Texas.

WAIT!!!!! Just a few facts-

-We do not ride horses

-I do not wear a cowboy hat or boots

-I hate country music

-There is no oil well in my backyard

-We do have grass

-Tumbleweeds are uncommon in my part of Texas, a tumbleweed on a road even less common

-I do not hate gays

-I don't have a gun (though I know how to load, shoot, and take apart one)

However, I do agree with some Texas Stereotypes:

-I support capital punishment (almost everyone here does, trust me)

-I am against strict gun control (the second a personal gun is useless I promise I'll change my mind)

I'm the half Greek living round the corner from Phang! Very Happy

I'd also like to mention some facts about us English ones Laughing

Most important one I've wanted to make clear:
*We do NOT call tea chamomile!
lol I don't even think I can spell it and I wouldn't know what it was unless it sounded like the Greek word for it.
*We don't ALL like tea, although most do. (I do Very Happy )
*We don't all sound like the Queen Laughing
*And it doesn't always rain everyday.... we do have sunshine!...a bit Razz

Also, it's kam-oh-my-ul, not kam-oh-meel; foh-rin, not for-in; and an-tee, not an-tai.

And as few consonants as possible! Broo haw haw.

Heheh, reminds me of something I heard - Jerry Springer considers Brits swearier than the kind o' people he has on his show. As was noted, this may be because he thought we were trapped in a Mary Poppins film, like 85% of all Americans.

A demographic poll would be interesting, actually... although you might not be able to do it by country -

By continent or time zone might be the way to go, to see how we're spread over the planet.

San Diego CA, where I, despite being born and raised here, have never quite fit in with the majority of deliberately ignorant masses who are vastly more concerned with surfing and smoking pot than, oh, ANYTHING ELSE. Not that either of those are bad things in moderation. But I am constantly shocked at the stupidity of people here. Constantly. And I'm not a critical person either, that's the scary part, I really try to give people the benefit of the doubt all the time. Not a lot of book readers here, know what I'm saying?

Auckland, New Zealand.

We're usually way behind the rest of the world in... well, everything. I especially hate how we get book releases later than everyone else, and I often hear complaints from my friends about the quality of the electronic hardware here.

At least it's clean, right? Laughing

*Waiting to get my hands on the 5th Temeraire book before the bookstore runs out of its grand stock of about 5 copies* Mad

Harlan, Kentucky, U.S.A
Just thought I'd go ahead and put my ten-cents abouta few things:
1) We don't all have a southern drawl... of course most do and some have one that is just terrible, but not everyone does.
2) We are not all hicks\hillbillies (no shirt, no shoes, curse, spit, drink, do drugs)
3) No everyone lives in a trailor park, the projects or a dark, solemn hollow.
4) We don't all "cling to our guns and religion", nor do we have "at least six junk cars in the front yard."
5) ABC recently ran a special entilted, 'Mountain People." Most of the "information" within that documentary is very much false, just incase anyone happened to see it.
6) Yes, we are literate... most of us.
7) No, not everyone cock-fights, is toothless, shoeless, uneducated, jobless and on welfare.

*points at my sig* That answer your question? Wink I'm a few miles south of Leicester, Leicestershire, the East Midlands, England, Britain, Europe, Earth, Sol, etcetera.

It's not a bad place to live, but it's not exactly tourist country. Mostly farmland. Very little crime, but very little going on either. Great place to live, not a great place to have a life.

Vancouver, BC, Canada =D
...or, more accurately, a small town near Vancouver. It's really the perfect place. It's a small, quiet little farm town far away enough from Vancouver that there's almost no crime or anything, but we're still only a 40 minute bus ride from downtown. Vancouver's right by the coast, too, and I can bus down to the ferries to go to Vancouver Island in about 15 minutes (or the Vancouver International Airport in 25-30 minutes). But we're also close to forests and lots of parks, and mountains for hiking and camping.
