We should probably favor individual posts over a poll. That way, we can get some background information on City Council members and ordinary Citizens for the Wiki. Remember, we have the Gender thread also.
Some people would probably not like this, and I think that User Pages on the Wiki should be restricted according to the wishes of the Citizen. Still, a demographic might be nice for a General IF Information page, but it would have to be updated regularly to be of any use.

what alos has to be conisdered ( and frankly i've noticed this ) the sub 18's are going to be on here more cause the 18+'s have to a little thing called work so naturally there are going to be more youngsters taht old fogies (i'm 22 so i'm a middle fogie )

There has always ben a lot of dead weight. When I joined the amount of people who had never posted was in the thousands. Then came the Great Exorcism, and the amount of members (as well as the amount of idearium) went down, with all those who never posted banished. People accumelate, and you also have all the Ifians who drop off the radar.

Well, yes - they would be. If the poll options were every five, or every ten (ect) years, then it'd be a different trend together. But their choice stretches a lot further than any of the others.

hehe, if you move the benchmark to 20, the vote is almost half and half!
This poll is out of date as some of us have moved from one category to the next even since this thread was first started...

Sometimes I think that's part of the problem, I'll be 49 at the end of May almost in the 50+ range that's double the 25+ range so not all that much in common with the major 13-16 range that has the most votes.

Argon- I'm not quite pulling those numbers, but exactly. I was totally unprepared for the average age of this place. I mean, when I was 12ish, ... I don't think I had half the grammar skills or ability to SPEAK, then again write, in the styles I see all over If. It's really amazing. And it is indeed a contrast of different lifestyles and age groups coming together. I never realised what an integral part of the community dynamic it probably is.
(and how out of date some of my pop culture references might be. woops! Maybe that's why I often seem the only one to get my jokes!)

Some of us older members are a little more shy in revealing our age, of course. I'm quite happy to check the 25+ box but if that was divided into 26-35, 36-50, 50+ I might hover over the vote button and decide to move on.

Just added my vote to the 25+ category although it should probably read 25+++...
I'm feeling really old here in the city and also am very impressed by the talent of some of you young'uns...you should be prod of yourselves
Now if one of you could just help me across the street and back to the Ifian Senior Complex for my dailty Canasta game...

| Hmm.. 11 or so in the Over Legal Age categories, and 12 below. I had to count the mid aged group (17-19yos) in the younger category, not being able to see who is specifically over 18 or not.

Sorry. I have a problem writing obviously untrue statements with a straight face.
I think a better way of saying this would be that the intelligence of the people here is above average.

And my vote brings the 13-16 back up to a tie with the 25+.
