What has happened before...
You, Thadius LaFontania, recovered the wands of Light and Darkness from your traitor father. He went on about some nonsense about you bringing balence to the world, which you've stored away for future reference. A few days later brought you to the temple of Wizards. Remembering all the damage you've done to them, you cautiously approach...

An hour later, you stand inside the temple's doorway. Nothing dangerous or harmful has happened yet...
A man appears in front of you. No smoke screen to hide the spell, no sudden noise to mask it, just appears. He wears long, flowing blue robes covered in golden and silver mystic symbols. The tall, pointed hat only futher increases the feeling that this is the god of Wizards. You immediatly put your guard up. "Hold your ground Thadius, I wish to speak with you."
"What about?"
"Firstly, well done on getting here with the wands."
"Well, thank you."
"Second, you might like to know your father is dead."
There is no twinge of guilt or loss in your heart. "And third?"
"Ah yes, with the previous gods you had to anwser a riddle. Not so with me and my test. Merely take the wands in your right hand and give them a wave."
It takes time to get the opposites to agree. Then you give them a mighty wave.
The world rends itself apart, or is it merely you?
You see yourself split apart into three. One version of you is dressed in white. The second is in black. The third hangs there, a pale, ghostly form of you. You see through the third one's eyes..
The god gestures towards you, and you walk up to his side.
"Now watch, young Thadius...long ago, there was a prophecy. Should it be fulfilled in this fight, you may pass."
"Fight?"
"Yes, you really don't think they're going to agree with each other, do you?"
You turn towards the other two, and see that they have turned towards the other.
The white one has raised a shield which blocks all the black one's destructive magic. This continues for so long you feel as though you'd fall asleep. Finally, you ask the god, "What was the prophecy?"
"That you'd arrive here, and in the ensuing battle with yourself..."
Finally, the black one scores a hit upon the white one, but the oddest thing happens. As the blood flows from the white one's wound, the black one too spurts a wound of equal size. And in your arm, the ghostly one, a small hole appears for the faintest second.
"...Balence would shine forth from within you. That's enough, stop!"
The world re-assembles itself.
You see from your own eyes, and the wound vanishes, closing up in an instant.
"It seems that your father might not have been raving after all. Very well. I take your wizard self to the temple of knowledge and leave you with a clue as to where the vampire temple is. Search the basement of your palace during the hated time for your kind."
The god vanishes, as does your awareness for magic. Fortunatly, the sun has set, so now you turn towards your homeland, La-Ethil, and care not for the hated sun

That's normal for this story. It came out before Key made the submission rules.

In the desert
I saw a creature, naked, bestial,
Who, squatting upon the ground,
Held his heart in his hands,
And ate of it.
I said, "Is it good, friend?"
"It is bitter--bitter," he answered;
"But I like it
Because it is bitter
And because it is my heart."  -- Stephen Crane

Decision point or not. I think this story has gone far. Great job idea master. But I did feel that you could have continued this chapter on a bit longer.
