Overall Synopsis (catch up now! well... close anyhow... an updated synopsis is coming soon.):
Pillbox is a story about an American soldier, Sergeant Mack, who, having been injured in a suprise attack by Iraqi resistance fighters, has been offered a chance to heal his severed legs. The price of this offer has been that he must leave behind his life, everyone he knew, and be pronounced dead to the world forever.
Having accepted the offer, Mack has been introduced into a super secret branch of the Army, the LRP(Limb Replacement Program). The LRP is using top secret, untested methods to recover top quality soldiers from debilitating injuries, turning them into super soldiers.
The technology basis behind the LRP operation comes from secrets derived from the archaeological remains of the Sumerian (ancient Iraq) culture, a society that claims they learned their secrets from the 'gods', the Annunaki, who created the human race for the intention of mining the earth in servitude. At some period later in the historical account, the Annunaki scattered and divided the human race, and turned away from our awareness, leaving us to fend for ourselves.
The primary, most valuable technological secrets derived from the Sumerian texts, regard ways to use mono atomic elements, such as Monoatomic Gold. With this powdery substance, the LRP has acheived the ability to heal and enhance soldiers, and create amazing vehicles capable of speeds unheard of and limitless anti-gravitational capabilities, infused even into the hoverchair which Mack has been using to get around.
Having been introduced to the secret compound of the LRP, lying at the bottom of the Potomac river in Washington DC, Mack has met General Sternheim, the commander of the LRP operation, a gruff but colorful character, Kape, a man with the head of a GOAT!,
Natalia Dragosava, a Sexy Lab assistant, and the Scientists heading the operation. His guide, from the beginning has been Sydney Blake, a leggless man as well, who reminds Mack of Kevin Bacon. Sydney is, by far, the one whom Mack is most comfortable with at the moment.
Once SGT Mack had his fill of information he began to weary. Wanting to get healed soon, he decided to rest before the procedure, however, during his rest, he has been attacked while dreaming. His assailant was an evil shadowy Imp, hellbent on choking him to death.
During his battle with the Imp, he was saved by a marauding Kape, the goatman, who mightily battled the demon. However, the wounds he took in the fight had taken their toll, and Mack had slipped away into unconsciousness.
Rushed into the healing process, Mack's mind again fled into the dream world, only to be yet again assailed by a gargantuan Dragon from before recorded history, this time the attack taking place in the dream realms. Escaping her assault by focusing on the pain his body was in, he re-emerged into the physical, to find himself repaired.
Meanwhile, the Beast has found that Mack has a love dear to him, his sister. Brenda Mack, known by night in Las Vegas as Phantasy, moraly destroyed by the news of his 'death', is being persued as a possible means of striking at Mack. A lord of evil, the master of the Dragon, has sent one of his operatives, a gambler who's traded his soul for flawless luck, to hire Brenda for an as of yet unknown job.
Mack is now an augmented superhuman who's about to get a complete explanation of the mysterious 'pills' he's heard he will be using.

Ok, pretty simple stuff.
1. If you visit this thread, please sign in.
2. I'm leaving the chapter commentaries unlocked. Feel free to post comments on the chapters as you read them.
3. Feel free to use the Synopsis to catch up and jump right into the most recent chapter. I don't want new readers getting bogged down in trying to read each chapter before participating.
4. Have fun!

Pillbox has been running at one chapter per week. New chapters post on Saturdays. Discussion begins immediately and carries through in the most recent chapter thread till the next chapter is posted. Polls are posted between Wednesday and Friday. I'm trying to make them Wednesdays but sometimes I leave little time to vote, unfortunately. Then we start all over again! :biggrin:
