Hmmm. Interesting.
Well I'd quickly shoot the one gaurd that is left 'watching' me so that he couldn't alert the others to my escape. She'd have to kill the gaurd quickly though, in one shot if possible. Then again, with him not paying too much attention to her, that shouldn't be too hard.
Then flee. There's still a possibility that they'll follow...but she knows the area well and they're less likely to notice if no-one's gaurding her.

Meh, just my thoughts.
By the way...what happened to the fancy lay-out?

I agree with solus. Possibly she could use an arrow head to slit the guard's throat, thereby making no sound. Or Alethra could be so scared and eager for escape herself that she tramples the guard. In either case, I think she needs to get into Delos. Either her "family" are still there, or at least possibly some answers.

OR.. wait a minute! What if she shoots Hawk Face, and saves Serpent Face at the last moment? If she waits until he's obviously about to be killed, it hopefully won't infringe upon Snake's honour, and she may win his support. Possibly she could then get his to escort her into Delos, or at least wait a little while she scopes it out herself. They can eat the dead Hawk Face in the meantime.

I think I agree with scissorkitty...cats should have scissors...oh wait...thats not what I meant...I mean I agree that she should save snake head from hawkface and earn his respect...before the attack I wondered if it would be possible that Hawkface was actually aspy or "undercover agent" who was infiltrating the wolves and that was why he hated me...he was worried I would blow his cover...would be an interesting dynamic down the line...but once the attack on snake head happened I thought of killing Hawkkead right away to gain that respect...it might even put me in a place of dominance over the tribe...look forward to seeing how others react to this post and reading on...great job!!

...not easy. And I don't see anyway out of the three options. It's fight, flight, of wait.

Better to take action and flee. The only way to throw off the pack is by sacrificing her horse and erasing her scent. By sacrificing the horse, I mean allowing it to run off so that the wolves chase it while she climbs a tree or hides somewhere. She can erase her scent by crossing the river.

Hmmm, this doesn't bode well for us as Deicia. Nice twists key.

I say one hand in the quiver, ready to shoot Hawkhead in between the eyes if he is going to win, then say "One who strikes while the others back is turned, doesn't deserve a dishonorable victory"

And even better, if you shoot Hawkhead before Snakehead is going to win. And after you shoot him, you say "One who strikes dishonorably, while the others back is turned doesn't deserve an honorable death." Then put your bow away and slowly start to proceed the way we've been heading. This would be bad-ass and would earn you mad kudos from the wolves. Imho. Smile

Running away; are you kidding me? That'll kill us for sure. These wolves have heard us, what makes you think that they won't smell us or pick up on our scent after the river. After all, it was Alethra whom they picked up on which lead them to you.

Running right now would kill us for sure.... which would be a weak ending, btw, and i'm sure Key wouldn't want to kill off Deicia. Especially not 7 chapters into her brand new adventure.

What we should be doing now is having the credibility that we spoke of having in our small speech... the one that made us a prisoner instead of a snack. We have inside us a Heart of a Bear (though it honestly should have been a Bear Claw Razz ). That will come out in us when we need it most, which a bear has never been known to cut and run from a fight, in fact, they love the fight. They rank themselves from the fight, similar to these wolves, we would find that in common. I think the best route to take right now is to kill Hawkhead ESPECIALLY if he was about to LOSE. That's right, you read correctly, if Hawkhead is about to lose.

Sincerely,
SirWaxaLot

I said to dump the horse, naturally.

I would think shooting Hawkface when he's losing would be a good way to make Snakeface your enemy! Stealing his ritual victory? Why do that to someone who at least seems on your side?

It might seem that way. But, it would be in the purposes of killing Hawkface, taking away his honorable death by not letting Snakehead give it to him.

Make sense? that's how i would reason it.

It could very well be a bad move, we'll just have to see.

Sincerely,
SirWaxaLot
