What has happened before:
You, Thadius LaFontania, arrived at Rath, home of the Rathiel. After a brief disscussion with the elder, he gave you their special ruby of transformation, which allows any non-Rathiel to live on after death and shape-change. However, rebles on the island destroyed your friends and stole the ruby, which they live on in. After luring you to the cave which they hid the evidence in, they give you their ultimatium: depart without the ruby, or stay in death. You were forced to choose...

You hurl a spell at them which you'd been charging for the past few seconds. A spell of slowing time. It didn't take too long, because things in this cave nominally happen slowly. The Rathiel grin. "Soooooooo, a fight it isssssssss," they say with slowed, slurred speach.
You reach for the ruby, and as you turn around to look at the Rathiel, you see that they have grown in number. You should have realized that the flies around your friends' bodies were not any ordinary flies, they were Rathiel in disguise. However, they might not have counted you actually using the ruby to transform.
They did. "Yoooouuuu can'tttt uuuusssee tttthhhhee ggemmm, nooooooooone hasssss usssed ittt annnd livvveddd."
By default, they would win with sheer force. You send your magic scurrying into the gem anyway, and recive a huge shock. They told the truth about Mack and Mary being in the gem, but they're not dead, and not just their souls. They are all the way in the gem, which means the rebles recruited a Seer of their kind onto their side. Inside the gem, Mack and Mary look at you with anticpation.
"Thadius, are you here to free us?"
"No, Mary, I have need of the transformation magic within. Do you know how to acsess the magic?"
"When you got down to this level, Thad," Mack says, "You reached it. All you have to do is think of what you want to be, and you shall become it. You must touch the stone again to become your normal self, for when you transform, that part of you stays here."
"Does that mean...?"
"They forced us to transform, and killed the transformed us. We live on, here."
"Thanks for the information."
You then think Dragon, and you swell, bigger, larger, more powerful, and the Rathiel back off and run away, momentarily so shocked that they forgot they can transform also. However, they run slowly. You throw another spell. In your dragon state, you are much more powerful, not just phyiscally. This spell also shouldn't take long, but it has to be specified, and that does take time. Just when it's ready, the leader turns around and also begins turning into a dragon. That's when you loose your spell. It looks like a huge stone. And that's what the Rathiel turn into. This stone spell makes sure they stay that way, unchanging, until they are needed. To them, it will seem like a large bout of sleepiness caught them. They will not suffer.
That's when you turn around and touch the stone again. You change back to your regular self. Then you return to the village. You talk to the elder, and he responds quite sorrowfully.
"Thadius," he says, "I feel sorry for you. Your visit to our village has only brought you grief. If there were some way to make it up to you, I would. Only time can heal your wounds. In the meanwhile, you must leave and continue your search for the rest of the artifacts. I am allowed to give you one hint, though. Your theory about what will happen at the end is wrong. Now, leave, quickly..."
But he doesn't finish. Your medallion flashes, and a huge spell annihaltes the pot his mind sits over. Remembering the qualities of your ruby, you thrust that towards the pot, and something seems to be attracted to it. The elder survives, but what of you? You must get to the docks, and quickly, because it seems that the people have seen your stonemasonry up near the caves, and a great destiny you may have, but you'll not achive it if you can't leave the island alive.

It could have come from anywhere, but it was designed to annihlate Thadius. The necklace, in case you're wondering and not been keeping up, alters anything that happens to Thadius, so it protects him by shifting the harm onto the nearest acceptable target. The ruby allows anyone to live on after death, so the elder's mind is now within the ruby.

Ever thought of reading the rules???? The object of this site is not to do an all out RPG, but to have people write stories based on what the readers want. And work on your spelling.

Wow, so much has happened since I left last month. I still like it. Well it seems he lost some allies. I feel empathy for Thadius since he lost his friends, but I think this whole journey he needs to do it himself. Now all he needs is a escape of some sort. A boat perhaps? Or maybe there are people living in the sea who will help him. Don't know. Just a few suggestions. Anyways it's nice to return to a story that is still going strong, Keep up the good work!

I agree with RavenWing, it's still great. I think he should have a minor confrontation with whomever threw the spell that killed the pot though. And getting help from anyone else on the island would be unadvisable, what if there are more people like Matthew? So can he carry the ruby with him if he transforms? If he can then h should turn into a seagull and fly off the island. And since the bodies of Mary and Mack no longer exist is he still going to be able to bring them back? Any ways, you need to stay away from 'M' names for a while, Mary Mack and Matthew have been quite enough for now.
