. “ Don’t move!! It will cause damage and then I’ll have to start over!” Came Alexis voice from above. I tried to speak but something was clogging up my throat. I coughed to clear it. “ what are you doing?” “ Shhh! Be quiet! We don’t want anyone to hear or we’ll both be in trouble! Especially you!” I laid there thinking. What on earth? “ Look, you have the vampaneze mark!” “ I have the whata?” I asked in a whisper. “ the vampaneze mark! It something only a true vampaeze has! When the Vampaneze caught you, it must have been for this! There are people in the world with this mark! Some are bron with it destined to become a vampaneze some are not. Some get this mark when they encounter something big in their life that shows there true colours! Something must have happened to you for this to happen! You would have noticed the mark if you were born with it!” I didn’t move thinking hard. Well… I didn’t have a birth mark and no odd marks that I know of. “ the only things I have encountered in my life that would show my true colours was when I broke up with my girlfriend and when I firt ran into a vampaeze or John!” “ no, it wouldn’t happen if you ran into a vampire. Breaking up with a girlfriend maybe…but a vampaeze encounter. I don’t know. I really don’t!” She sat there poking and proding me with something for another ten minutes before getting off me. She put a hand out to help me up. I took it and she leaned close to my ear. “ I have burned the top layer of your skin off so the mark is not visible but soon it will re-appear. You need to find out how you got that mark and fast! No matter what is happeing , you need to find it quick and soon!” _________________ watch out behind you.... *THUD!!!* to late........ !! It was like the flames didn’t have a care in the world, all they had to do was dance. Everyone else was in bed as the sun was beginning to rise. I could feel my skin beginning to burn slightly but I ignored it concentrating on the flames. “ Daniel? What’s wrong? You’ve been sitting here for the last few hours letting your skin burn. Are you trying to kill yourself?” It was John. He was standing behind me, half in the shade. I looked at him. Should I tell him about it, or would it be best to keep it to myself? “ Come on. Lets hit the hay. You’ll be needing your sleep as tonight and probably the early hours of the morning me, you and a few others will be guarding the camp in case any unwanted visitors decide to turn up and try anything funny.” Now was not the time to tell him, maybe the time would never some. I got up and followed him into the forest where the trees stopped the sun from coming through. It was so dark it was as if it were night, it was hard to believe otherwise. John got into a sleeping bag next to someone else in the clan and motioned me to get in the other one next to him. I did as I was told and lay for what felt like hours before drifting off into a dreamless sleep. I woke with I start, I couldn’t breath. I couldn’t speak. What the hell was happening. I opened my eyes and saw John was on top of me strangling me. “ John! John! What the fungus are you doing???” I whispered. He didn’t respond. I grabbed at his hands trying to get them off. No use, it was like they were rock! I looked at him. Was he asleep? His eyes were glazed over but he looked very awake. But he could b. “ John!” I said, slightly louder but that was as loud as I’d be able to get with him clamping down on my throat. I wasn’t going to be able to wrench his hands off my throat so- I took my fist and swung it into his face. My knuckles collided with his cheekbone. His grip loosened slightly not expecting it but it tightened up again as quick as he had loosened this time with much more force cutting off all my air. He started to mutter. I tried making out what he was saying as I clawed at his hands. “ You’ll pay for what you did to her!!!!! YOU B******!!!!!” Her? He’s mentioned a ‘her’ before in a dream he had. A few of the vampires around me stirred. I needed to get him off me and shut him uop before who woke the entire clan! Once again I got my fist and this time swung at his nose. My knuckles hit the target. There was a loud crack and then John let go of me holding his nose muttering even more, but I couldn’t make a word of it. I took in a couple of deep breaths each one burning my throat and swung at him again. He fell to the floor and his eyes shut and then flickered open.. I retched as I took in a deep breath that felt like it were splitting my throat in two. “ Daniel?” “ What?” I wheezed as I dizzy spell washed over me. “ What happened?” He got up and helped me get my balance. “ Well…you decided… it’d be fun to… strangle me… in your sleep.” I coughed as I my throat started to take in air slightly better. “ Oh. Daniel I am sorry. I didn’t mean-” “ Look, it doesn’t matter, it’s fine. Just what were you dreaming about? You’ve were shouting about something about a ‘her’. You’ve had this dream before but last time you didn’t strangle me.” He looked at me then at the floor. “ It…well, um. You see, I had someone close to me.” “ what a girlfriend?” I said now intrigued. “ Well…yes. Shut up! Do you want to know or what?” “ Uh…Sorry.” “ Hmm, well we were out in the forest when we got ambushed by a lode of vampaneze I tried to fight them but there were to many and I was knocked out. When I woke she was gone and so were they. All that was left was a lot of the blood on the floor and on the trees near by. And by the smell it was definitely hers. There was so much blood there was no way she could live, impossible.” He looked at me, now looking angry. “ That’s all there is to it. Now if you don’t mind I’m going back to sleep. Oh, and uh, sorry about the.” He pointed to my throat. I nodded to show it was fine and watched as he got back into bed. When I was certain everyone was asleep I got up out of my sleeping bag and walked to the edge of the forest. I looked around the camp. No-one was around. I went over to the little wooden hut known as the ‘medical room’ and slipped inside making sure no-one as around. Now I needed something to cover up this mark before anyone sees it. It was already beginning to show and if anyone was to see it hell would break out. Well, that’s the way Alexis made it feel. I looked around. There was some cloth around but I would have to stitch it to my clothing, and I’m not too good at sewing. There were a few wooden boxes on the floor. They were small but may have something in them that might help. I picked up the first box and opened it. Just different coloured substances, looked like they were made with natural things as it looked like paint but not like the paint you get in shops. “ what are you doing?” Came a voice behind me. I waltzed round. Sighed. It was Alexis. “ Are you looking for something to cover up the mark?” “ Yeah.” “ Well, that paint there is used for the clan tattoos. We could use that and put at tattoo on the mark or make the mark look like a tattoo.” She said looking quite smart as if she had solved a murder inquiry. “ Tattoos??” “ There’s no need for the shocked face. You get tattoos where you used to live right? So what’s the big deal? Didn’t think vampires like that sort of thing?” She said. “ Uh…no, that’s not it. It’s just…well-” “ Anyway,” She said cutting in. “ Do you want a tattoo or what?” “ Well, yes alright.” “ but afterwards, you’re going to go and find out how you got it right?” “ Hmm…ok.” I nodded. “ Good. Sit on this stool and don’t move or make any sound!” I nodded again and sat on the stool. I sat there as she got the paints out and thought about when I had the very small dragon tattoo I had on my left arm. It didn’t actually hurt that much. It was just the noise of the needle that put you off. “ OK, ready!” She said. She undid the paint pot with a ‘phump’. But I didn’t hear a noise, the sound the needle would usually make. Wait, there was no electricity here either. How the fu- Pain shot through the top right corner of my back. It took me by surprise, I retched feeling my stomach shoot into my throat. “ Hold still!” Came a voice sounding very far away. It felt as if I was going to faint (which I’ve been doing quite a lot lately haven’t I?) when suddenly the pain stopped. “ there all done!” Alexis said handing me a strange mirror. “ where’d you get the mirror?” “ Uh, well we visited a town once and I decided to buy it. I loved that town, I would have stayed forever if I could.but we had to come back here as a war was breaking out.” She sighed then smiled. “ Do you like it then?” I turned my head and looked at it. I could see the top half, it looked like a moon with clouds around it. I got the mirror and put it under the tattoo. I gasped. It was amazing like a professional had done it. It was a wolf that looked a bit like a cat but you could tell if you looked at it. The wolf was howling to the moon, which was my mark. “ I like it! It’s exceptionally good how you disguised the mark as a moon!” I said and looked at her. She was staring at me, looking slightly worried. “ what?” “What happened to your neck? It looks extremely bad, was someone trying to kill you?” “ Oh, that. No, I just got into a fight with someone. As you do.” I said and winked at her. She smiled. She wasn’t totally convinced. She probably thought it was the Vampaneze who did this to me. She would never suspect John of doing it. “ Daniel! Come on!! It’s starting to get dark!” It was John shouting by the edge of the camp. “ I’ve got to go. I’m keeping watch tonight.” I said and walked out the hut and over the John And sorry about it not having a decition point. As far away from John as possible, thank the lord. I was not looking forward to morning. His nightmares were gradually getting worse…and every time they did I was always the one who got hurt. Maybe, he would have a dreamless sleep in the morning, to tired to dream, maybe. I stood the moon shining through the trees. Shivering slightly as the cold wind ran into me, trying to blow me over. Tonight was going to be a long night, a long cold night. I sighed and began to pace up and down my area trying to warm up. I jumped, hearing a twig snap in the woods near by. I looked around, trying to see if anyone was looking so I could signal them, but no-one was going my way. Not even John. Damn it! I haven’t got a choice, I’m going to have to go and look myself, or it will all be my fault if the camp gets rampaged by a load of wolves or a bear or worse…Vampaneze. I shuddered, but not from the cold, from the idea of the Vampaneze lurking in the woods waiting, waiting for there chance to come in a slaughter us…or do whatever that Vampeneze from before wanted with me. What did he want with me? Why didn’t he kill me? And what does that mark mean? I shook my head, trying to get rid of the thoughts of Vampaneze. I walked slowly into the forest holding on to the small dagger in my pocket. I smiled, if I couldn’t use my dagger I could use the gun in my pocket. I took it from John while he was sleeping. He hadn’t noticed, so it didn’t really matter. I jumped behind a tree. It probably would make no difference if I hid as these Vampaneze seem extremely talented, so as I’m a rookie I suppose they would be able to kill me before I even knew they were there. I heard laughing behind me. I jump spinning on the spot drawing out my dagger and standing in a defence position. I stood listening, not even breathing. Then sighed. It was coming from the camp. I continued walking in the deep dark shadows of the trees, not feeling as anxious as I once was, I had found no Vampaneze and the sun was beginning to rise now. They would not dare venture in the sun, they are more prone to sunlight than vampires were. I turned around and started to make my way back to camp. I could feel my skin starting to burn as I stepped onto the edge of the camp. No-one else was awake. It must be late morning by now. I scratched my arms as they burned and looked up at the glorious sun. It is strange how you miss something like the sun, I never realised how much I loved it. Laughter came from behind me. I grabbed for my knife, panic flaring through my body. I gripped it and turned around. I was too late. It jumped from the shadows, on top of me. Its laughter ringing in my ears as its hands tightened round my neck. I tried to move, cry for help but it was useless with it on top of me. I felt the world around me spinning away from me as it, the Vampaneze squeezed tighter and tighter around my throat and all I could hear was the Vampanezes laughter so loud. Echoing around me. Why could no-one hear it? Hear this evil laughter… Here is half of the next chapter lol, if there is anything wrong with it please let me know lol. I felt myself shiver. “ Torture, ay? Ha! This is going to be much more than torture! Go on Stu.” Stu? Who the hell is Stu? As I thought about this someone ran into the middle of the cave. Whoever it was looked scared, and had long curly hair nad seemed to be wearing a really nice top with jea- “ Julie? Julie, is that you?” She looked at me, I could see tears trickling down her face. Then I saw behind her ( if he already has a name let me know, I can’t remember and I can’t find anything about a name) Lance. I saw something flash, and he grabbed her pulling a blade by her throat. Leave her alone!!!” “ Hmm…no.” Lance smiled at me, pushing the blade into her neck, a bit further, drawing blood. “ Dan, p-please.” She whimpered. I couldn’t do anything even if I tried. I was tied up, my feet not touching the ground, what could I do? He was pushing it in further. “ W-w-what are you doing master?” Julia whimpered. Master? Her form seemed to be changing, switching between her and someone else, it continued flickering then it stopped as suddenly as it started. “ J-john?” I whispered. “ what are you doing you dimwit!” Lance shouted, at what appeared to be John. I just stared. Again the image began to change. “ I-I- I can’t help it, sir. It wont stop.” Came a whiny voice. Lance dropped…it as it kept changing. I laughed, this was turning into a comedy show. Lance was fighting with a transvestite! I stopped. This was my chance to escape. I would not get this chance to escape again. They would kill me! But how? Maybe I could trick the dimwit as lance likes to call him. Tell him I will help him…or I could wait, the sun was rising, I could wait and see what happens, find other ways of escaping. There’s got to be something, then I noticed, the sun. The sun was rising and some was already coming into the cave, it had nearly reached my foot. Were they trying to kill me? No, its not much sun, it would only hurt me, may make me bleed a little but not too much. I strained my hands on the rope again. “ God damn it!” I muttered. I was swinging so hard with my hands that one scratched against the cave surface. “ ow!” I could feel some blood trickling out of a small cut from where I’d scraped it. The cave wall!! I pushed my hands back as far as I could and started moving them right, left, right, left. Over and over. I could feel the rope rubbing against it. This would surely cause the rope to break - from the sharpness of the cave wall and the friction! What took me so long? They still did not notice, even five minutes later when they’re fight began to die down. I needed to work faster because once the fight is over they’ll begin they’re work on me again. I moved frantically. “ Come on, come on!” The sweat was dripping down my face as I strained. I was about halfway through the rope. I could do it! Com on! “ What do you think your doing, Daniel?” Came Lance’s voice in my ear. I jumped, scraping my hands across the wall again. Lance grinned down on me. “ Are you trying to escape?” I said nothing, I closed my eyes. I couldn’t escape. He knew what I was doing and now I’d pay the price for trying. We’re going to go and kill that clan you seemed to have take a shine to and then bring your ’mentor’ and kill him right in front of you!” He said his eyes glinting with excitement. I stared at him, I couldn’t speak. I was angry but I knew I could do nothing. Nothing! Lance turned and began to walk away. I could hear him laughing. Stu followed him, and left me tied up. They went deep into the cave where I could not see them, even with this weird anger I couldn’t feel them anymore. I thrashed around wildly, not even trying to get free, just trying to get rid of the anger. Hours past and night fell again. I heard movement in the darkness and Lane and Stu came out from where they were sleeping. I had stopped thrashing, my anger still not subsided, sweat running down my face. Lance walked straight past me whilst Stu half ran past me, shaking slightly. Lance turned flashed me a smile and went. I hung there, thinking of what would be happening right now. Would they be there yet? Who would be dead? All I could see was horrible images of people dying, the leader, Alexis… “ you B£$(£)%!!!” I screamed, my anger spilling out. I couldn’t contain it anymore. He’d really taken the biscuit. I thrashed wildly, the ropes broke and before I knew what I was doing I ran out of the cave, jumping down into the forest. I didn’t know where I was or where I was going. I could smell them. They were not too far away. I would find them. And I would kill them. I laughed, this would be fun. I’ll enjoy the moment. I ran, faster than ever. I didn’t care what was in my way - I smashed down trees with this insane strength. I didn’t care about the noise it was creating, John’s clan could be in trouble, they need me and this strength. I knew where I was now. I was a couple of miles from camp. Yes! I hope the camp is okay. I didn’t slow my pace, I kept going even through this odd pain that was coursing through my body. I shook with rage and just ahead of me I could smell someone. “ You cant run forever!” I screamed. I felt like I was losing the plot, but what does it matter if I save the clan in the process. It seemed they hadn’t even reached the camp yet. I could be lucky. I laughed, uncontrollably, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them and kill them. I ran through a clump of trees and there was John standing in the middle. I stopped. “ Ahhh, Daniel it’s you! I wondered who was making that noise.” His face looked concerned. “ Where have you been? We’ve been worried.” He asked. I looked at him and anger began flooding through me again. This was a trick, it must be Stu mucking around again. I wont fall for it twice! But what if I’m wrong. He was looking at me, was it John? No, no it couldn’t be. He’d be looking for me, or trying to get the clan to safety. This wasn’t John. No time for hesitation. I ran. Ran, screaming out my rage as I hit Stu in the face. He fell backwards, falling legs sprawled, onto the floor. He looked shocked. “I wont fall for it twice!!” I said and ran at him again, picking up a stick off the floor to stab him. He scrambled backwards. “ No!! Everyone now!!!” Everyone? I stopped in front of him, stick pointed at his chest, inches from his heart. He looked around me, I followed his gaze. Everyone surrounded me. The whole clan. Was I wrong? Was this John? “ John?” I muttered. He looked at me, his eyes sad. I stared at him disbelieving. “ How? Where are they?” Everyone was closing in on me. John motioned at them to stop. “ Where’s who?” He asked softly. I looked at him, my anger beginning to fade. I opened to answer, but before I could this excruciating pain flooded throughout my body. I cried out falling to my knees. “ NOW!” I heard John scream, and I felt something strike me on the head. I smiled, closing my eyes as darkness swallowed me up, taking away the pain. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The smell of a burning wood, filled my nostrils. I opened my eyes slowly and found myself in a big wooden cage at the edge of the camp. I sat up, rubbing my head feeling dried blood from the blow to the head. I was grateful for whoever did knock me out. The pain was bad, but if they didn’t I could have really killed John, john my mentor, my teacher, my friend. I sighed. Why have they put me in a cage? I wouldn’t hurt them. I only wanted to kill Lance and Stu, they needed to be killed before they killed everyone else. My body felt numbed, and my senses. The must have injected me with something, they obviously didn’t trust me and were scared of me getting angry. I didn’t blame them, I’m scared of me. What’s happening to me? Whatever it was I didn’t like it, I nearly killed a close friend and teacher and my body feels like its had the loving hell kicked out of it twenty times over, not even the drugs they’ve given me can stop me feeling it. Eventually, the leader came over to me. I looked up as him and he stared down at me, his eyes boring into my skull. I looked away, ashamed of what I had done, I couldn’t apologise and he wouldn’t understand anyway. “ I do understand and I know it’s not your fault.” I jumped startled, could he read my mind? “ I know that Lance and his assistant have been torturing you for some while and I also know why you are feeling so angry and your body feels like it’s falling apart.” “ Why?” He sighed and sat on the floor next to the cage. “Well, what we didn’t know. Well, what John didn’t know was that Lance had already put some vampaneze blood into you before john turned you into a vampire. So technically your both, half-half. Now, we don’t know why he did that, why Lance gave you blood, because he didn’t fully blood you, only partly but it has seemed to be enough to fight the vampire blood. We are going to look into why he has done this as usually he is just a killing machine like most other vampires. But, the vampires blood is fighting the vampire blood and this s destroying the cells in your body, in a slow process. It is slowly killing you. Sometimes you can live as one type of blood will override the other and you will end up vampire or vampires but the other, which seems what is happening to you, is that it slowly destroys you turning you into some kind of monster that goes around killing everything and anything not caring how you go about it. You will be a danger to yourself and others.” He paused and looked me in the eye. “ This is why we must do it.” “ Do what?” I asked puzzled. “ Kill you of course.” I opened my mouth to shocked to speak. “ We will give you an honourable death of course.” “ That makes it alright then?” I said sceptically. The leader sighed. “ Yes, you shouldn’t be getting one because your blood is tainted it, but because it’s not you fault I’m sure our gods and if you believe your god or gods will forgive you of your sins and let you into heaven.” I snorted “ Your deluded. Heaven? They’ll forgive my sins?” The Leaders face turned to stone and his voice lost its happiness. “ I thought you were a nice young man, Daniel. There is no need to be rude, if you do not believe. We will some for you later.” He said and walked off, not saying another word. I looked after him. How were they going to kill me? I shook my head. I didn’t care, all I needed to do was escape. The question was How? Lol, if theres anything wrong like mistakes or anything let me know because it's very late lol. but hopefully there shouldn't be to many because storms going to read it so i can edit it lol.
