Actually, I think the first major bidding war was for Key to enter the game as a magical item. Previous to that there were a few bidding fights for the Hero and Villain, as well as annoying talking animal, survival not guaranteed.
Of course, there were less Fables around then, and it was before the inflationary rise when Key altered the Fable earning rates.
Anyway Chapter 19 is up, albiet in part 1 format. Check it out!

Hey, I dispute this. Key should not be allowed to bid. He has access to unlimited amounts of fables! How did he get them in the first place anyway?
If my objection is overriden, I bid 101F that my idea goes and key's doesn't.

Mine is not to question why, mine is just to take his Fables.
Key has been subject to this sort of bid himself, check back to page 2 or 3 in this thread. How do you think he ended up as a Chamber Pot, albiet a dignified one.
And lots of people have more Fables that Key!

I get fables just like everybody else, by posting and responding.
While in theory I could give myself (or anyone else) additional fables, I have not done so. The only times I've added to anyone's fables have been for awards and such, as specified in the rules for earning fables thread.

I bid 60F for Solomon to develop a god-complex about D-Lotus.
The circumstances for the change I leave up to Chinaren (possibly some change that kicks off in Random's teleportation process, but it's up to you), but I want our dumb drow to end up believing that D-Lotus is some kind of manifest deity, walking the earth among us poor mortals.
That should be worth 60, I think

60Fables for an addition to that scenario. After the Twisty's death, General Powers insists on having her embalmed - stuffed and grinning, if you prefer - and carries her with him wherever he goes.
As time passes, he goes slowly more and more insane, talking to his twisty friend, hearing her answer him, mulling over old times, etc...
(unless it supercedes any existing bids, that is, in which case I withdraw and leave it to Smee to decide Twisty's eventual fate)

I may be so many buckets of exploded brown goo now, but when slugs mate both come away pregnant. I'll bid 100F for Smee-slug to birth our babies, and lead this newborn slug army on a successful campaign against whatever vile plan Phang hatches next (whether Phang dies or not is irrelevant, so long as her overall goal is thwarted by slime).

200! There ought to be a mortal (Non demon) king of evil! That way, Phang gets an upgrade from Mistress of evil to QUEEN of evil! The king will have no power, being as seduced by Phang's charms as humanly possible. He will not want to go against his darling queen's wishes, and will be a delightful little shadow puppet. All that being said, it is best if he is someone she already knows rather than the random bumpkin off the streets. And thus, Powers the Perverted gets elected into this horribly delightful role.

Mmm, the only problem with this bid is that Phang would not need a King, even a puppet king. She would probably see it as a threat to her title. As it is, she already has Powers under her sway, so upping his title would serve no purpose.
