Chapter 6 voting is up!

The choices above have been created from suggestions to the previous chapter (click the previous chapter link to read the chapter and comments).

This poll will be up for 1-2 weeks. At the end of that time, the choice that has the most votes will become the basis for chapter 7.

Anyone is welcome to vote, although you must be registered and logged in. You can only vote on each poll once. Feel free to discuss the choices or try to sway people to vote one way or the other.

Must suggest numero dos. As important as it is, you Lodevar needs to stress the importance of saving his people to the Emperor.

Hmm... how about taking advantage of the situation? delay the meeting as long as possible and get some spies to get info on this guy sent by the emperor... try to get him to go on our side... put a good word or to in about us.

Also... try to meet each of them seperately... to gain an advantage in the next conversation and etc.

Anyway....whoever it was(I don't remember) I agree with them. I chose the second answer by the way and it seems to be the most popular. Smile

HEY PEOPLE, HOW DO I PUBLISH A STORY?????? WELL ANYWAY< HERE"S A PREVIEW OF MY FIRST CHAPTER, HOPE YOU LIKE IT

Bushido

You were born a peasant by law, you have grown up as peasant, you will always be a peasant, your job is to harvest the millet and rice from the fields, tend to your work animals, although most of you in the village have no animals to take care of, and most of all, to respect your highers… It is medieval Japan in the late 13th century, the country is ravaged by war, as nobles fight for power and wealth, robbers pillage small villages, samurai fight for honor and skill, ronin’s- masterless samurai, rome the country-side, and clans struggle to survive in the mad and mayhem, and you are but a simple peasant in a small village called Sanpawa, gathering rice to sell in the market in a nearby town, and eating millet so as to not have to waste rice, although you hate the taste, you have a wife of about your age, and you love her, but most of all, you are happy… One day, as you’re out gathering wood and small branches from a small forest next to your village, you hear horsemen galloping up the slope which then leads down to your village, and instinctivly you hide behind a pile of lumber. As the riders come closer, raising small dust clouds behind them, as you look at the men’s faces, you can see that your instincts paid off, they are robbers, and you fear for your village. You think of running down the hill and crying out to your neighbors and wife, warning them about the robbers, but they would shurly kill you, and even if the villagers heard your warning, they would have no where to run, and would slowly be cut down, until the whole village was murdered, and that would be a waste of your life. So you wait and listen. As the robber that looks in command nears the downrise of the hill ( he wears a heavy mask over his face, his armor is steel-plated, he rides the best horse, and all around him keep their distance) he speaks.
“ It doesn’t look like they have harvested their crops yet, I remember that we came here a few years ago.’
And then another bandit in some ragged clothes, and a black tooth in his crooked smile spoke up front.
“ Let us just take their food and women, little that they have.”
At this, you feel like jumping up and strangling him, but you check yourself in time.
“No,” spoke the leader “Let us wait but a couple of weeks, and then hunt upon them, when their crops are harvested and ripe, as well as their women.”

Got a better idea for you. Contact the IF Gamemaster, Keavney, and send him your story idea. And soon enough you will have your own forum for your story. This forum is ONLY for discussing The Ram. It looks pretty good so far. I recognize the ear, its close to the Meiji Restoration, isn't it?

Ok, I sent it, now I can only wait for Keavney's reply. Oh, I didn't really now what time period it was, only that it was around 13-14 century Japan...By the way is the Ram sort of like Spartacus or is it my imagination??

Though I do not usually go with popular opinion, I think in this case it is best to contact the Bullroars through a third party and make sure his information is correct so far. And is it me, or have the merfolk been suspiciously generous to him? However, I must admit that I have only brought myself up to speed through summaries at the start of each chapter, only having read chapters one and six in their entirety, so my grasp of the situation is very likely flawed.

Also, a question for keavney: The map that appears in Chapter 6 looks great, what program did you use to make it? I want to say campaign cartographer, but it looks a little off for that.

You're not that far behind. But I do agree with that the merfolk are certainly entertaining his every whim.

Thanks. I created the map in Flash, then exported it and did some fine-tuning in Fireworks. I haven't heard of Campaign Cartographer. Is that a good program?

ok people i see theres more people lately and time is running out! i have to warn you that if you dont go with my idea (last option) you will all be cursed! you dont want that hanging over your family do you? besides look at the sense of it, you dont have to tell the merpeople what to do-all you have to do is tell the bullroars what to do! tell them to go to a remote island where u can freely, safely and something else negotiate with them with no fear of being hurt because you will have thirty bows with 3' thick arrows notched on them-right in their face! imagine it! you will have no fear at all in their prescence! freedom of anything! well keep it in mind of that curse that will linger over you eventually...

Anyways, thats my two cents worth-peace lol

Well, it's the obvious thing to do, knightsrepublic, but that's just what they expect... Maybe they sent some suicide bullroars to kill you, and anyway, it will be smart to see what they say when the emperors representative isn't there...

I'm writing like hella...

Well keavney, I've never done a project with it, but a guy I know had it and let me mess around with it a few times. Basically, it is specifically for making game maps. You can render with fractals, use layers, create navigation lines, etc. Such things as forest or mountain markers, as well as forts, roads, scale lines and compasses are treated as objects that you can drag and drop in place either one at a time or in pre-defined groupings. All of those objects have multiple variations as well, so you can make various types of maps on any scale, including dungeons.

Here's the thing - I believe if I remember right that it's price is either just approaching, or well into the triple digits. So you only want to get that if you are very serious about your maps.

There's not much sense in doing that. I mean, we could all do that if we're in that same predicament. But I don't think you can have the meeting without the merpeople knowing. They have control of the sea, and they know the island. They may even have spies among the Sheepheads people.

Thanks to everyone who voted. The winning vote was to contact the Bullroars through someone besides the merfolk, to see what they want.
