Poetry kind of comes and goes around the site and I think that's quite comforting actually. It takes the pressure off those who have no time for it from conforming to a 'scene' they don't like. Though the welcoming attitude and open mindedness of our good city still allows the odd, random outburst. Very Happy

Anyway, here's my first, I'll post more day by day. Tell me what you think and post your own if you have any.

(Hasn't got a name yet.)
Listen for my quiet crow, sanguine in the night.
Surfeit with shade and shadow, obliged to find the light.
Another violet curtain falls, red blossom bare their bloom.
In the dark my caller calls, his echo mirrors doom.
And on realities very rim, enchanted by a black fox.
I float away and weep with him, for not all doors have locks.
All masks seem to shatter, as I see the void behind the bone
I swear his teeth begin to chatter, then I wake and find my own.

I flutter
I fly
I soar
Yet I sigh
For not on wings
Do I fly
But on dreams do I soar
Lest I wake I should sky
But if I wake I should die
For to fall from such hights
Is to die with the night

Light Casts Shadow
Light casts shadow
But without shadow
would we notice light?
So would we see
the difference 'tween
Day, and night?
Unseen unknown
as a whole
we would go ungrown
no dark no bright
no moon no sun
no day no night
no shadow no light
contrast between the two
is how we see
either one

A Poem for the broken soul.
Sadness, fear and betrayel too
sparks that set the fire
The wildfire rushing 'cross the plain
the plain your heart
The flame burns higher
As the ash drifts on the breeze
Ash that once was
Your happiness
your calm
Your ease
Doubts
the souls of the animals
that once respresented
your hopes
your dreams
your cheer
the animals who through the smoke
their crys you could no longer hear
Flowers that once were your jokes
Lay ravaged and torn
before the fire fetches them too
There is no longer grass to be green
And no one looks up
to see that the sky is still blue.

A little cold, a little bold
And all, so far, too full of mirth
They bare the mark, their watches sold
And now are drunk on all they're worth
Hopes fading, cigarettes are rolled
As spirits flow back to the earth
Sobering thoughts, now drunken schemes
World spinning slower than it seems
Upturned bottles wont make it stop
So many still voicing their dreams
Addressed to the few at the top!

The Winds and Waves

Why try so hard
When towers fall
And mountains crumble
Under wind's caress?

The shores, they turn to dust from pounding waves,
The trees are torn into the sky by howling winds.
From all created by earth and man, the towers, the mountains, the trees.
Only the wind and waves remain.

Untitled

No hammer blow will spell my doom
No raptor that on high winds flies
'stead the enemy of all men looms
A thorny path which caught my eye.
No way to leave, to escape this tomb
which closes closer the more i try
to leave its encompassing walls.

Should I embrace my enclosure, accept my fate?
No seer am I, I can but wait.
