Thank you all those who have come up with solution ideas to the two problems.
I've tried to make sure everyone's suggestions are incorporated somewhere within the options. Let me know if yours is missing.
Otherwise, please vote! Whichever is the winning option will be the one we concentrate on from now on.

Incidently, originally it was Miscellaneous, Experimental and Humour - but this came out as 'Meh'... which didn't go down too well with the moderator at the time. It was rotated to be HEM during a publicity drive for their section. 
I don't have any great issue with the genre forums as they are now, and neither do I have with renaming the HEM to something more generalised. I think the blurb idea is fine also.
I think we could be here until the end of term for the 15th Mayor before coming up with a recategorisation definition that everone is happy with (and not just accepted out of sheer frustration to get it over and done with). I don't think it would be a productive use of any of our time.

...And on that note, please can we bring our focus into collecting votes.
TP - We are now polling which is the best solution to the problems you and Chinaren have highlighted, and I urge you to please assist with moving this project forward, by casting your vote so we can start concentrating on implementing the agreed solution. If the agreed solution is to completely re-vamp the system, your discussions and questions on genre will become relevant and that is what we'll be concentrating on. If changing the forum descriptions wins, your questions on what we should put in those descriptions become relevant. In the meantime it would probably be wise to hold off any further discussions until the outcome of the poll.

TP, the facts have been established and we are voting based on those facts.
If you feel strongly enough about it, why don't you examine every existing storygame on this site, and categorise each one by genre according to accepted definitions? Then you can divide them up between the three categories and present your proposed groupings to the rest of the membership. I can provide you with a private space on this site to make it easier to do links. You may accept or decline the offer by PM.
For the rest of us, reach for those voting sticks - the poll closes tomorrow and then we can really work on making things happen.
