Episode:Derivatives
Chapter One
---
Chief Engineer Cyberworm scurried down the corridors of the Galaxy Raven 9, absentmindedly greeting the tramp in the S.T.O.R.M. model garbage bin, and finally managed to find a spare turbolift. Tapping in the number-code for the bridge, he whirred his eyepiece at a small crack. That would have to be repaired… The doors wooshed open, and his robolegs carried him into the expansive room, one wall of which was a flat screen television and the other wall of which was lined with control panels.
“The com-channels are out of alignment, captain. It’ll take about three hours to get them up again.”
Captain Nene Vergirl threw up her hands. She was wearing a yellow bodysuit with an uncounted amount of pockets, black boots, and a very annoyed expression. Her voluptuous body barely fit into her clothing. “Great. Perfect. How many more problems will we have before we leave dock?”
First Mate Rune, a man in a pink suit, turned to the captain quietly. “There is nothing to worry about. I am sure all of our problems will be dealt with before we leave the station.”
NeNe locked gazes with the man. She had been informed of his special capabilities, and most certainly did not want them used on him. “I’m sure,” she snapped, before stalking off to the turbolift with an escort of male eyes.
Cyberworm glanced at Rune. “Bit touchy, isn’t she?”

Inside the turbolift, the captain shook her long hair. The nerve of that man, trying to manipulate her mind! How dare he!
“Excuse me, you’re in my space.”
NeNe looked at the tramp in the S.T.O.R.M. “Sorry.” She moved a bit to the side. Light music played. NeNe glanced at the woman.
“Sooo… You do know we’ll be leaving dock soon, right?”
“No.”
“Um… Well, we will.”
The Tramp was silent. She began prodding her fingernails in search of any dirt. NeNe had heard she was a bit of a clean freak, but this...
The doors finally wooshed open.
“NeNe! How nice of you to come down!”
A tall pale man in a black cloak smiled a fanged smile at the captain. She returned with a half-grin. “Aren’t you supposed to be counseling somebody, Meph?”
The man chuckled. “Nope, nothing on the schedule. What say I vink your blahd?”
“How about we just share a champagne?”
“Meh, I’m full anyways. And I wanted to talk to you about something.” The man held out a winglike arm, which NeNe took. Ah well, this was worth that weird first mate.
Side by side, they strode to 1701 Forward. The tramp looked after them contemplatively. She remembered those days, the innocence of youth...
The doors whooshed shut.

hmm, knowing meph the way that i do, i am fairly certain that he wants to chat about something that he is always known to be chatting about. He wants to talk to her about.......her disturbed feelings that she has felt ever since killing the previous first mate! She feels that she may be losing touch with her inner strength, because she shouldn't feel bad at all for killing the slimy, old, touchy-feely guy.
Good start MW. I was slightly concerned, but... I feel a little better now.

Hey MW, very well thought out if not a bit rushed. why dont we try and flesh it out a bit?
I will bid 25 fables to do a bit of a rewrite/expand on the first chapter and carry on from the DP...
As for Meph? He is a devious man and he better keep his hands to himself or he will be swimming with the comets same as the last first-mate...
AS for Rune? Im on to you boy!

So far for the dp we have "First Mate's a real Ashinti" and "Let's Vamp, love!" We also have a bid for 25 from mon capiton for the next chapter. Anybody else?
Also, I hereby instate the perogitive that each episod lasts five chapters. Thus, five writers an episode, and NO repeat writers. That's right, I won't be back for a while!

Well a fairly similar 'gist' that is. Except its a starship headed out of the universe per se. Anyways.... looks good. Pas mal (means not bad in French). But a little tipsy on the description. Although maybe that's my own craziness???....

Nene and Meph sat opposite one another in comfy love seats of soft, plush velvet. The blood red color seemed to heighten the tones of Nene's pale skin, while making Meph look more gray than usual. The comfort of the chairs allowed for better conversations, amongst other things, and Meph was really hoping for a good session with Nene.
"So, Captain, how are things going for you this week?" Meph smiled. Smiling was always a good thing to do when trying to get extra bonuses out of you work.
"Well, you should bloody well know how are things are going, you talk to me every week! Do you really think that a week makes that much difference in a persons' life?" Nene was in one of her pissy, sarcastic moods, again.
"Nene, why do you lash out at me so?"
"I just want to be a pain in your butt!" Nene smiled a big grin, and thoughts suddenly sprung into Meph's mind, totally unbidden of course, but very nice to dwell on, later, when he was alone perhaps. "I am just so totally stoked about our new mission. I mean, how often do we get to ride through space, to try to find a planet that no one really knows even exists? This is just so totally cool!"
"So you like the fact that we are traveling hundreds of light years away from charted territory in order to ascertain the existence of a planet that someone thinks may exist?" Meph was totally not cool with the mission, mainly because he wondered how long his food supply would last before he had to start feeding on his fellow crew mates. Would they hold great blood drives in order to satiate his thirst, or would he get to tap the fount and dine in a more pleasing manner?
"Whatever are you thinking of Meph?" Nene was looking at Meph, a quizzical expression upon her face.
"I was wondering if I would have the chance to taste you on this voyage, Nene, that is all."
Nene giggled, perhaps because she misunderstood his meaning. "Well, maybe not now, okay Meph? We got other things to focus on."
Just then, the emergency lights in Meph's room turned a violent shade of puke green. A voice came over the speaker system. "Captain Nene! Your immediate presence is required on the bridge! We have an emergency here!"
Nene looked at Meph. "Could you help me out here?"
"Of course Captain." Meph stood, as did Nene. Taking a step towards one another, Meph embraced her, then, they were gone, only to re-appear on the bridge. There were many cat calls and jeering over their sudden arrival. Nene looked fiercely at her crew. "Now is not the time for this! What is the emergency here?"

firstly i want to see a reference to the crazy amount of expendibly shirted crew kicking around in the next 'episode'.
secondly i think it should be a MAJOR disaster like the shuttle that was bringing NeNe's supply of shoes and outfits was attacked by Jimmy Choo, Prada loving gay space pirates!

How about something goes wrong with the ship - like a wing falling off or something, and the crew draw straws on who's going to do the crazy spacewalk, complete with space suits and jet packs to get it fixed.

I'll go with Neg's idea, BUT with an added twist. The gay pirates are only a tiny part of a huge pirate operation (led by whoever will become the main villain in this). They send a small ship also to attack the... whatever Neg's ship is called. For whatever reason, they want to stop them reaching this planet.
Oh, and in related news, I've found Weaver on smackjeeves. Should I message him?

maybe RUne (in his pink space suit) is really the leader of the gay space pirates? or in a dashing plot twist he could be a straight macho ladies man, mans man, man about town that just happens to have a penchant for pink....

The comms engineer, resplendent in a bright red shirt with the word "Expendable" emblazoned on his back pointed to the screen. The image on it wobbled, rolled vertically for a few seconds before crackling and going blank.
"We nearly got it going that time!" he cried excitedly. Fiddling with the control panel again he managed to bring an image back into view.
Nene disengaged herself from the envelope of Meph's cloak and gazed earnestly at the screen.
Various ships of the fleet moved gracefully between the docking bays in front of a magnificent backdrop of the shimmering dusty glow of the galaxy's outer limb.
"You brought me up here just to tell me you almost got it working?" she snapped.
"Er... no..," he replied, blushing as red as his shirt. "Look..."
The comms engineer fiddled with the vast panel of controls in front of him, and eventually found the zoom button, and homed in on some twinkling debris near one of the docking bays.
A small shuttle floated into view with a huge hole blasted in its side. It was haemorraging its contents - expensive shoes and accessories spun slowly and gracefully in space, interspersed with the occasional Jimmy Choo shopping bag. Meph's eyes watered as he watched a knot of delicate lingerie unfolding in the foreground, amongst garments from the latest brightly coloured Prada collection.
"My supply shuttle..." thought Nene, biting her lip.
Various whoops and cheers filled the room at the sight, followed by disappointed groans as the visual fizzled out once more.
"Like I said, it'll take about 3 hours to fix," reminded Cyberworm. "But I think I found the problem. Looks like our comms have been taken over."
"How astute of you, droid," boomed a disembodied voice enigmatically.
"Huh?" said Cy, looking round. "Who said that?"
"Search me," replied another comms engineer, clad in an identical red shirt as the first, his head buried in an open panel full of wires and flashing lights with the word 'danger' written on them. "AAAGGH!"
Rune, Cy, Tramp, Meph and Nene watched detatchedly as the crewman's body was instantly incinerated, turning to a black and crispy mess on the floor.
"Dammit, I told him not to touch the blue wire," muttered Cy. "Send in another one!"
Within seconds the doors to the bridge swung open with a smart hooosh. A replacement crew member reported for duty, kicking the charred remains of his cohort to one side, and stuck his head in the same hole that fried his predecessor.
"Pay attention, will you!?" snapped the voice again. "Really, did you have to ruin my entrance?"
"Uh, yeah, you were complimenting my astuteness," said Cy, looking up again.
"Pah, this is no good. Okay Quentin, beam me aboard their sorry excuse for a ship..."
A bright pink light filled the bridge, and gradually solidified into a being. He - if it was a he, stood some where between six and seven feet tall. Large feet were squeezed impossibly into pink sequined stillettos. Black fishnet stockings held up by frilly pink suspenders covered his knobbly legs, his large hairy torso bursting out of a red and pink basque.
Around his shoulders was draped a stole of an animal skin not known to this side of the galaxy, and the immaculate make-up on his face looked a professional job. Nene felt a pang of jealousy. The personal assistant she had assigned to her had such a bad tremor that she could barely stir a cup of coffee let alone apply make-up to the captain's face.
To complete the ensemble a traditional pirate captain's hat perched atop a platinum wig, the spangled skull and crossbones emblazoned on the front expressing a lewd wink.
"Well, hellooooo, what have we here? A vampire, how divine!" The bizarre being winked at Meph, before spotting Rune's pink suit. "Ooooh, I say, a man after me own heart... " He minced towards him, the stilletto heels wobbling at alarming angles.
Rune backed away a few steps, bumping against a control panel as he did so.
"Leave my crew alone!" demanded Nene.
The platinum wigged head turned and glared at her.
"That's no way to speak to a Pirate Queen, my dear. And you would be the oh so lovely Captain Nene Vergirl?"
Reluctantly leaving a rather relieved Rune the pink pirate minced across to greet her, holding out his hand in a gesture for her to kiss a huge pink gem set into a ring on his index finger.
Nene folded her arms. She needed to regain some control here. "State your identity and your mission," she said flatly.
The screen fizzled and flickered on for a moment, and images of Nene's undies floated by.

Indeed, unlucky for Rune.
His/her name: Petunia Macy Stiffler.
(yes, the initials are PMS lol)
Intentions: Wants someone to come over to his/her ship to help her upgrade the engines with some stolen technology.
Real intentions: We don't want to know . And he/she doesn't want the chief engineer to come because "she knows that he has much to do on his ship". So he sends someone to do it instead.
Any alterations of his intentions are welcome.

So, the pirates want to hold a drag queen fashion show, but they need an audience. so, they are there to hijack the ship and force the members to their own so that they can watch, applaud, get sick, whatever.

Ok, well I think the pirates are interested in having some 'different flavor' aboard their ship. Sailing the dark sea of space alone on their own ship with the same faces each day gets a little old. They're here to make an offer..trade one of their handsome young lads for a few of our own recruits (probably someone with an 'expendable' label). The surprising twist being that only the emissary (pirate leader) dresses quite as flamboyantly. The rest of the 'happy' pirates actually dress and appear more discrete, if not serious. Think GQ magazine. All supermodel, material. Much encouragement when they show 'their goods' to convince potential targets to accept the trade. :-p
Rather enjoyable Hulk. Keep it up guys.

okay - i like the idea of them being taken aboard the other ship, then taken to an alien planet on some mission the pirates need help with...
They need the main crew cause that always happened in Star Trek..
NeNe should be flipping out slightly more over the clothes, maybe go back to her room and have a fit of rage (throwing stuff around and yelling) b4 returning to the main deck and resuming the mission.
love your work crunchy though i am going to have to write you in when its my turn (unless some one beats me to it)..
