What has happened before:
After another run-in with the head wizard at sea, you managed, at long last, to rid the world of him. Unfortunatly, he managed to crash your ship at the last second. When you awoke, you were on a strange island with a temple, and it proclames itself to be the temple of the humans. After a moment, you went into the resting chamber...

It seems to be richly decorated. Food is piled high on the solid oak tables. Great paintings all around. All of them seem to relate to you in some way. It really is a resting chamber. But that doesn't mean a thing. Anything could be a trap. The food, for example. So you summon a small mouse and let it nibble on the food. Nothing happenes to it, so it must be safe. You pick up an apple and take a bite. Suddenly, your strength returns instantly. You only planned on staying here until you recovered, well, that's over. So you leave the temple and check up on the rest of the island. As you look around, you can't help but think that this is a bare, desloate place to be. No other food, shelter, anything else at all. Perhaps the people who constructed the temple used up everything on the island. So you go back in to the resting chamber, and you are shocked.
It's changed. Now it has books in leiu of the paintings. Chairs instead of the tables of food. Cautiously, you pick up a book and begin to read it. It says:He who would take the sword and shield that last forever, those unchangable artifacts of the humans, must go to sea and land at the temple of the humans. There he is allowed three days to prepare himself, then he must show that he has human blood in his viens. Should he be a crossbreed, then it will be painful, for only the human inside can take the test. The crossbreed must seperate the human from the other one inside him. Human and other will create seperate bodies for them to inhabit. The human will be under his control, but not both bodies at one time. He will have a dificult time, but the test will be harder, for though it is the same, he has to maintain control on the other, otherwise the test will fail.
So, this is the shelter of the sword and shield! You have to have them! But what's all this about a crossbreed? That's you, too, so it's going to be difficult for you? Oh please, nothing you can't handle!
Hold up, that's the wizard in you talking. You subdue him, and carefully walk towards the testing chamber. You are unable to open the door. Remembering the passage, you try to seperate the human in you from everything else. Suddenly, it happens. You are looking at a human who looks remarkably like you. You tell the vamp-wizard-druid you to lie down in the resting chamber and sleep. It follows your order. Then, you, as the human, open the door and enter.
You find yourself at a castle under siege at night. People around you are dying and screaming, limbs hacked off, sometimes not even hacked completly. You see through a hole in the wall that a group of people are floating down a nearby river on a barge. They are floating into an ambush that they can't see, for around the bend, is a soldier with a large appartus that has a swinging, sharp implement made to chop of heads. Meanwhile, you see somebody else about to be thrown from the walls onto the ground below, which is covered in pitchforks, swords, and other sharp inpliments. The figure fights back, and in the glare of the torchlight, you see her face. Mary!
You have little time. You have a crossbow with one bolt. You could kill the soldier about to throw Mary off, or the one that will kill all those innocents. Since you are human, you take aim, fire, and the soldier falls onto the ground that Mary was destined to hit.
The chamber returns. You are standing before a pedastal with the sword and shield on it. Carefully, you touch the set, then you pick it up. Suddenly, a voice talks to you.
Ah, you are the chosen one. Well, I've never had to do this before. Don't worry, this won't hurt a bit.
You swing your head around, trying to spot the noise, and then another human appears. This one has a slight glow about him. You realize something, and if you weren't holding the sword and shield, you would smack your forehead. The god of humans is here, of course, and is about to do...what?
Suddenly, the chamber flashes white, and you feel as though you are travling...
And you find yourself in a tight, cylindrical prision. You can't move! After about an hour of trying to escape, you look around. You see three other prisons, and a large, dusty book. Another piece of the puzzle clicks. This is the tome of knowledege! Those other prisons are for your other parts! Druid, wizard, vamp! When you fill all of them, you'll be free! You look around, and spy a window. When you look through, you see the temple. Of course. You see a small ship headed to the temple, and about halfway, from your perspective, you see a shipwreck. You suddenly feel tired. You switch to your other mode, an order it to awaken.
Suddenly, you're at the temple again. When you go outside and look around, you see that small boat. It might take a few days to gt here. Thank goodness for the resting chamber.

Ok...A bit confused here. And I think its just me. One moment your in a cylinder prison in your human form, you see the other prisons for your other selves, and the book of knowledge, and then you've lost me. What do you mean that you change modes?? I thought the other selves were in the resting room!? And how is that you change modes, and then suddenly find yourself outside with a boat already waiting for you. What about those prisons, and the book? And also why he not take the three suggested days to prepare suggested in the book he read?

Oh, heck, I've done it again. Let's review one more time...
A. He still had the other three minds. When he seperates one mind from the rest TOTALLY AND COMPLETLY, it makes another body for that mind.
B. That was one mind! Only one! So far, he has yet to fill in the other three prisons. When he does, the prisons burst open. He can't just leave his sense of right and wrong, along with the major holder of his soul, in a prison!
C. Human Thadius is held in a prison far from the temple of humans. So what he saw was true, but from a different point of view.
D. HE WAS UNCONCIOUS! He didn't know how long he had been there.
And some of you are going to ask, "Why not save the innocents?" The test was to see if he had a sense of love and to do what he needs to. It was illusion, but was so convincing that he couldn't take the chance.
*pant*
Any other questions?

Not Bad. But I think in future you'll have to try harder on the details because the ideas are great, but great ideas without details is like an iced latte with the caramel. Anyways, is the approaching boat good or bad? And how come it is so easy for Thadius to understand what he needs to do and how to do each time a new concept is served up? Oh. And the ship wreck, are we going to find Mack and Mary there or are they giong to have drifted to some other island? Anyways, I'm back to solitaire. Have fun.

Agree with whythewindblows comment here. But thanks for the explanation. Now I understand what the heck is going on.

Well, I'll explain the boat later.
However, if you read the last chapter...
The head wizard reveals that Thadius is the only one who can read the Tome of Knowledge. Nobody, and may I say, NOBODY, has done this before. Thadius also has all four races in his viens, meaning that he can use all four artifact sets. The gods knew what they had to do, and that was test Thadius by seperating his four respective parts. These may be related, because I'm not telling!
I've also got a suprise story ending all picked out. Fresh from the tree. Made sure I got a good one, should be very nice. It will suprise you all.

Isn't it a little early to be thinking of the ending? I mean he has the three other tests to go through, reading the tome and finding the artifacts and then beating some wizard ass so he can reclaim his place in the world. Anyways, I say his next test should be the Vampire test and the last should be the Wizard test. And how is he going to save Mack and Mary? I'm out.

So this is the guy who has no race and lives by no law he can unite the world being king over all the races or he could be killed becaues he is a threat to all of the powers of this varey balanced world. If the world is half land and half water and all things balance out where is the man who balances out this vary powerful person.

the sword and shield that last forever

Are they the first two artifacts or just some thing to have a little fun?

Its not to early for idea master to be thinking of the ending. Many writers think of what sort of ending they want, and work backwards. But yes, i agree on that point that you have a lot to write about before the ending comes up. And maybe you're ending now will change. I think the Vampire test should be last because Thadius was introduced as the Vampire king, or whatever, and it is that side of him that the Wizards don't like. Again, you have a lot of chapters to put up because there are a lot of unanswered questions.

Hello Read most of the story so far, and I like it to a point . I agree that the atention to detail is important and, I also agree that it is not to early to be thinking about a ending.

Now let me add that I think that the test should be alot harder for him to fiqure out. Also I believe that it should be harder for him to deal with having the seperate parts of him being seperate. Just think about it for a minute if you had your conciousness split into four parts then would'nt you be a little bit confussed and bewilderer?
One other critisim he seems to have taken quite easily to being the only one to use all the artifacts and to this whole situation in general. I think that I would balk at the idea that I would have to face a GOD not to mention that I might have to face all the gods.

I agree. He seemed too calm, and accepting about this great powerful person coming before him, and telling him that he had been waiting for him. If I was Thadius I would wonder how long he had been waiting for me and why was it ME he was waiting for, along with being startled and a bit scared to have such a person before me.
