I'm going to try a new format, a cross between "Two-word stories" and traditional storygaming. I'm going to tell a story one sentence at a time, and the first word of each sentence I'll take from anyone who wants to post one. So for example..
someone posts: The
I write: The postmaster stamped Sam's letter and tossed it in the bin.
someone else posts: Well
I write: "Well, that's it," thought Sam.
someone else posts: Becky
I write: "Becky's not going to like that letter, but it's best to make a clean break."
and so on until we have a full story. Obviously only one person can post a word each time, but if there's more than one person who wants to play, hopefully you can take turns so it's not always the same person posting.
I don't have anything in mind to start; can I have the first word of the story title?

Okay, I don't usually join in with this type of thing, but this sounds fairly interesting. For a starting word for the title, how about...*ponders*...

Not quite sure what I expect to come from that, but lets see where it goes.

Vengeful Moon
Sorrow was David's life now. His love, his reason for living, had been ripped from him in a sudden twisting of metal on the Interstate, leaving sorrow in her place. Alone in bed, he waited for the next day. It must have been about 5 when the phone rang. After a brief temptation to ignore the ring, curiosity got the better of him and he dragged himself across the room and picked up the phone.
"Hello?" Nothing. Irritated, David said "HELLO?" again.
"For two years she was cheating on you," came a whispered voice. "He killed her when she broke it off."
David gasped. He had suspected Lila had been seeing someone - she'd spent too many night "working", seemed too distracted - but he'd never imagined it had anything to do with her death. "Who is this?" David demanded. The phone went dead.
Placing it on the receiver, David felt something new. His life wasn't just sorrow now. He had a purpose, something to look forward to: revenge.
