This is just an idea I had. What happens is a quote is given any quote at all and a story is written based on whatever idea you get from the quote. Anybody can enter and when there is enough entries we'll vote the one that best represents that quote.

The first quote is .. “Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today.”

Humm. I cannot say whether it is good or not but it's certainly interesting.

I think Chinaren's done this before. SoaP is basically a variation of this.

I think this should be in the contest forum officially, and the thread asking if it's a good idea should be in the Open Forum.

But yeah, I also think it's a good idea

Hey Misty, I've moved it to Writer's Arena. You may want to add some rules. Article length etc.

You might want to take a gander at some of the other competitions for rules. Things like entries per author, no voting for your own entry might seem simple, but you should state them, just in case.

Never thought of that, o.k one entry per person, no voting for your own entry, the person who wins can decide the next quote.

How about a prize? You ask for an entry fee from everyone, then you hand all the money to the winner. Usually, you don't want to ask for less than 10 Fables as an entry fee.

It's a great thing. It means you're one of us, unless you support the SNP, in which case you're a completely different person from us and we don't know you.

What are the limitations of posting in here? I mean, how many words and such? Maybe a deadline?...

“Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today.”

Jack woke up. He flew out of his bed and then into the living room, where he turned on the television with his ears. He watched the television for a couple of negative seconds, then he floated out of the time-loop, and finally blasted his way out of the room through the wall, leaving the open door swinging on its creaky hinges.

He hopped through the air a couple of times before swallowing an airplane flying in his path. After a while, the airplane having been fully digested, he was forced to make an emergency bathroom stop in Atlantis. After wiping himself with seaweed and riding a baseball bat to heaven, Jack decided that it was time to go sleep, so he inverted himself and rested his head in between Monica Belluci's cleavage as the multi-universe turned itself to darkness.

Then Jack woke up. He incorporated himself onto his pillow and scratched his head. He glanced at the alarm clock and exclaimed surprisedly. He splashed water onto his face and tried to straighten out his funky bed-hair. He pulled on a pair of pants chosen randomly from a pile on the ground, paused as he realized that they were on inside out, shrugged, and pulled on a pink sweater. He grabbed his wallet, hurriedly stuffing his subway ticket into it, and his house keys before rushing out of his apartment.

A few minutes afterwards, he was riding the subway, panting and out of breath. Things moved in a blur outside the window until they began to slow and the doors of the subway slid open. Jack strode outside. A particularly attractive female in a red skirt and high-heels walked towards him before climbing a set of stairs leading outside. Jack glanced at his watch and then at the swaying hips before changing direction and following the red skirt.

As she surfaced, a man bumped into her and tore away with her purse firmly in his clutch. Jack bolted after him in a heroic chase. The robber weaved in and out the walkers, as Jack followed in hot pursuit. The robber glanced behind him, spotted Jack, and ran into the street, closely evading a taxi cab. Jack leaped over the cab's hood and increased his pace. The robber burst into a faster sprint as Jack began to close in on him, but Jack seized his chance and hurled himself at the robber, catching him in a tackle and laying him flat on the ground. The robber, recovering from the blow, pulled a gun out of his pocket and aimed it at Jack, who swung his foot and knocked it out of the robber's hand before knocking him out with a punch on the face.

After the short journey back, panting in exertion, Jack returned the purse to the female, who hugged him and inquired his name. After a quick explanation, Jack explained the complication of getting on time to his destination, and she offered to take him in her car, which she had parked before dropping off her cousin at the subway. She briefly exchanged phone-numbers with Jack and dropped him off in time for his date with a rally organizer at the Orinda Cafe.

Also, I've sent you my 10 Fable fee.

Ok, hers my story, it may be a bit sort though.

“Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today.”

Will floated through a realm of nonexistence, he did not know how he got there or that his name was will. Then suddenly he was a waiter in a fancy restraint, and a costumer was yelling at him.

Will kindly tried to explain to the man that he had just been floating through the ethereal ream and that he was busy trying to figure out what was going on, but some how the man did not understand.

Then just as fast as he had been a waiter he was now climbing mount Everest, and there was a pink monkey trying to push him off.

Somehow this seemed a bit more normal to will "by now he had figured out his name" he then promptly fell.

Now he was flying through what seemed to be pink glue,

"what are you doing here" said his father.

"I live here replied will" though he really did not know why, then he woke up.

"No not again" will exclaimed, he had had to many of these strange dreams, but he liked it. He loved to dream, he could dream all his life if he wanted to.

Will got up and out of bed, he had a long day ahead of him......

He got back about 8 hours later, he had been base jumping all day, and had greatly enjoyed himself. will had made it his personal motto to live life to its fullest. as he thought of all this he was infected by a deadly virus and died.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sorry about the format, am still trying to figure it out, but it makes no sense to me, so I winged it . Oh and i sent you your 10 fabals as well. Smile
